Yes I did almost get hit! But I loved the street vibe and feel of this capture. Last week was one of the best trips in some time to NYC that I really enjoyed. It wasn't rushed, and it was a "see where we end up" kind of time. Thought the clan was kind enough to take me into the village one night to make it rain with some go-go boys. Nothing says Christmas cheer like holding a nice South American 9"er in your hands or getting a private lap dance! I love to support starving artiste. But I digress. Some of the snaps and time I enjoyed....
Words to live by.
While in the West Village we came upon a stunning home furnishings shop, John Derian Company...I was smitten. Everything in the space was aged to look as if it had been there since the building was built in the 19th century, instead of being freshly installed. John Derian, the owner and designer had fell in love with the building almost 20 years ago. The shops sell everything for the home from actual furniture and antiques, his decoupage collection on everything from art, dishes, glassware, linens, pillows, and other decorative home items, in addition to seasonal decorations and lovely candles, some that even look like life like desserts!! I came home with a nice little bag of treasures. I haven't been so excited over a new store like this in an age.
Sounds like a wonderful and memorable time!
ReplyDeletepost photos of wardrobe - looks like a great trip
ReplyDeleteBoy isn't somebody feeling naughty today? With or without the stretchy pants?
DeleteWhat beautiful pictures Mistress! You certainly have me itching to get to New York City one more time, but at my age now who knows if I'll ever get there again. I never Tire of seeing the wreaths around the Lions at the New York Public Library. I sure do love the looks of John Dieren Company. What a lovely shop. Looks like one of those you can get lost in for a while. Again a lovely post and you're keeping the holiday spirit alive in this old bird.
ReplyDeleteI always like New York City and I have never seen it a Christmas, but the boy is yearning to see it now. Just the Rockefeller Center and the Wall Street trees and that Bakery would be worth it just alone!
ReplyDeleteSooooooo.....about this wearing of stretchy pants and a jockstrap.. could we request the picture of that or possibly of just the wearing of the jock strap?
#12: I can see two PANDORI (take a look here). It's not a Panettone (here)
ReplyDeleteOh great....now your making me want a Panettone.
DeleteI wish I could bring a panettone directly from mine & Panettone's city: Milano!
DeleteOoh, it all looks so delicious. There’s nothing like The City at Christmas. By the way, I would go with just one or the other — stretchy pants OR a jockstrap.
ReplyDeleteI remember when the mistress one time posted a picture in the jockstrap it was quite the nice bubble if I recall. I'm in agreement with you.
DeleteWell, at least the jock strap will support and stop the swinging.
DeleteI used to worry about the swinging. I don’t care anymore.
DeleteI think you had me from the very opening picture. A guy friend and I took off this year and we will be in New York Christmas week so you just really sent me in the mood now. And I will definitely be checking out that pastry shop Angelina, that looks amazing. And you went to see Go-Go's? I love how you say you have to support the local artiste! Lmao!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePat says,
ReplyDeleteGosh, it all looks so festive. Yep. I'm trying to get in the mood. Hell, I even made cookies last night. It's not working. *sigh*
Loving the shop; I could get lost in there.
ReplyDeleteNow, we all know you're be wearing just the jock strap!
Is there a camera in here?
DeleteNice pictures, and one of them just reminded me... you have bottle brush Christmas trees to share with us soon, right?
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh, you know the bottle brushes are out! I got some new ones too.
DeleteVery nice! I'll take a pistachio crème tort, if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the green cake but the one behind it looks yummy. Waiting for my Christmas food to be delivered but the postmen and women are on strike (and with good reason, ditto nurses, ditto rail men and women and ditto everyone else on strike in this winter of our discontent.
ReplyDeleteGood grief...is anyone working in the UK Helen? I hadn't heard of all of that. Of course we just avoided our very own rail strike here.
DeleteCity decorations like these make a lovely Christmas feeling for me.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful! If you're crossing the street and someone almost hits you, be sure to use your best Dustin Hoffman voice to yell at the driver.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
My nephew was just in NYC this past weekend, seeing the Rockefeller tree with his girlfriend. You may have walked right past each other! :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful.
Maybe one day you and hubby will it see at Christmas ! Its always so pretty.
DeleteAhhh
ReplyDeleteLove this! You just gave me Sex and the City and a little bit of nostalgia. It's been four years since I went to NY and I have promised myself that I'll go back some day. Nothing like the feel of that city.
XOXO
It felt like SITC too , with the five of us Clan milling about, shopping drinking and talking of sex and men and go -go's.
DeleteTundra Bunny here... Just colour me pea green with envy, Mistress Maddie! Your photos are fabulous -- especially the Xmas tree at Rockefeller Centre and the wreathed lions at the NYC Public Library. I could spend hours just browsing all the baubles and treasures at John Derian Company!
ReplyDeleteI found the cutest little things there Tundra. And I could have spent hours in there. Pretty cool and unusual things to see there.
DeleteI want to go into the city one day before Christmas. LOVE the street art!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! I'm now in the mood to see the city...if I didn't live so far. The city and its decor really put me in the spirit. I always recall when I was little, the cities and little towns would put up their holiday trimmings. Good memories.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holiday Mistress! The street art picture of the "Today is a beautiful day to be alive" What great words and an inspiring thing to see.
ReplyDeleteOh, the John Derian Company shop is just gorgeous! I bet you were in there for ages?!
ReplyDeleteAnd the cakes... Oh, those cakes!
Oh dear they sticking out again?
DeleteI SOOOOOO need a trip to the city soon. I love Philly girl, but I need a change of scenery, and this would get me into the spirit. Such pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteNothing like Christmas in New York City. You pictures always set the mood for me.
