Ming Crystal is Here for All

While the Mistress will be out and about later in the day with her Japanese suitor, last week I got a few questions regarding the Casa du Borghese's official astrologer Ming Crystal. Ming is not only a fabulous fashionista, and elusive, but more importantly some wanted to know if she would allow some questions. So I've consulted and the beauty who said she would. We often have questions on our mind and keep wondering what the answer would be, more importantly, who would answer it, so my Mandarin beauty is here for all. She also specializes in dumpling making. I consult her on everything from the boys, to gin selection, to my theme parties here at the Casa.

So any questions? Miss Ming Crystal will be on stand by.

Grande Dame.......Latrice Royale!

This week's Grande Dame is a queen quickly becoming one of the Mistress's favorites. This “queen-testant”, the self-described “chunky and funky”, large and in charge, diva Lattrice Royale, has finally, deservedly, come into her own – and has quickly become a fan favorite on Rupaul's Drag Race! With her infectious, boisterous laugh, nurturing demeanor and boundless enthusiasm, this lady is large, and in charge and has definitely shown she’s got what it takes to be America’s Next Drag Superstar. This beautiful “bitch” (that’s “Being In Control of Herself” – in case you didn’t know, and once you get to know Lattrice, it’s easy to see that she’s beautiful inside and out. Lattrice is orginally a California native that was born in the early 70s. She had been studying and perfecting the art of Female Impersonation for nearly 28 years and Latrice's career started as a dare and it was during that first performance that Latrice became hooked. Since then she can be seen performing extensively, and primarily within the state of Florida. Time for Latrice Royale to spread those wings a bit further, so look out, here comes Miss Royale!

Baseball Season, Batter Uuuuuuuup!

Today is the start of baseball season. The houseboys are threatening to start a local baseball team. It would be entertaining I'm sure. Nothing like a guy wielding a big heavy bat, and knows how to use it, I say. And yes, I'm thinking sport nookie.
You didn't actually think I knew anything about baseball did you?

This season will you be pitching or catching???

After the hijinks's of last weekend, and a busy week, it was very relaxing this time round. We are now enjoying a nice bottle of Spanish red wine and the musical styling of Ms. Pat Suzuki. And my official Astrologer at the Casa, Ming Crystal.....

It's Been a Taxing Time........

....here at the Casa du Borghese, Accountant stopped in yesterday to crunch my numbers. Between my earnings, stock holdings, estate taxes, and special tips I received, it was all very taxing.

He was exhausted.

Dust off the Gowns

It's that time again....Their Most Imperial Sovereign Majesties Emperor XX Vanity Society and Empress XXV Pepperica Swirl and the membership of the Imperial Court of New York cordially invite you to the most lavish, glamorous, outrageous event in New York City! And as always complete with Cocktail Hour,Open Bar,Full-Course Dinner,Dancing, Star-Studded Entertainment and their “Famous” Viennese Dessert Buffet. When? Next Saturday, March 31, 2012. Yet again the Mistress didn't get her act together to create something fabulous to wear, and I swear as God as my witness next year I'm getting there, and meeting the fabulous Empress Robin Krandles, who will keep me abreast on some of the happenings with this worthy organization. What is the Imperial Court? The Imperial Court of New York is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that has donated over millions of dollars since its inception in 1986. The Court has gained recognition in the tri-state New York City region for it's tireless work it has done on behalf of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. What Sets Us Apart from Everyone Else? Besides the big hair, bigger jewels and the over-the-top regal attire, it is their attitude. The glitz and glamour is how they have fun, but while they're at it, they open our hearts and give their time and energy to raising money for the beneficiaries. This year's Night of a Thousand Gowns Charity Ball will benefit two very worthy organizations:

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of New York City (PFLAG NYC) is the founding chapter of PFLAG, the nation’s foremost family-based organization committed to the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Launched in New York City in 1973 by mothers and fathers who stood up for their gay children, PFLAG NYC started a national movement that now has more than 250,000 members and supporters in over 500 chapters throughout the United States. and the second for the evening is New Alternaives. This year’s Silent Auction will benefit New Alternatives for LGBT Homeless Youth. It was created in October, 2008 by a group of volunteers and professionals with experience working with homeless LGBT youth in various shelter and transitional housing settings. The mission of the organization is to increase the self-sufficiency of homeless LGBT youth to enable them to “go beyond” the shelter system and transition into stable adult lives.

The annual fundraiser and midnight coronation ceremony—where current Emperor Vanity Society and Empress Pepperica Swirl will officially hand over their scepter and crown to this year’s incoming royal couple, Imperial Crown Prince Royal Ritz Kraka and Imperial Crown Princess Royale Witti Repartee—takes over Times Square’s Marriott Marquis Broadway Ballroom for a night that’ll find several hundred creatively festive gowns wandering the Midtown hotel’s ballroom floor. It is as over-the-top as you get for a formal fundraising gala.

One of the best part of the evening is pulling out all the stops and going over the top with your best royal couture wear and the biggest hair you can handle!

The main entertainment this year is comedy’s Lovable Queen of Mean - Lisa Lampanelli!

The Honorary Chairs this year being honored are photographer Mike Ruiz, Tabatha Coffey from Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, National Radio DJ Elvis Duran,Actor Joanna Gleason ,Comedy’s Queen of Mean Lisa Lampanelli,Celebrity Fashion Stylist Lauren Rae Levy ,actress Rose McGowan, actor Christopher Sarandon, and two time Olympic and 3 time National Figure Skating Champion Johnny Weir.If you find yourself in the New York or Philadelphia area and have, for so odd reason, free time, go online and get yourself tickets and have a rip roar time with a bunch of fun loving queens and those who love us! And always for a good cause! Tootles!

Grande Dame........

The ever fabulous Prince Poppycock is a singer, songwriter, and performer best known by the stage his name and persona of Prince Poppycock, who specializes in musical theater and opera, and describes Prince Poppycock on his website as a "roguish operatic dandy." You may also remember Poppycock came to national attention in 2010 when he competed on the fifth season of America's Got Talent, where he was voted fourth place in the final four. I just love his whole elegant and elaborate persona. Poppycock played the role of Jesus in the musical The Beastly Bombing, which won the LA Weekly Theater Award for Best Musical and enjoyed two short runs Off Broadway in NYC, performed and entertained at La Belle Epoque, with Ann Magnuson at Redcat, and has opened for The Dresden Dolls, Club Dandy, Wig Out, Dirty Deeds and Jer Ber Jones. Quale has studied voice for several years with Derek Graydon. Recently, John showed his support for the Trevor Project, a nation-wide non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, through his "It Gets Better" video. And at this year's Black and White Ball in Harrisburg in conjunction with Club XS Prince Poppycock will be the headliner. I see a trip coming up soon. Be sure also to check out this talented performers website.

Why I'm Fine.........

....... thanks for asking and glad to be back! What a busy time it has been!!!! The Mistress has been a busy bird lately and can say I have been enjoying the banquet of life! I'm back, and cool, calm, and collect and enjoying a lovely cock-a-tail! What have I been up too? Well, the weather has been extremely beautiful, so I have taken my carcass outdoors to enjoy the warmer temps already with runs around the lake. I also enjoyed a set -up date with a handsome Asian lad, who's name is Koy.

A good time was had, and we have already said we will have a repeat performance, errr, I should say date!!! Then there was the Mother's birthday which she had no idea I was coming to visit with her. I made her a lovely Sunday brunch with bottomless Mimosa's. Yes dear ones, we were pretty lit!

Music has also been part of my absence of late. I was treated to a wonderful concert at the Whitaker Center to see Zuill Bailey who is widely considered one of the premiere cellists in the world. His rare combination of celebrated artistry, technical wizardry as well as his engaging personality has secured his place as one of the most sought after and active cellists today. He was joined by Awadagin Pratt who is a Pittsburgh native and graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music, is an award-winning musician who performs regularly at distinguished festivals and concert halls throughout the world. It was an amazing hour and half spent listening to their selections of masterpieces for cello and piano by Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann.

Work was another busy week, once again. I also have started a free lance interior design project for a client, which was also eating at my week, and in addition, taking on a charity project through work called Bag Hunger. We are hoping to raise somewhere around 10,000lbs of food for a learning center for children that runs on strictly donations of money, and food. In some cases, at this center, it's the only meals these kids get, and time spent being read and taught too, as their parents are really hurting to make ends meet. We are also donation time to help organize the place for them, do some housekeeping and building cleaning, handy man projects, painting, and spending time with the kids. So far we have been overwhelmed with support with store associates wanting to help, and the company to matching all our money donations!!! It's great to lend a hand.

This weekend it was off to Balitmer, the Mistress was away with a long overdue time spent being squired by J, who after a few, confessed his love yet again. Oh dear. And we were joined by the ever cute Harrisburg Uptown Boys. The day was spent drinking and then touring the Aquarium in the Inner Harbor which you can read about soon on Gals About Town, and then drinking some more. The weekend went pretty well, and J settled down eventually and dropped the subject of seriously dating. The Mistress loves her boys, but am more in love with the life in them!!!

While enjoying the Saint Patty's festivities, most of the table ordered pitchers of this milky looking drink, but I just couldn't do it.

I went with a mint cooler. Made with what else....gin!

It was a lovely time being out, but after so many mint coolers and then switching to gin, I could only remember so much from the evening, but I'm told a good time was had by all, and I kept most of my clothing on!!! The Mistress was just a wee, tad bit hung yesterday and what a loooooong trip home back to the Casa du Borghese. Nothing worse when driver can't maintain a steady speed, making the Mistress dizzier than normal. After resting up, it was back to work today. In between all this chaos was a dinner with the ex-Boy-Toy and some shopping, dinner and drinks with the Lad, and a drag show. Now after being gone, off and on, I have a slew of blog reading to catch up on and track down that wily Cali-Boi, who I understand has been full of mischief. Tootles!

Returning soon I swear!

Grande Dame....Manila Luzon

Manila Luzon is the Asian Glamasaurus whose fashion & beauty garner the attention of everyone in the room. A party girl at heart, Manila is found all over the New York City club scene in some outrageous creations: kimonos made of Ramen Noodle wrappers, or in some fierce drag such as sequined gowns. A staple to the City's nightlife for the last six years, you know it's a worthwhile party if this bitch pumps through with a half dozen stuffed Hello Kittys in her updo. Originally from Minneapolis, Manila began on the stage of The Gay 90s. Soon after a fresh-faced start, she moved to New York City. Never one to shy away from attention, Manila began to cultivate unique looks that made riding the subway from her apartment in the Bronx a visual all-you-can-eat-buffet! She is also the better half of NYC's power drag lesbian duo, Manila Luzon has been dating the infamous Sahara Davenport from RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2 for years and years! The two are usually seen together at the gayest of spots holding each other's hands and each other's drinks! The couple was even featured in the New York Times "What Happens When Drag Queens Date Drag Queens." You may also remember Manila was the 1st runner-up on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race against Raja. You can get all the tea about Manila and her appearances where abouts from her fabulous website.

And check out her new, long awaited single Hot Couture! It's actually pretty good! And I do remember young drag queens starting out like this!!! My mother was relieved. You may also recognize Miss Jiggley Caliente in a scene.
