CHICKS

Yesterday I went up the road to see my neighbor for fresh eggs and milk, and I dare say bottled milk! When have you seen bottled milk anymore? I took her two loaves of fresh bread I made. Outside I could hear some chirping. She informed me that this years chicks are in, and they have ended up with about over 200! I never saw so many. And if you sat down, they would climb and jump over you. You'll be happy to know I got one for each of you!
Once back,  made a white cake , with white icing....with coconut once I had three dozen eggs again. Lumbersexual is coming over for coffee and cake later. Hopefully my cakes.

    1. Well considering your brother in New York might not have gotten any of my cards, it might be a full grown chicken by time you get it, with the mail here....

    1. Will it be to much, and suggestive you think, if I serve it in only an apron?

    2. Well, I suppose you could serve the cake in an apron?
But what are you going to wear - Or not...?

    1. I'm amazed how many people don't like coconut. Cards of the table, I have to be hungry for it to enjoy it though.

  12. Looks delish ! My mother was a fab baker/cook, but sadly I didn't get that particular gene. I got the music gene. Now what will I do with a chick? And will it like Center City?

  23. OMG those Chicks are precious! I've been toying with the idea of getting a Chicken or Two, not so much for the Eggs, which would be nice, but becoz they eat Bugs and especially Scorpions, which would be handy. I'm conflicted about it yet, we'll see. I hear they don't take much Care but I don't know I want to be responsible for any more living things, you know? After Miss Priss passed it's the first time ever I haven't had a Fur Baby, so I want to give it some time. Glad you're back.

  25. One of those pink chicks would be nice, but I am afraid I can't take you up on your kind offer - the shipping costs would be horrendous and the poor little chick would expire long before its due date. Even if the poor mite arrived alive my two monsters would have it as an hors d'oeuvre.
