Some Facebook Humor

Facebook is probably a wonderful thing, or so I hear. Ya see, the Mistress is probably one of three people not yet on facebook. Now mind ya, I don't have anything against facebook or those on it, I just #1, don't have the time, #2, I talk to most of my family and friends now that I want to talk to, #3, I'm just more of a blogger type of person. Some of my friends must ask me once a week to join facebook and it just won't happen. Maybe some day, but for now, I think this is more the Mistress ....

Some other doziess!

Mondays Should be Like Candy

Hope you guys had a lovely weekend. We were back on the road again countryside to visit the Boy-Toy's family for a lovely pinic and then the rest of the time was spent poolside with some refreshing cock-a-tails with friends. Alas I'm not ready for the week to begin. I'll trying my best to have a good start of the week... some caffeine and candy today, and I'll be just fine!...as usual, the weekend ends too quickly huh?! Every Monday should be like the game board Candyland don't you think?

Tea party anyone? Stunning Petit fours!

Rock candy blooms!

A very hot lolli

Cotton candy storm

Licking a lolli.

Salt water taffy arrangement

Clear toy jewels!

A gummi chandaleir

I think this video should sum up my mood. Every Monday should be like this.....

Out of Towne....Again

Boy, it was a loooooong week, but the Mistress survived her first full week back to work! I love my job, but think there is so much more I could be doing and seeing, but the job just sorta gets in the way you know? Anywho, the weather has been just beautiful and the heat has broken here. This weekend were off- again- this time for the Boy-Toy's family's place for a wonderful summer wing-ding and some delish little nibbles, and nothing completes a picnic like some real nice ice cold beers! Sunday will be spent poolside again. I can't wait to show off my new wide brim, big enough for four people to fit under!!! Like the one designer Trinia Turk wears.

While were not suppose to get rain, if we do, that should keep us dry! SOOOOOOOO, lets get this weekend started, can we? I hope you all have a devilishly good time this weekend! See ya Monday. Tootles!

The Glass Pavilion

You heard that old saying people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones right? In this case it's true. I came across a story of this place this week and just had to share. As a lover of interior design and architecture I just feel in love with this hip and sexy pad. Known for his modern designs, Los Angeles- based and self taught architect Steve Hermann finished his latest project in Montecito, Calif., about four months ago. This lot measures about three-and-a-half acres and gave him the space he needed to create a home featuring walls of glass. The 13,875-square-foot home features five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, a kitchen with a wine room and an art gallery that displays the architect’s vintage car collection.

While the comparisons to one of Mies van der Rohe’s most famous works are apparent, Hermann’s work remains a singular success in architecture. The home is an open white stunner, with rooms that feature unrestricted views of the oak and fern Montecito landscape.

I think I could definitely live in this house. How cool would that be? It might be like living in a fish bowl. If it was out in the middle of no where, I would feel better, as I do like to walk around in my undies, and sometimes nothing at all if a fancy!!! It would be so relaxing to sit in that tub, staring out at the outdoors! And it would be like cooking in a outdoor kitchen. Or what if your getting your sport nookie on....blush, I guess one can dream........... except when it comes to cleaning the windows! How much Windex would that take?

He originally built the home for himself, but while the six-year project was underway, he says, his plans changed. The home is now listed for $35 million, and the furnishings are negotiable. Sotheby's International Realty has the listing.

Blogger Uproar in Philadelphia

Have you all heard about the uproar in Philadelphia about the blogging bussiness tax? While this doesn't affect the Mistress, she is just outside city limits and I don't advertise on my blog, I would love to hear what you think. This is from the Washington Examiner.

Bloggers in Philadelphia are upset over a city business fee that they say is an unfair tax on their Internet musings. The city's so-called business privilege license costs $50 a year or $300 for a lifetime. If a blog takes money for advertising, or sells photographs or other goods, it's a business and must pay for a license — no matter how little it makes — plus taxes on profits. A spokesman for Mayor Michael Nutter says the license is nothing new and is required for any moneymaking enterprise, from large corporations to neighborhood pizza joints and all other kinds of mom-and-pop businesses. But the idea of the city mandating a license for people who blog in their spare time and garner some income, no matter how minuscule, rankled the blogosphere, though it was clear there is a distinction that some bloggers are pros, while others are just hobbyists.
The uproar began after the city Revenue Department recently sent out letters to Philadelphia residents who reported business revenue with the Internal Revenue Service but hadn't gotten a city business license. Some bloggers are complaining that the fee would impinge on their free speech and would discourage dissent. They also say it's unfair to require a business to pay taxes if it's making only $25-$50 a year.
What do yuo think about this?

Grande Dame of the Week!

Oh dear. The Mistress has oodles of blog reading to catch up on but here is this week's Grande Dame, the stunning and electrifying, Miss Detox!

I just love Detox's style and talent! She can pull off so many different looks and their all so different from each other. She does a mean female Joker!!! Detox hails from the west coast in Los Angles where she has been doing unique, campy drag for several years now. You must see a Detox show, you will have a wonderful time and have your hands full. Detox even appeared in Rhianna's Disturbia video. With her Joker look is it any wonder? Detox can be seen all over downtown LA and if all goes well with auditions, she could be a dragtestant on RuPaul's Drag Race season 3. Good luck honey! I think you would add some real flavor to this show.

Vacation Over....Back to Reality!

Well all my dear ones, the Mistress appears to be off vacation now, and has returned back to reality! I survived my first day back to work and on a Monday no less!!! I can't tell you how relaxed I feel, and it is wonderful to have the time to take. One really does need more than just a few days to truly feel relaxed. The Mistress had several locale changes from the beach, to visiting some family and friends in town, to most of the time spent in the Pocono Mountains for not one, but two events. The first was the toga party, and the second was the Illuminations, which is just a beautiful thing to see. All the roadways are lined with luminary bags, and each site does it's own display of a mix OF candles, torches and lights. It's almost magical to see it all. That night capped off with a Pink Party, with music, drinks, and everyone wearing pink to some degree. And if no pink was present in the attire, that poor sucker had to go naked!!!!!! Talk about some sites! Now mind ya, I get asked all the time how I, the Mistress can stand to go camping. Now, after all, it is GAY camping. Our hosts, D&G have a fabulous site with a cabin, a huge trailer that sleeps 6, both of which sit on a newly installed deck. They also have a wonderful fire pit and a dining gazebo with a stunning crystal chandelier!!!!! This bitch doesn't do a tent! I need a full size mirror to check myself in,running water and air!!! And a comfy bed to rest her head for the hung mornings. But I will say this, it's always a good time. And being one with the great outdoors. And I can't begin to tell ya how many wonderful people we have met. Just get a gander of the scenery.

One of my favorite things to see is what the Woods nicknamed Streamhenge. What a beautiful secluded spot in the woods along the stream. Most of these intricate rock sculptures were created by two hotties who are regular campers there. It's hard to see the size of these things in the pictures. And they are balanced ever soooooooo carefully. No one sneeze now.

Most Friday and Saturday nights end with a huge bon-fire where all us gays gather to have some cock-a-tails and do some socializing. And believe me, you wouldn't believe how hot the fire gets! I'm here to tell ya, I have felt my arm hair singe already!!! The Woods also has a suprisingly excellent dance club where we all shake a leg, or something!

So now that most of my vacation is shot it's back into civilization again and back into the rat race........ at least till Labor Day!!!

Flying In and Flying Out?

I just love birds! And all kinds too. I guess because I feel like a bird recently being all over the place. The Mistress has got to say her vacation has been just fabulous and just as relaxing. She has been seaside, mountainside, poolside, and barside! I have got to see many friends and family, and enjoyed cock-a-tails with them all. She even survived the toga party where I must admit, there were many fine men to choose from, but alas, the Mistress ended up passed out in a bush somewhere near the party, lost two of her best baubles, and her toga- well, lets just say it was very tattered and saw better days! Who knows what happened. There were after all at least 39 different wines to taste from!!!!! Anywho, this post will be short and sweet darlings, as I'm just in, and now have a day to recover and recuperate, get the laundry done, plus a few odds and ends before departing again this weekend to The Woods Campground for their beautiful and legendary Illuminations Weekend. Just wanted to let you know we are having a swell time, and all I know is Monday will suck, I mean, be very hard to get back in the groove of things. Ill return sometime next week. In the meantime, I have these wonderful pictures to share of birds, who I feel related to at this moment. The images are just stunning and from the talent of Magnus Muhr who also did the Fly Art I posted about some weeks ago. Aren't they amazing? So now I must fly, fly, fly away little birdies. Till then, take care all and have a fabulous weekend! When I get things back in order I'll post some pictures. And rest assured, the Mistress has broken any laws, but I may have cracked a few! Tootles!
