Bah Humbug to getting up today! The bed was all cozy and warm, and I sure didn't want to get my naked body out of it!!!! But to my delight it is only to be a two-day work week this week, and next week, a three-day work week. That's all the Christmas gift I need. I'll drink to that. This week is always a favorite of mine...it will be extra relaxing...we only have 5 coming for Christmas supper, and I have three friends in on Christmas eve for the "family recipe" of eggnog. Otherwise, I will take my baked goodies, candles and greens around to friends and neighbors this week. Let them know they are cherished. It's nice to let people know they are friends., so as all of you are, I feel friends too. For to be without friends is a serious form of poverty.

VANESSA
Grid your loins......
Anyone who has been a regular reader here for years will tell you, I'm obsessed with Vanessa Williams. I dare say she is the most beautiful, stunning woman in entertainment. Anyone who can come back after her Playboy scandal and tell the Miss America Pageant system they can take their crown and shove it, and go on to have one hell of a huge, successful career, is ok in my book. She can do no wrong. Now she is poised to take on the role of the queen of fashion Miranda Priestly in London's West End stage adaption of The Devil Wears Prada, the new musical based on the book and movie, with original score by none other than Elton John, this fall, before it starts to travel. I'd say the role is tailored made for Ms. Williams, from her plum role of the delicious Wilhelmina Slater on one of what was probably one of my favorite shows ever, Ugly Betty. But ohhhh happy day.... she is here tonight with her newest song....LEGS!
Damn girl...work it but don't wreak it.
And honey, if your reading...I'm gonna need that fabu headpiece.

LATE NIGHT- VANESSA WILLIAMS
One of my favorite Christmas songs, and one not heard much anymore. Always puts me to a calm and melancholic mood. So pretty and couldn't be sung any more beautifully by another favorite of mine, Vanessa Williams.

MOOD BOARD
Christmas week is here. Usually this time every year when I was working, this would be when everything is starting to wind down, the store would actually start getting quieter, and I would just relax till time to travel home. Needless to say , with no work, it's been much more calm anyhow...but for some reason, a wash of more calm and peace came over me all of a sudden yesterday. I feel more peaceful and calm then I have in some time. If my mind and mood could be seen in pictures...this would be what you'd see. I leave you with these for today.

WEEKEND EXCURSION
Well dear readers, by time this post, the Mistress will have been off this weekend for another out of town Christmas soirée Friday night at my good friends, The Capital Street Duo's, for one of the Dames famous Christmas parties, followed by a New York City trip to enjoy the beauty and debauchery of the Big Apple. This time it's just myself and the Dame going...without his husband...what could possibly go wrong???
In the meantime till I return, as your well aware, I DO NOT care for many modern Christmas songs...if I hear Mariah scream and screech through her song again...I'll take an ice pick to my ears!!!!.Call me old fashioned, or 150 years ago...but the classic old ones capture the feeling of the holiday to me. Here are my three favorite Christmas ditties. Starting with my very favorite...Ray Coniff Singers, Christmas Bride.
Followed by my favorite performer and wife in my head, the beautiful Vanessa Williams singing, I Wonder as I Wander.
And Christmas Eve In My Home Town sung by Kate Smith, is third. It was my grandmothers favorite, and she even looked like Kate, so I'm always reminded of her with good memories.
Enjoy and be in good health......and if your still looking for some cheap and tasteless holiday frivolity, join the lovely Mistress Mj for her Annual Christmas Party over at the Infomaniac. See you all next week!!!!

Vanessa Williams Moves to Wisteria Lane!

The best damn news, my fix will get a boost!!!There goes the neighborhood! An ABC rep confirms that when Desperate Housewives returns next season, its cast will include — as a series regular, no less — Vanessa Freakin’ Williams! Series creator Marc Cherry told us previously that he was looking for a new troublemaker to fill the void left by the demise of Nicollette Sheridan’s Edie. And seriously, could he — or anyone — do any better than the actress formerly known as Ugly Betty‘s queen of mean, Wilhelmina? Didn’t think so. Though other deets are at the moment scarce, TV Guide Magazine (which first broke the news) reports that her conniving character won’t be at the center of next season’s big mystery. So what do you think, girls? This sounds soooooooooo good to me, it borders on too good to be true.

A Sad Day- Adios Betty Suarez.

Well, the day I was dreading has come and tonight will be the final episode of Ugly Betty. It is still a popular show, but ABC and the powers that be have said the rating have slipped, so Betty is getting the axe. Nooooooooooooo! This has been my favorite show in I don't know how long. It will be like losing family. The show I feel was always very well done, well written and the parts couldn't have been cast better. And their hasn't been this kind of fashion on tv since the Carrington's and the Colby's of Dynasty. And it has been great to watch Betty bloom and grow.

And all the characters could have a good and a bad side. But the thing I'll miss the most is the ultra stunning, beautiful and gorgeous Vanessa Williams who played Wilhelmenia Slater. Did she sink her teeth into this part or what? And how can one forget all the shenanigans her and Mark got into not to mention all the botox shots he used to give her.

Then there is Mark and Amanda and all there dramas. I really did buy there gay boy and best girl pal relationship.

The show got to me plenty also over the years like when Hilda's boyfriend and Justin's father was shot and she received the news. Or the time Daniel surprised his mother Claire with a special dinner just for the two of them. But last week took the prize when Justin finally came out to his family at his mothers wedding, by asking his boyfriend Austin to slow dance. Everyone teared up, including myself. The Boy -Toy though I was nuts. It was just so damn cute and touching and lets face it, we all wish we could have come out like that. Plus Justin also got his first kiss.

And the twist keep coming. Claire had another child? Willie was at one time ugly? But the biggest twist was when Alexis turned out to be Daniel's brother who had had a sex change. Over time, they got along great. And the part was played brilliant by Rebecca Romijn.

Then there was Hilda and all the hot men she had. I really loved her character. A smart mouth, sassy and has balls!

And how can you forget all the guest stars who came on and actually made sense to be there. Lanie Kazan, Victoria Beckham, Christian Siriarno. Not to mention all the drag queens you graced the episode where Wilhelmina found out she was being impersonated by one! Ahhhhhhhh good times. I thank ABC for the entertainment this show brought, the style, the talent. Another great show bites the dust and goes to the little place where they go in the sky. Now I will prepare to watch the final episode and then go salk in a corner somewhere. Thanks for the memories Ugly Betty.
