This week will be a new one for me. A calm and peace week. In the past with every job it's always been a busy one with past positions I've held. So far this season it's been enjoyable to take some day trips and such to get out and soak in the holiday scenes and get things done in a timely manner. All that's left me is the market trip for the roast beef and other provisions for the Christmas Eve and day dinners. Yesterday was a lovely day spent in Philadelphia with friends and past co-workers...and copious amounts of holiday spirits. And I'm guessing Tundra Bunny might comment on the moose. I have always been fascinated by them and would love to see one in person. I know they are much larger in person then they appear in pictures.
I adore that chair
ReplyDeleteAn attractive pair of baubles amongst that selection... 😋 Jx
ReplyDeletePerky baubles at that!
DeleteOhhh myyyy....!
ReplyDeleteNow, that's an Airstream I'd like to ride.
XOXO
The airstream in the snow, or the one on the couch?
DeleteYou do seem to have a lot of Mooses.
ReplyDeleteTundra Bunny here... I hope you get to see a moose in the flesh someday, Mistress! I've only ever seen bull and cow moose from a safe distance on northern highways. They'll amble out of a ditch, lope along the road til they're damned good and ready to get out of the way, LOL! Moose are normally quite shy, reclusive creatures that are most frequently observed at dusk or dawn, and will fade deep into the woods when hunting season opens. A bull moose is HUGE and unpredictable! For scale, their bellies are a few inches higher than the engine hood on a Dodge Ram truck. It takes four to six Timberwolves to bring down an adult bull moose and I've seen footage of a wolf that latched onto the end of a bull moose's nose being swung around (and off) like Buster Borghese with a chew toy, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI figured they were huge!!!! I have no idea why they fascinate me so. But it breaks my heart they are hunted. And at that size, I'd say they probably should own the road.
DeleteMoose are starting to show up in greater numbers nowadays in the southern parts of our prairie provinces because of climate change. When I was a kid, they were all further north in the forested parkland parts of the provinces. This is not a good development for several reasons, one being that it's very dangerous to hit a moose on the highway. The impact can kill both the driver and the moose. Because their legs are so long, their bodies come right through the windshield of even large vehicles. Yikes. So it's best to enjoy moose at a distance or in photos only.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't even imagine seeing one of the road way. Hell, I'm always tickled when I just see a deer.
DeleteA moose nearly collided with our school bus once when I was in Middle school. That was exciting! I think I want to sit in one of the chairs in the first picture with a blanket, hot drink and good company. I don't know why, but that red and striped chair disturbs me. I feel like the circulation to some poor scrotum folk is taking place with the unbreathably taunt fabric. One needs a proper draping, like the way that man is pleasingly draping over that sofa.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun cute chair, but your right, my scrotum folk hurt just looking at it.
DeleteThose green cakes look dee-lish
ReplyDeleteI adore those elephants too!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I think you're better off handling what's on the couch girl, not the moose.
ReplyDeleteI love this mood board...quiet and calming. Love all the pine and the pine trees. And yes, I'd probably own that red striped chair...how fun. Now if I could get out of it would be another story.
ReplyDeleteLove the Rudolph gifs! Really liked the sofa cakes.
ReplyDeletenext thing you know, you'll be riding a moose side saddle.
ReplyDeleteI love the little girl looking in the toy shop window. It's very evocative of a time of innocence.
ReplyDeleteI also love the pics of the moose. That last close up, wow! They are majestic beasts.
I did comment on winters garden but it's disappeared. Must be the naughty Christmas elves.....
It probably went into the spam mail. I'll have to check. I had thoughts of you all day while at Longwood Gardens. Were your ears burning? You's love it there.
DeleteBless you, Madds. X
Deletewhat nice set of pics & gifs!
ReplyDeleteThese are a joy. We saw Moose wherever we went in Northern Norway. Had to watch out for them when we drove around. They ARE enormous. All those snowy winter scenes are charming, but for some reason I’m in the middle “tuck myself into” that green sofa.
ReplyDeleteMitchell, I can't imagine why? You have been very randy of late.
DeleteI have, haven’t I?
DeleteI love calm and peace. This week is going well for me, too. It's our slow season at work, which is relaxing and it gives me time to be in the blogosphere. I have a new Christmas sweater. It's black and has a lighter colored moose on the front. He's wearing a red-and-white scarf. Whose fine ass is that? I want a man for Christmas. Tell Santa.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I love the elf on the shelf and what's on the sofa.
ReplyDeletePresumably Mother Christmas was in Oz - the idea of Christmas in the southern hemisphere just isn't right.
ReplyDeleteHermey is such a gay icon. He was the first gay I think I saw on television... although Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly were in there, too. I remember watching as a kid. I knew what he was. And I knew why the other elves didn't like him. He was me; he was a gay. So, while I wanted to not like him, I knew we were too similar for me to keep him at arm's length. Once I associate? We are family. Kizzes.
