KISS ME ......

☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘☘ IM IRISH!

Happy St Patrick's to you all!!!!  That opening picture is just beautiful isn't it? It's a picture fellow blogger Luke sent me, and it just made me happy for some reason, and I knew I wanted to share it for today! Truth be told, I'm not really all Irish, only half Irish. I also have as my other half a split of, Dutch, Czech and a pinch of Swiss. I like to think I got the best assets from those nationalities. Since I really didn't know my grandmother on my father's side, she was passed before I was born, I do understand she would always have her corned beef and potatoes...so I will remember her by cooking that for my dinner tonight. I also didn't have one Shamrock Shake this year at all.

You know I generally over dose on those things. But I will keep two other traditions....I will watch Finian's Rainbow today, and I'm still wearing my green, because of course I am, and my Made In Ireland tee shirt which was a gift one year......so

Happy St Patrick's and Top of the Morn' to You!

And Happy Hump Day!

Whos doesn't love potato cakes?

  1. Oh, honey. Your assets are FINE. That Shamrock Shake will bring all the boys to the yard.
And Happy St. Paddy's! They dyed the river green here over the weekend. I wanted to go but ended up in a salvage yard looking for pavers for my little garden. Maybe next year.
And now I want corned beef.

    XOXO

  6. Happy St. Paddy's Day. My grandfather always said we were English through and through - he never had anything good to say about the Irish. Well, Lo! and Behold! several years ago we found out we're more Irish than English. Ha! But, then there's also Italian and Greek on that side of the fam. Those Romans ravished the whole of Europe!

  8. Dear MM, like you I have Irish and Dutch in my ancestry, although mine is a lot further back than yours. The Irish came in in 1660 when an Irish washerwoman married a Scottish blacksmith named Macfarlane. I expect that most predominately "white" people have a mix of just about every nation in Europe and a mix of other races too.

Try washing your cake down with a Guinness! My great-grandfather (on my mother's side, mostly English yeoman stock) worked for a scion of the Guinness family.

    1. Alas...I don't know much about the Guinness family other then their beer, reputation of socialites and noble living and the fabulous Daphne Guinness who is one of my fashion goddess.

On my mothers side, she is only second generation here in the states. Both her parents were born in Europe. On my fathers side, I think his ancestors arrived sometime in the late 1600's to early 1700's on his mothers side. Not sure when his fathers family arrived, but some of his ancestors who never came over, several did service for then Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. If a recall, she was a help in setting a few of his family members up here in this country. My father never completed his whole family history on his fathers side, but we have a whole family chronicles book of his mothers side.

  23. Happy St. Patty's Day. Oh, and thanks again for those sea shells you gave me a few years ago. When I move to the new place, I'm buying a couple of bowls, filling them with sand, and I'll display them with a few small, smooth rocks. I want it to look and feel like the beach.
