AN EVENING INTERLUDE....

....with one of my favorite groups this time of year, The New Christie Minstrels!!! Grab a few cock-a-tails and get ready for some soft shoe. How can one be sour with this upbeat sound? I'm also very inspired by that hair updo with balls! I also think Pam Demic is somewhere voguing to these songs.

    1. We knew that song as 'Here we come a-wassailing' [= house-to-house carol singing].

  4. I think Pam should do a take on that fab hair-do. Love this stuff. It's a wonderful time of year... and the music just makes us all so happy. I feel guilty that I am not doing more this year... but then... what is there to do? Kizzes. Happy Holidays!

  5. Oh I love the Minstrels!!!!! The old classics I'll take over newer holidays songs any day. The new songs or remakes are ok...but just don't have this nostalgic feel.Their harmonies

  6. I remember this group from way back in the 1960s when they were a really big name, including being top billing at the London Palladium. Then they somehow faded from at least this country's [U.K.] consciousness. My memory of is of their singing happy-happy songs but don't ever recall their doing Xmas ones - most prob'ly 'cos it just wasn't the season. I see that after, of course, many transformations they are still around, still making merry. Good.

    1. I don't know what is it with them...i guess the memories...but their christmas songs I always loved. I don't know if their still around performing or not. These songs here were out when i was a wee one. Good for getting in a good mood.

  8. You'd love Serenade Radio [as I featured in a post earlier this month] - wall-to-wall Perry Como, Doris Day, Val Doonican, Ray Conniff, Rosie Clooney, Fifth Dimension, Nat King Cole, Swingle Singers, Petula Clark, and so on.

Spookily, I just clicked on the link, and guess what? New Christy Minstrels were playing!
