I do believe the Snow Queen may have relinquished , or is getting pushed out by her sister of Spring. Last week and this week it has been nothing but sun and warm temps...today even reached 67! I went up to the lake yesterday since it was so beautiful out, and may have over done it. It's 6 miles around, and I did a double walk/run around the lake, just shy of 12 miles. Needless to say my legs and ass hurt today. I was goin to take another walk today, but I have a guy here re-screening the window screens. But yes, spring is awakening....I couldn't believe how alive the lake was...and even spotted the eagles several times.
Said mink.A first!
I have never seen a mink at the lake before. I thought I had to much gin.
Back at the Casa, caught a glimpse of the little wren outside near the bedroom window. I am happy to report I spotted several Blue Birds too....finally. Too darn quick to get a picture. Someone must have something in the feeders they like.
They made me happy.
Clarice Starling on the window sill. Between them and the grackles, it was very lively.
While all the racket was going on I enjoyed a breakfast before the run. If I keep eating breakfast like this I'll need to do a 12 mile run everyday...but I don't eat lunch.
And a 50 second video of the spring communing arboretum...
I love these. Bird tweeting is always so much better and soothing than crow cawing and turkey gobbling. Guess which ones I get, unless camping. Off to the retirement manse for the weekend. So far, Balder Half isn't having any adverse side effects from his second shot. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a mink outside of stole form. I like the live ones better.
We all appreciate your assets around these parts, so take care of them!
Me either Deedles! I had to do a double take! At least I think it's a mink? Nice to know the prick Balder half got didn't phase him...he must have learned how to take a prick from you? Bwahahahaha
DeleteEnjoy the manse doll!
You're back!!
ReplyDeleteCan't keep up.....
Fantastic pics. I love clarice starling.
I've missed you. Hope all is well. Xx
Yes...just the other day. I have missed you too. It's already nice to hear the birds singing again in the morning and through the day.
DeleteLoverly day! We have trees putting
ReplyDeleteout buds. Friends in Colorado
expecting a lot of snow. And the
news says maybe tornadoes! wth?!?!
xoxo :-)
Yep, I hear from Colorado to Chicago are expecting more snow.
DeleteBut never mind, no greenhouse effect or global warming going on here.....
I bet those four little chipolatas barely touched the sides!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful photos! As much as I love the birds (particularly the heron), my favourite is the reflection in Peace Valley stream with that delicate ripple of concentric circles!
When your tighter than Fort Knox and you enter all four at once, they sure do!!!!!
DeleteThat and the heron were my two wins of the day Mr DeVice. I had to toss a small pebble in to get that ripple. You were on my mind with this walk run.
A mink! Quick - catch it! I need a new muff... Jx
ReplyDeleteIt appeared to be very thin...we might need two dear to get a muff.
Deleteno wonder you have an ass you can bounce quarters off of.
ReplyDeleteIt bounces quite a bit off it......
DeleteLove the flora and the fauna and the very healthy breakfast. We nearly hit 80 today, windows open, shorts on, sunny skies.
ReplyDeleteLoverly.
Same here...I always have at least one window cracked. but it's nice to have them all open wide and get fresh air through the house.
DeleteRubber duckies...your the ones!!! Oh man do ducks make me happy. No idea why. Hell no wonder you have nice legs and ass with walks and run like that!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's also nice to see you back posting.
Thank you cutie!!!!
DeleteClarice Starling!!!!! Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. Beautiful wildlife near you.
ReplyDeleteGood one! Nice shot too. They are very pretty when you see them up that close aren't they?
They are rather interesting up close.
DeleteMy... that's a lot of sausage for such a petite thing. You sure you have room for all those? I love breakfast food. I miss pancakes. And just stunning pictures, as per usual. Thanks for sharing. I am so happy spring is here. There is so much hope in the air. Take care, dear.
ReplyDeleteWell come on over...Ill show you how I make it disappear.
DeleteI liked the snow....but I'm looking forward to spring coming.
All lovely! I enjoyed your winter pictures...but these are more to my liking. Beautiful water fowl.
ReplyDeleteI like the little wren outside you window too. Cutie.
Got cool tonight..so the windows shut slightly...and the candles lit.
DeleteI too have heard the birdies singing in the early morning hours. I ran some errands yesterday and we had a window open in the LR. a trip to the liquor store is wanting; I'mma outta gin and several other fave spirits!
ReplyDeleteI could go another two months yet with my very, very wet bar. Lol!!!!!
DeleteHhhm, I like my eggs over easy, like my men.
ReplyDeleteI'm making a mental note of that.
DeleteI don't hear the birdies often, but when I do it means Torrie leaps onto the window sill to "chatter" with them. Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing cats chatter and click like they do.
DeleteTwelve miles? We're impressed. Franklin and I stroll for about a mile. Your photos are lovely. I'm glad the mink isn't on someone's coat.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
We have to talk Jon out of that muff.
DeleteI wouldn’t let your guard down on the weather. Mother Nature can be a bitch sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou do have a knack for photography. You should get framed prints for some of your nature photos.
I wont! We have had huge snowstorms in april already...buy I think after a few cool days we will be in the clear
DeleteThanks for your compliment. I have a series of framed sea gull pictures I took several years ago in my bathroom. As a series. Turned up nice. I'd show you if you were here, lol!
For me a true sign of spring is when Robins return. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
We've been doging rain the last couple of days here, but the sky is so gorgeous when it clears! Great photos, sweetpea! xoxo
ReplyDeleteCould things be changing and giving hope?
DeleteI don't suppose the Snow Queen can take the King of Wind and Rain with her? I am sick of him. And I want to take sunny photographs too!
ReplyDeleteSx
Ill see what i can do. I hate to see you stuck with the Mud Minster.
DeleteA heron and a mink, wow! Since Pennsylvania borders Ohio, I have to think both species can be found here, too, but I never see them. I DO see a lot of Canadian geese, whose natural habitat seems to be apartment complex parking lots. Ah, nature!
ReplyDeleteWe have Canadian grease here like crazy. I had no idea we had mink. I'd never seen one before. I'm sure you must have blue heroin...if you have nice lakes with a marshy section youll spot them. The lakes are the only spot i see them. Occasionally on the ricer too.
DeleteBeautiful photos, with the deliciously inspiring promise of spring.
ReplyDeleteA mink! I've never seen one. Everyone must be so happy you're home. I just a few minutes go stepped on the scale. Haven't done so in months and it's something I never needed to bother with. I weigh 10 more than I expected AND more than I've ever weighed in my life!
ReplyDeleteI havent been on a scale in months either...who want to see the wheel spin past 0 three times?
DeleteLovely photos; it's interesting to see the difference between your wrens and ours (Troglodytes Troglodytes - what a wonderful name for the UK's smallest bird). We used to have several wrens but they were wiped out by my evil cats. However things are looking up as I saw one wren a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteYour right Helen. We share many of the same birds, yet we call them different names. Mr Device from above shares lots of birds where he lives near Norwich in his lovely gardens
DeleteI adore Spring, honestly! 💙 Btw, those photos are stunning. 💛
ReplyDeleteSpring, Glorious Spring, great birds, I have never seen a mink in the wild.
ReplyDeleteMe either. At first i though a rat or a weasel. Had no idea. First for everything.
DeleteI love that ducky with the green in him. Very inspring picture...hopefully spring in coming. Might add some energy for job searching.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteSince 12 Miles would be too much for me, I'm happy to just come along Virtually. I'm glad you got out in Nature, it has a way of bringing us back to Center and restoring our Calm during turbulent times. The Photos are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteThose are all swell pictures, but the crocus made me really happy. Such happy little flowers.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! I can't believe their isn't one cock in there.
ReplyDeleteyou live in a paradise!
ReplyDeleteExcellent pictures! I am ready for spring. The Clarice Starling cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!!! Some much different water fowl.
ReplyDeletecrocus are a sure sign of spring.
