CHRISTMAS EVE

Happy Christmas Eve 🌲

One of my favorite days of the year. I just love the feeling it has and wished some days, everyday could feel like this. It's been a relaxing day. The Lad and I took the pooches for a lovely walk around the park. We saw several deer, which I had no idea were so close to the mother's house. Could they be Santa escapees? Tonight, I have a surf and turf dinner planned, with the Christmas dinner tomorrow of Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding. So for today, I'd thought I share some of my favorite pictures from the season from here and Bucks County, that I captured for memories, and some of my favorite Christmas ditties. I warn you, I'm an old soul at heart. Thanks for your friendship and visiting through the year and wish you all a very Happy Christmas. May you be celebrating the way you want.

And as is tradition, probably my favorite song, from Bucks County neighbor and native Christina Perri and her brother, Nick Perri. The most beautiful song.

Happy Christmas Eve!

  1. It is! Your Christmas life - including (and especially) that story of being pulled over/off by a cop in the previous post - is just like something out of a festive rom-com!

Merry Christmas, Mistress Maddie, and all who sail in you!

P.S. Those narcissus for your mother are beautiful.

  3. What festive pictures. Really captures the essence of the season. And thanks for the tunes, they are some old ones, never heard some of them but the Christmas Bride and Christina Perri's song were downright beautiful listens.

    Merry Christmas to you handsome!

  4. Merry Christmas Mistress!!!!

I love the Christina Perri song cause it's different from all the other Christmas songs. It revolves around the whole December atmosphere, that happy, nostalgic feeling that you get just by walking on the street, as your pictures show beautifully!

Thats said the Silent night was a real treat.

PS Heavens, that farmers' market is expensive!
PPS Another glittering, twinkling star has joined the seasonal throng in Fabulon: Grace Mirabella, RIP. I bet her Xmas decorations were stylish...

    Merry Christmas Mistress!

Your pictures have warmed my heart. "Something About December", that song is purest form of Christmas memories, I miss my parents and many friends, and that song is correct, remember them at this time ad they warm your heart and memory, because they are never really far. Beautiful song.

  9. Some of these Christmas version songs are so overlooked, and all so pretty. As always I too just adore the picture. Bucks County is always as pretty but especially at Christmas, and those holiday hams look delicious and better be for that price. You night sounds simply nice and calm. Will you be serving your aunt's eggnog?

One of my VERY favorite holiday songs since childhood, that Kate Smith song. Now that my parents have longed passed, it means even more to me every year! Sing it, Kate! Merry Christmas my dear friend.

    1. The Kate Smith song was always a favorite of my maternal Grandmother. I think she could give Ms.Mermen a run for her money.

  12. Love this post for tonight! Im so glad I found your blog this year. It such a fun cornucopia of things, current and of yester year. Love these songs too. Christina Perr's song had me teary eyed and love the Ray Coniff Singers, they are Christmas! And the Kate Smith song, I've never heard, but she's emotionally in tune with each lyric far more than most folks today.

Meery Christmas and a wonderful Yuletide season/

  14. Ham and Cheese looks Devine. I didn't know you had connection to Buck county. My 2nd Great Grandpa was from there, he was born in 1776. But I'm sure county lines changed.
Wishing you a fine Christmas and best in 2022

  15. Merry Christmas! I have to admit, until I saw the tombstone, I had no idea you were related to Nissley. Do you get a lot of free wine?

    1. They are on my mother's paternal side yes. Cousins. But we surprisingly don't like the wine...too sweet for us.

Oops did I say that out loud? But some cousins give us too many bottles as gifts. Oh dear.
