SWING TIME

WHAT'S HOT?

Is there anything better than one of those summer traditions than the good old hammock? And I'm not talking about a banana hammock!!!!  Hammocks are a good way to enjoy the summer weather and have a sleep in amoung other things. Although I did have a good time in one once.....not the easiest thing to do. Can you say ouch when the thing flips!!! I came across these in a publication and thought they were way to cool.

Loving this blue one!!!

The company that makes them is Hang a Hammock Collective and is relatively  new, a young collective of craft women and craftsmen based in Masaya, Nicaragua. They produce and sell hammocks, hanging chairs and macrame cribs. Together they design, weave and ship the items. Each item is 100% hand made. And a great plus is 10% of the price is accumulated and used for community projects. The threads are made twisting cotton wires by artisans through with a old machine everyday. The wooden bars are turned each one. The body of the hammocks is hand woven by expert craftsmen on their team.

Besides being well made they also take measures to minimize environmental impact and  use only recycled paper and very few sealing tape to pack your hammock and they buy only hardwood not in risk of extinction for the spreader bars. The best part is on request they will design your hammock on your taste because  it is made it their own workshops. I absolutely love the colors they use and the hanging tassels add just the right amount of flair, don't you think???

In a couple of weeks I'll being heading to the Pocono Mountains to join my good friends at their campsite for some glamping and debachery. I'm thinking this would make a great gift , for he is always hosting me with his accommodations.

Or this scene would work for me any day too.....

Ahhhhhh, is that heaven, or is that heaven. Loving the wine chiller.

Anyone wanna join me???

TIME AT THE SEA SIDE

Well, well ,well, the Mistress is back and is happy to report a good time was had by all, and being the sun worshipper I am, am getting sinfully dark!!!!! This vacation was filled with nothing but lazy days on the beach.........

something very rejuvenating about the ocean. yes? I made a scene when we had to leave...kicking and screaming...

It is very relaxing in the early morning. The beach is the only place this corpse rises early.....something so nice walking around the beach when it's deserted... just soaking in the sea air and hearing the tides hit......but you best get to Poodle Beach, the gay section, by 10 -11AM, because it fills up quick!!!!!! That's where your Mistress goes from relaxed to aroused looking at the hundreds of gay men making this weekly destination ritual....

I was joined by the Lad, and yes......we did do OTHER things besides sport nookie, and a friend of his Doug. Doug's friends have a lovely rental house there which was so nice of them to give us a steal for the week! It was a cute , quaint place....

And not to bad since there was only three gay guys this time, because the two beds were in the same room, although the Lad and I passed out slept out of the screened in porch one night, and probably scarred the neighbors. The Lad even brought along his mini Dachshund, Posey! And she is a wiry little thing, can't imagine WHERE she gets that from???? But she had never seen the beach before, so we took her to the private beach that boarders Rehoboth..... Does she remind you of anybody else????

Of course , like clock work, ONE SIMPLY HAS TO ATTEND the legendary Blue Moon happy hour, its the place to see and be seen, followed by dinner, and then more drinks back at the Blue Moon and then Aqua, because I can never GET ENOUGH of my cute bartender Chandler!!!

And our friend James captured a picture of the three of us back at the house. No trip would be complete without some gratuitous shot.....

This came from James's Intagram page! He was showing me the whole thing, and I love that you can change the finish of pictures to give them a different look, like glossy, black and white, old, ect!!!! How cool! Am I the last to know about this?!?! Probably.

But it was so nice to see the Lad.
just imagine...
hypnotic music
light dimming

so mind altering cock-a-tails
beach + plus moon and stars

the heat of our bodies

it was a magical, sexy time where we ....

Oh.... I can't tell you, I'm too shy.

I'M BACK AND WITH A PARLOR GAME-REVEALED!

I'm happy to say I'm safe and sound back at the Casa du Borghese, but now have to finish getting the sand shaken out of the cracks and unpack, so till I get my bearing, and a gin gimlet or two, gather in the parlor for another game!!!!! This song back in the day was my FAVORITE song when dancing. When it came on, you knew you were being herald to the dance floor , where I would work it like a church service! But this is the regular version, the perfect, chic, cool summer song to listen to coming  back in the Lad's Mini Cooper. The game part is who can guest who the female singer is in the video??? Double points if you know the white and the black girl. And is the boy getting out of the pool adorable  or what! I just love this video..... AND NO CHEATING! To the winner will be a night of my company at the Casa, and , oh what the hell I'll even throw in a  houseboy!!!! If you don't know, listen anyway, you could probably use a little musical interdule break anyway! I'll update it in later tonight..........

UPDATE......
IT'S NONE OTHER T HAN THE FABLUOUS MICHELLE VISAGE,

Judge of RuPaul's Drag Race and of the late 80's music group Seduction, and the Soul System. Well, I'll save the award for next time, but I suppose I can keep the main doors unlocked!

GUILTY PLEASURE-VICIOUS

With summer here, I watch next to no tv, But come Sunday evening I have to catch Vicious!!!!

I love myself some British comedy, and anything with this much smart insults in just delicious. Insult humor has never been more elegant than it is in this new half-hour show about longtime gay partners Freddie and Stuart, who communicate mostly through extreme snide remarks aimed at each other's age, looks and flaws. Ian McKellen is at his bombastic best as aging actor Freddie, the more aggressive of the two. The charming Derek Jacobi complements him perfectly as his put-upon companion. “I never know when I'm going too far,” Freddie says with a smirk after delivering an especially harsh zinger, “but I'm always glad when I do.”

Freddie was a budding actor and Stuart worked in a bar when they first met, but their careers are pretty much over and their lives now consist of entertaining their frequent guests, making sure that their aged dog Balthazar is still breathing, and hurling caustic insults at each other.

Rounding out the cast is the adorable Ash, their hot new neighbor, they were hoping would be gay, but is straight.

Violet Crosby , (who is the best side kick I have seen since Karen Walker), a close friend of Freddie and Stuart, who has designs on Ash, their young, handsome neighbor ,Penelope , a dotty old friend of Freddie and Stuart, who can't remember anything, and their friend Mason ,another elderly friend of Freddie and Stuart, who is often as sharp-tongued as they are. I couldn't tell you the last show I laughed so much too, and the wise cracks are so damn funny. The Lad has already said I remind him of Violet, especially where they were getting ready to go out, and Violet says :" Let me just have one more sip" then proceeds to down the whole cocktail. Stuart then says, 'Would you like to just drink from the bottle dear?" Here's some quick clips of moment from season one so far.....

Has anyone seem this show yet?

FLORA AND FEATHERS

Well, you'll be happy to know that all is well at the Casa du Borghese with the flora and feathered ones! Although while away the birds were not happy with no seed left before my arrival back. The gardens are also in their second phase of bloom....

Meanwhile , the golden finches have finally returned......

Bonnie and Clyde have really gotten used to my presence. I do believe if I left the windows open, they would come right in.... I love their cooing in the early mornings.

Clyde

Both of their babies have survived , more juveniles now, they are all used to me. Rhett and Scarlett are the offspring. Nice to see they survived. Most dove babies in a brod don't make it. Down below on the gorund, and at times on the window sill I get upwards of 10 mourning doves.

Rhett tends to roost and sleep on the window sill

Two of the house finch that visit

This fellow showed up last week with another and a baby. I believe it may be a Cedar Waxwing. I have also started putting out other seed that contains dried berries and fruit, pieces of nuts. What's interesting to see is that one parent will fly to the sill, grab a large seed, and fly to the tree, where it will proceed to break it open and feed it to the baby. Pretty neat. They also have a pretty song.

The larger seeds have also brought a Blue Jay and mate to the bedroom window. They have been known to peck at the window when there is no seed. Very vocal in the afternoons.

One of the many sparrows that visit. I can sometimes get up to 12 of them on the kitchen window sill at a time. Sometime even the doves join them. Talk about a feeding trough.

A friend of mine also stopped in one day with these lovely fresh two day old eggs from her chickens.....

Oh dear, I hope the birds looking in didn't see this!!!!!!

Some wild flowers from the lake.

Boy , you gotta love summer!!!!!! And those wonderful afternoon power naps!
