One of my favorite weeks of the year. I have always enjoyed the week leading up to Christmas. There is something about the feeling in the air, I don't know what exactly it is. With the new job, it will be a short one, three days. The shop will be closed for 5 days. This weekend I had two small groups in for cock-a-tails and little nibbles...the lumbersexual seemed to mix well with the other neighbor and my friends. Of course, said neighbor might pass out if she knew what was going on behind closed doors!!! I also had volunteer duties at the BCASPCA for walking and exercising the dogs. No, this week is about relaxing, drinking, visiting with people and enjoying the season. To me, that is what the holiday is about. You can keep the consumerism and shopping. The Mother and I get each other little gifts, but we made monetary donations to a local food pantry, both of our local ASPCA'S and my beloved Sheldrick Trust. But my waistline may expand. My mother warned me of her cookies baking this week. Good thing the Lad will be coming for a visit. This week, all these pictures tickled me for some reason, or brought a smile. Calming.
I'm with you. I always love the week of Christmas too. Love this collection. Just so know we at work are enjoying the previous post on high volume!!! I have to tell you, my girlfriend thought I flipped sides after I thought your candy shop got me hot. She is worried, lmao.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nina?!?!?! She nailed that! I always loved that Divine clip.
I love this mood board! And this song is SO GOOD! I love that Nina West always reps for her hometown. I hope she's sponsored by the Columbus Bureau of Tourism, because she should be!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, she deserves coal for what she did to her mother! Still, the video is wonderful and so is she. Still, with all that talent, she deserves the cha cha heels... in addition to the coal. Another great collection of photos. If those Santa mugs came in a jumbo size, I’d scoop them up!
ReplyDeleteSquire John too. You know he loves his bucket of coffee.
DeleteHaha love it!
ReplyDeleteThat poor pie!
XOXO
As I get older, the holidays seem less and less important, maybe I'm heading into my 'bah, humbug' phase.
ReplyDeleteDivine would approve (and be a bit jell.) How wonderful. A new holiday classic. Love all the photos. That's FLORIDA as Santa on the TV Guide! Enjoy it all, dear. It goes by so quickly. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteYou understand and practice the true spirit and meaning of Christmas, Mistress! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteEsther Rolle on the cover of Jet? Priceless! I bet my parents remember that.
ReplyDeleteA fun mood board this week with fun music to boot.
Those vintage baubles are just lovely. They remind me of your own - in a non double entendre way, of course!
ReplyDeleteEsther Rolle - Loved her!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've got this week all wrapped up. 😘
Carlos and I do the same Christmas as you; simple, low-key, good friends, fun, relaxing.
ReplyDeleteOf course a lumbersexual would be welcome.
You're a dying breed my dear.
ReplyDeleteI love how you embrace so much of life. This mood board is gorgeous! You know me, I love the black and white images, and I used to love Ester Rolle of Good times and Maude.
I want that huge sombrero that says Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Nina!!!! She did Divine proud.
I love this mood board. Is that one picture of Clara Bow??
ReplyDeleteSanta looks really peeved as that little boy tells him of his Christmas dreams - sadly one little boy locally asked Father Christmas for a new mother in exchange for the one he has.
ReplyDeleteI've been asking for a whole new DC and politicians for years and have yet received. I should throw my own Dawn tantrums
DeleteI too, am loving the vintage bits and bobs - they remind me of my mum's old decorations.
ReplyDeleteSx
You had me for a minute. I thought my bits and bobs were hanging out.
DeleteEven though I can't get into the Christmas spirit, this shall be my favorite week this year. I work three days and I'm getting paid for five. I can love that.
