Christmas week is here. Usually this time every year when I was working, this would be when everything is starting to wind down, the store would actually start getting quieter, and I would just relax till time to travel home. Needless to say , with no work, it's been much more calm anyhow...but for some reason, a wash of more calm and peace came over me all of a sudden yesterday. I feel more peaceful and calm then I have in some time. If my mind and mood could be seen in pictures...this would be what you'd see. I leave you with these for today.
After that you have got me in a calm mood. Loved all the calming white. I too add.its been nice this season not working. I actually have gotten out of it...slow down and enjoy more.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't familiar with this song....but Vanessa sang it beautifully...I dare say it even got to me. She is so gorgeous.
You're all of a sudden Feeling all calm and cool and peaceful. I dare say, I suspect someone must've had a cock-a-tail and a shared way with the lumberjack neighbor. Who wouldn't be all warm, fuzzy, and peaceful after that?
ReplyDeleteThe photos are gorgeous. They really do bring a sense of peace. Have a happy day, Maddie.
I must be getting old...this post either got to me...or I have something in my eye. The song couldn't have accompanied the lovely pictures any better. You can set a mood for sure.
ReplyDeleteI can't in all honesty claim the five bonus points. I clicked on the pic to make it bigger and her name came up. I love the house in the first pic.
ReplyDeleteThat 'snow angel' is sure to get up with a chilly willy - and more.
ReplyDeleteMy very first thought. "Shrinkage! C'mon! It was cold! Ya gotta allow for shrinkage!"
DeleteLovely, lovely post. Thanks for the chill.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo SCREAMS Christmas, and he rest follow.
ReplyDeleteAnd Miss Vanessa. Yes, ma'am.
Beautiful! The pink house was perfect. You really are great at creating a mood.
ReplyDeletePhoto #4 looks like the Slovenian Torta Melanija (see here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55004553 ) which the tight faced piece of work in the WH wouldn't eat in a year of Sundays.
ReplyDeletelove the houses/castles. and that houseboy on the snow; his bits must be cold!
ReplyDeleteI want to say that is a old picture of your mother....but I don't think it is...is it? And that song was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove that first house!
ReplyDeleteThe xmas tree in the middle of all that snow is a mood, for sure!
So glad you've found that 'moment'.
XOXO
Mmmmm, I want that white cake with the white icing!
ReplyDeleteOMG
DeleteSame!
XOXO
Lovely! Glad you are relaxing a bit, friend.
ReplyDeleteGreat set of pictures. If I cheated and say it's Ursula Andress do I still gets the points? I now want that cake and seafoam candy....the last thing my fat ass needs.
ReplyDeleteThose houses are made out of Royal icing, surely? Jx
ReplyDeletePS I used to drive an MGB Roadster [pic #5] several lifetimes ago...
I thought the same about the houses, Jon! And then I wondered if I could make a gingerbread house and decorate it in icing to look like one. Fortunately, laziness and memories of Great British Bake Off disasters stopped me in my tracks.
DeleteA beautiful set of pictures, Maddie. Very calming indeed. Especially the lit tree on the riverbank.
Mr Device...Im surprised you not flying around in the Star Trek Enterprise somewhere?
DeleteUsed to?!?!? I would love a MGB roadster!!!!
DeleteA lovely collection and a lovely song. Thanks, hon. My guess is Julie Christie... but that's not right. The car is the wrong vintage and the cheek bones - although, hard to tell because she's looking up. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteSo, how come we don't get any points for knowing who the guy in the sand is????
ReplyDeleteThat car better move ver-r-r-r-y slowly. Otherwise, I don't see those gifts arriving at their destination.
ReplyDeleteTalk about damaged goods!
DeleteLoverly! Would have to paint the
ReplyDeletepink house...
xoxox
Now I feel calm and peaceful, too. Thanks for sharing. I have no idea who is in the photo, but I love a mystery.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I agree about the post....very calming and serene.i love snow covered pine trees. And the MG is so chic.
ReplyDeleteLove this mood board. My favorite is the trees with the white lights and blurry looking. This song is probably my favorite Christmas song....and Vanessa sang it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI think she may have the best version.
DeleteI don't deserve the 5 points. I read the name on the file. Beautiful music. A very creative post to express how you're feeling.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the antlers on the first deer form a heart. And you gotta be careful body surfing in the snow, gotta protect the family jewels.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope he wasn't slicing the snow with his equipment!
Deletehow lovely and peaceful these are.
ReplyDeletethank you
We all need a break. These work.
DeletePlease can I have a slice of a proper Christmas, too!
ReplyDeleteSx
How big a slice?
DeleteHuge! I am feeling greedy.
