MOTHER'S LOVE

It is a love that can be found and is expressed across all of the animal kingdom, not just among us humans.
And then there is this pair!

This apple didn't fall far from the tree! I've been off for a long weekend with  my mother for a Mother's Day surprise. She didn't even know about it. I'm sneaky like that. But I love her dearly.

My mother's favorite song. Tis rather true. I know for us, it's very true, and I'm am always grateful for she is my mother, my rock and my friend.
To all the wonderful mothers out there...
Have a lovely  Mother's Day  Weekend!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

A very Happy Mothers Day to all readers who just happen to be Mothers, and to all the mothers out there!!! I'm am at the ancestral home currently, where I arrived Friday to spend time with with my beloved Mother. I pull in and there she was......taking a tibble in the drive with Pooch!!!!!! Today I'll be cooking a dinner for her and my aunt. I have decided on Pork loin with a sauce I make of Mandrain orange, ground ginger root, honey and soy sauce! Along with a nice red wine and three accompanying side dishes. My dear Mother only had one child, and she says all the time she broke the mold on getting a perfect child. But I disagree and think I got the perfect, beautiful Mother. Which ever the case, it me and her and her and I. Not quite Big and Little Edie Beale.......but not far from the tree either!!! Happy Mothers Day!!!!

Now bring on the happy hour bell.....

MOTHER'S DAY GREETING

We all know how much our dear Mother's go through just to make their babies happy some days....most days....it's not always easy....

And after seeing this picture, my Mother is relieved she only had in her words " one perfect child" she wanted a gay son and got one....

yes dearies, it is indeed yours truly, a bouncing baby boy on his Mother's knee just a couple weeks old! This is one of my Mother's  favorite pictures. Happy Mother's Day Mom- I love you so much! And A Happy Mother's Day to the Dog's Mother, Agnes Goldberg-DeWoofs, Lucille, Auntie Flame, and Ursula who have been good blog friends, and Mother's themselves, and to all my readers out there in the dark, who are Mothers. Just know you are loved each and every day!!!! We truly appreciate all you do.

Happy Mother's Day

THE MOTHER ARRIVES......

..........YES, ehh... errr, the Mistress will have to be on good behavior.....because dear old Mother will be arriving at the Casa  Saturday Morn for Mother Day Weekend...... and we all now what a hand full she is.....

Last time she was here three houseboys went missing!!!!!!! As did some of my fine baubles, bangles and beads!!!! So the Mistress has made the houseboys dress, and told all male suitors to make tracks. All my life, I grew up with such an eccentric and outspoken mother! Admittedly, I used to be embarrassed by her quirkiness. If you watched Queer As Folk, then your familiar with Debbie Novotny. But now I must say she is way cool, and I truly adore her just the way she is and even celebrate her fun openness and smart wisecracking personality. This weekend, in true Mistress style, I have some plans for her. I'm taking her to dinner in New Hope Saturday night, and then it's off to the Razz Room to see the boys.... The Well Strung Boys.....

The Well Strung String Quartet of course.... with the cute and handsome boys, Edmund, Christopher, Daniel and Trevor.....

This will be my fifth time to see their wonderfully talented show, they are quite something to see, and oh so nice to boot!! Sunday we will be hanging around the Casa and I'll be cooking dinner for her, and the Lad will be stopping back again, followed by taking her gambling at the casino here on Monday. So you get the picture, cock-a-tails, men, and gambling. The apple didn't fall far from the tree now did it??? Only this time her luxury motor car is getting searched before she leaves, making sure she isn't pilfering houseboys again!!!!

To all the Mother's out there-
Have a Lovely and Happy Mother's Day Weekend
I have a surprise for Sunday.

Seen In and Around New Hope

Well, I tell you this. The Mistress has been all over the place lately! You may recall before heading to Rehoboth Beach for a week and a half, the Mother was in town for a couple days visit. And left the Casa, taking a houseboy, but that's still a sore subject. Anyway, I from time to time get an email requesting more New Hope photos. So on our day there,  here are some more varied things to see and do in New Hope. And I must admit, the Mother did very well in the high 90 degree temps for walking and Al fresco dinning. Here are some of the sights people.........

The quaint Gardenville Inn and Pub. And in case you wonder the parked car is a typical sight here in Bucks. Many antiques car collectors. And this is not the Mistress's buggy either.

One of the many houses one will see in Bucks County en route to New Hope.....I'll bet they have some houseboys!

A view of the canal.......

If your a big old bath junkie like myself one must stop at Soap Opera ,which is known for handcrafted soaps, bath salts, and bath bombs, and has a broad variety of luxury bath, body and linen products, including bubble baths, liquid soaps, organic lines, seasonal soaps, linens, and a kids’ section. Two standouts I love are the “Morning Mint” line by Archipelago Botanical, and the large olive-based block soap from Marseilles. And how fun are the rubber duckies?

After some shopping on one side of the street, it was time for lunch at the Logan Inn......

....where we dined on small plates of Lamb chop Lollipops, mini Crab cakes with Ginger coleslaw and Melted Brie wrapped in Philo dough........

Martine's, another of my favorite places to dine and where we enjoyed after lunch cock-a-tails

After a tasty lunch Mistress and the Mother went to the Quack Shack,  where upon depositing a dollar one gets a big ole bag of feed for the river ducks.

The view from New Hope looking to Lambertville New Jersey.

While in New Hope one MUST stop for some guilty pleasure at Gerenser’s! There are plenty of ice cream options in New Hope, but the Gerenser’s “home made” taste will always win. And look at the menu. I also always get the African Violet or the Ukrainian Rose Petal, both with flower petals. We also went back the next day. What tickles your fancy on the boards? And I also notice Puerto Rican Banana? If it's what Im thinking...I'll take three!

Here's some of the items one will find at Teardrop Memories, which houses what may be the world's largest collection of Victorian-era bird cages and mourning items, along with an array of eerie objects ranging from the merely disturbing and macabre all the way to grotesque and gruesome. And all authentic. In the third picture, in the upper right, that is the skull of a giraffe!

One thing is for sure.....this town is never dull and it's oddities ever changing. After all this, it was off to Rehoboth Beach for a week and a half and then upon returning, of course, had to hit the Raven Resort to hit the pool and get caught up with the boys there. Now back to work this week. And only a week! Tooltes!

The Arrival of the Mother!!!

Yes...it's true, the Mother and her dog Lady will be arriving today for a couple days visit and should be here just in time for Sunday Brunch! This will be her first time for a extended stay. and I will be showing her the sights of New Hope and Doylestown, and we have one night planed in Philadelphia along the river, to hit the casinos and have a cock-a-tail or two. I just hope I behave myself with the male servers there. Meanwhile, I have told the Lad and the  houseboys to be on best behavior. I worry most about Rodrigo Ferrari who is famous for his outburst in the North Wing, with his late night performances there. God I love Brazilians........

Now excuse me whilst I get under the sheets and enjoy these chills.........

Have You Met my Mother....It's Her Birthday!

Happy Birthday oh Mother!!

I just wanted to tell the world's best mother Happy Birthday today! I talked to her already and wished her a good day and then later left her a birthday message doing my best Paula Dean impression on her answering machine! She will just love that when she gets home. My mother and I always laugh. She is not only my mom, but my teacher, best friend, and confidant. Not to mention the BEST sand tart maker in the north and is only second behind me idle Paula Dean, for the use of butter! Were talking like 2lbs of butter in a double batch of snadtarts! I understand my aunt has a wonderful dinner planned for her tonight. If I know her she will be playing her own fiddle like the picture above too. So Happy Birthday Mom, and enjoy the day! Love ya!

The Birthday Mother

Today is the Mistress's Mother's birthday. Happy Birthday Ma! Shortly I'll be making the trek in the Towne car to the fair hamlet of Harrisburg for a special dinner at the Aunt and Uncle's abode for a birthday dinner with family and a few close friends. Of course, I may be making the trek like in the picture above!!! It has been raining non-stop since Friday afternoon and we are now having some flooding issues. I almost wasn't going to go, but it looks like it may let up soon this afternoon. She thinks it's only going to be her sister and brother-in-law so she will be surprised to see everyone! And she has had a hard last two weeks as a main water pipe broke in the basement of the ancestral home, flooding the fully finished rooms of the basement. I heard the pool table has a whole new meaning! So needless to say she has a huge mess and in the process of a full gutting. So I just had to make the trip. After all she has done of me and the good times we share, how could I not. We have even have thrown back a few cosomo's on occassion! Not only is she my Mom but also a good friend. Have a Wonderful Birthday Mom! And a dry one!
