The Last Post,Happy New Year
The Mistress should clarify that this is the last post of 2008, not for good! I just finished preparing the dinner for tomorrow and now it can be popped in the oven when we get home early tomorrow morning. What is everyone up to for New Years Eve tonight? Our company has arrived and when I'm done positing I will start the dinner for tonight-Shrimp Scampi. We will all proceed downtown to Philly for lounge hopping and then hit Pure for a night of dancing. Only problem is it got cold as hell, which means the Mistress will have to get the fur chubby out of cold storage! I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! And to say thank you to all I have met since blogging. I have seen and learned much from all of you and love to hear what goes on in your lives and what your interests are. A very special wish of a peaceful New Year to Kailyn over at Kailyn Creations and Beth at Blind as a Bat. You two have had many losses this year and I wish you both more peace and a year filled with love and harmony. Meanwhile I thank my very good friend Mamie of David Dust, Miss G who writes The Fabulous Blog of Miss Ginger Grant and Mark of Tales of the Sissy for always having stories of interest, lots of laughs and pictures of hot men and keeping us abreast of hot political stories. And to Dan over at 41 North 87West for the hot skin pictures and keeping us up with his and his mans travels filled with hijinks's along the way. A thank you also to the Mahogany Empress and the mischievous Cali-Boi for your comments and giggles!I wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and may you all find more love peace and happiness to come!!! I figured I'd post now-Lord only knows what condition the Mistress will be in tomorrow!

I Admit It
It seems lately while getting caught up on my blog reading at least three bloggers commented in posts that they are have relations with men that were a little endowed. They all said they were to large. The Mistress has always been a fan of the bounty. I admit it, I'm a size queen! This song I found on the you tube sums it up I think. From the warped mind of Jackie Beat!
How ya'll Durrin'?
Well? How are ya'll durrin'? Did you enjoy the holidays? The Mistress and the Boy-Toy arrived back home at our abode Sunday night. The Christmas holiday couldn't have been any better and we enjoyed seeing our family and friends. Although I must admit the Mistress is a little wiped out from all the cookin' over the last four or five days. And tonight for dinner I just finished a homemade quiche. Like my good friend over at David Dust,Mamie, I probably ate and drank too much. I don't look big, but boy, do I feel it. The working out will have to start right after the New Year again, to keep this girlish figure! Speaking of Mamie, we had a lovely time seeing her. (Of course, we supplied her with enough cosmos it was no surprise she didn't feel the earth move and tickle her bum from the earthquake!) The Cosmos flowed all day Christmas and a couple other times through out the visit too. Now tomorrow the Mistress will be preparing the New Year's dinner and dinner for tomorrow night before friends arrive and then heading out to watch balls drop. Tradition is that we get in around five or six New Year's Morning, finish the dinner and place it in the oven to slow roast for 4-5 hours while everyone is passed out or napping from hangovers. Every year we say we won't drink that much ever again. (You know how that goes.) Friday will be spent relaxing and then we have a weekend get-away yet again to celebrate a friend's big birthday! No rest for the weary! I will start posting regularly again sometime next week when things settle! Tootles!!!

So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I have enjoyed all your blogs and hearing from you all. Please have a safe and enjoyable time with your families and friends, and watch that egg nog! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!!

Were Off Again....In a Sleigh
Well not quite in a sleigh, but in our buggy. Yes dear Mistresslites ,the Mistress and the Boy-Toy are off again to our families for the holidays. The Boy-Toy left already to go visit his family and will rejoin the Mistress sometime Friday at the Mistress's Mother's house. I'll be leaving around noon tomorrow right after work. Christmas Eve has always been so special. We all will go to the Aunt and Uncles house where we will par take of cock-a-tails and little nibbles and then have a wonderful dinner of Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding. She will also have parsnips and roast potatoes. After dinner we always have her homemade peanut brittle, mints pie and homemade egg nog that is to die for-literally. It will put hair on your chest. After everyone leaves we will go back to my Mothers house and have a night cap and then watch A Christmas Carol with George c Scott, like we have done for years. Then on Christmas day the Mother and I will put together a grand buffet of Roasted Turkey and Stuffing,Chilled Shrimp,Pasta Shells with Ricotta,Baked Asparagus,Baked Parmesan Onions,Bruschetta with Goat Cheese, and a assortment of cheeses and crackers. There will also be all 16 varieties of cookies the Mother made and her famous Sand tart cookies, nut rolls and fruitcakes. Once the family is there ,the Mistress, every year the last couple anyway make her famous Cosmopolitans. At least three to five rounds. After everyone is lit,we will eat and then open some gifts. It really is a wonderful time just being all together. The rest of the visit ,we have two more Christmas parties to tend to and visiting friends in town and from out of town, like Mame Dennis or David Dust to some of ya. I can see her face already when she gets her damn sand tarts!!! Then on Sunday before heading home, our good friend Shawn and Russell are having us in for some lite bites and a cock-a-tail. While home the Mistress will also pick up her pork roast for New Years Day. I have to go to Weavers Market. They always have the best pork I ever did taste. The Boy-Toy is all overwhelmed with excitement as he HATES pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day dinner at our place. I say if the little pipsqueak didn't drink so much New Years Eve and end up hung the next day it wouldn't smell so bad.! Hell ,the Mistress is usually drunk as a skunk and still manages to cook the dinner, put it in the oven to roast slowly and then take a 4 hour nap. But thats another story!
Grande Dame of the Week....
RuPaul!
"Once upon a time there was a little black girl who grew up in the Brewster Projects of Detroit Michigan. At 15 she was discovered by a Ebony Fair talent scout and her modeling career took off. You better work bitch!"
Born in San Diego,RuPaul quickly moved to Atlanta Georgia. In the early 90's RuPaul worked the Georgia club scene, where she performed solo and in collaboration with bands at several clubs that took her to New York City, most notably the Pyramid Club. RuPaul quickly became a huge hit in the city. RuPaul also appeared for many years at the annual Wigstock Festival. In 93, she recorded the dance/house album Supermodel of the World. Supermodel peaked at number 31 of the Billboard Hot 100 and the album also released the titles ,Back to my Roots, and House of Love. RuPaul went on to recorded 4 more albums, which are all very nice dance cds,and she also did a remake of It's Raining Men with Martha Wash. Next up was her own talk show The RuPaul Show on VH1. Ru has also many major movies under her belt, with the most recent Starrbooty which she starred with the Lady Bunny and Candis Cayne. This February RuPaul will have her own show again on Logo, titled RuPual's Drag Race, where top drag performers will compete to be selected as the number one drag performer. This promises to be a entertaining time. RuPaul is also currently touring the club scene with her Starrbooty soundtrack as well as old hits. Last June, the Mistress went to a Black ans White Charity Ball where she was the headliner. Needless to say she brought down the house and after all these years the bitch still has it!

The Famous Tart
Sunday was about baking. The Mistress was left to her own devices since the Boy-Toy went to finish up his Christmas shopping. He couldn't get all his gifts since I was around him all day at the mall Saturday, so he went to purchase gifts yesterday while I baked the Mistress 's Mother's famous Sand tarts! Sand tarts are a very thin sugar cookie that has been a tradition in our family since my mother's grandmother. When I was little, my mother and I spent the two weeks after Thanksgiving making JUST sand tarts. My mother still does. I usually make mine the week before Christmas for friends and work cronies at my abode. The recipe is very easy. It should be made the night before and kept in the refrig overnight. The recipe calls for:
Sand tarts
2 1/2 cups of sugar
2 cups of butter (1lb)
2 eggs
4 cups of flour
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and mix.Add flour working it in well.Mix thoroughly with no lumps. Chill overnight. When you go to bake the cookies pull the dough out and let soften before you start to cut the dough into balls. After the dough is softened, I cut the dough off in pieces and into medium size balls, which I love to handle. Who doesn't like to handle balls!
Place wax paper over the dough ball and roll till very thin. Pull off the top layer of wax paper and use for the bottom piece on the next roll-out. Select your cookie cutter of choice. This year I used bells, trees, and a star. Every couple of cuts with the cookie cutter I'll dip it in flour so the cutter won't pull the dough up.
Once the dough is rolled out very flat and the design has been pressed, you remove the extra dough from around the design and place back in the dough bowl for the next batch to be made. The last thing to do is sugar the cookies with a dusting of the colored sugar before sending off to the oven. If you don't care for the sugar you can take a pastry brush and dip in egg white and brush the cookie with it and then garnish with crushed nuts.
Once they are in the oven for anywhere for 6-8 minutes the little gems can come out. After 6 minutes I check on them .Everyone's oven is different,so when they look a little golden I take them out. Sometimes I 'll keep them in a little longer for a darker color. The crispy dark ones some people like too, so I will do light and dark ones. Once they come out of the oven, they will look like this.
Then it is off to the cooling table. On the wax paper. You can slide the whole sheet of wax paper off the sheet to the table. Once cooled, you can pop them off and cool them awhile longer.
The finished product. This tray was going to the Christmas luncheon for work function that we had today. When I have a party here I sometime garnish the platter with mixed nuts or sometimes frame the platter with pine boughs.
If you have the time, these cookies really are a hit. But I warn you they are time consuming to make,so I hope you have at least a day set aside. Whew! After all the baking was done, the Mistress was bushed! But in the end it was all worth it. She made herself a very nice cup of mulled spiced wine and went to bed for a long winters nap. Well at least till 5AM this morning!

Christmas in Philadelphia
In the spirit of Christmas, these are some pictures of sites around Center City Philadelphia. It is quite beautiful durning the holidays.just cold as hell though. The first picture is of the spectacular tree in front of the fabulous building that is City Hall.
Love Park at Christmas
The tree in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton hotel.
Various streets decked out for the holidays.
Beautiful Boathouse Row.
And you can't forget to stop in at Macy's that use to be the famous John Wanamaker flagship store. Macy's has continued the tradition of the beautiful Christmas tress and the spectacular Light and Organ show! It's just grand!

Through the Looking Glass
I think winter is finally here! The mistress is baking sand tarts right now and happened to look out the window to see it snowing again. In the following pictures it may be hard to see it. And the sky couldn't look more wintry gray than it does. Really cool. This is the second snow and ice storm since Friday. Looks like winter is here! The forecast for tonight is freezing rain and winds in the 40-50 mph range. I think the Mistress is prepared with loads of candles and blankets in case the power goes out. You see, from the storm on Friday it dumped about an inch of ice, covering everything in it. Yesterday when we went shopping it looked so cool to see it. Everything just looked like it was made of glass. And still does. Only thing now with more of it on the way, the power lines and tree can only hold so much. We saw whole trees uprooted on the way to King-of-Prussia yesterday. But I have to admit it is very pretty to look at. And if the power goes out,it goes. That's all right,we got our loving to keep us warm!
Don't be Showing Your What's Gone Sour
While at the mall today it occured to me there were alot of chunky girls wearing these belly shirts. And low cut jeans. With the top of their thongs sticking out. First of all I wonder why they weren't wearing any jackets as we just had a ice storm on Friday and it looked like a winter wonderland and was only 25 degrees out. Second,I wondered why they didn't buy the rest of the shirt? I guess I don't understand why they aren't dressing better, instead of clothes that look silly. I think my favorite Long Island diva can sum it more, while channeling it in a Chris Crocker moment.
A Day of Shopping
Today, the Mistress and the Boy-Toy got all ready and went to do our annual Christmas shopping. Every year we always go this weekend to do it. There's nothing like the crowds and all the people watching to be done. So we left to go to the mall. Instead of our usual dinner after shopping we hit Arby's for lunch, and it was delish! We arrived at the mall, which is the King-of-Prussia mall, which is one of the biggest in the country.
This year we went at a leisurely pace since we aren't really exchanging gifts with our families like we used to. We all felt we really get what we want when we want it anyhow, plus we like to get together to just spend time together. Although we are still getting my mother a stocking with fun little surprises in it. When we arrived the mall was packed! And King-Of-Prussia is known for all it's up-scale stores.
And to see these lines, you wouldn't know a recession was on. After a while we really got on to the list of things we needed to get. Like I said before, we didn't need to get many gifts,so we also did some shopping for us. The Boy-Toy got himself some beautiful pants, two vests and a very nice tan over coat all for a nice price on sale. The Mistress looked at allot of clothes but wasn't really feeling anything special. You see, she has a huge wardrobe, but can't wear it all the time because durning the week she has to wear all black,so I felt I didn't really need anything to wear,so she bought herself a beautiful silver flask, which she will use with pride! But the highlight of the day was all the hot guys at the mall!
While we didn't see Cristino at the mall there was ALOT of hot guys who came close. So we got all our shopping done plus some, including our cards and gift paper. We were exhausted when we got home, physically and mentally so we enjoyed the rest of the evening with candle light and a pot of the Mistress's hot mulled cider. A wonderful day! The rest of today will be about sandtart baking.
