Looks like Canada's Drag Race is all set to take off, right on the heels of the UK's season starting. It is getting rather hard to keep up. As much as I love me some larger than life sweets, the next season of Canada 's Drag Race has, I think delivered a sweet confection of queens. Working with pastel backdrops and sugary themes, 12 new queens will compete for the crown and bragging rights in Canada, with a nice geographically diverse bunch. While I won't be viewing this season, as I dropped Crave, I was glad to see they made some nice changes, like getting rid of the last judges. While Brooklyn Hytes is stunning, I'm still not sold on her being the hostess... and while I love me some Brad Goreski, is he really a good selection for a replacement to judge drag??? He is to fashion forward and better suited for a show like Project Runway or the like. I will never understand why there are not more well known drag queens on the judging panels. But I am feeling quite a few of these beauties.

I watched the first season, but I too won't see this unless it will be on Wow Presents Plus. I agree about Brooklyn. She is so stunning, but I did not like her personality on the show. These queens have some big shoes to fill, season 1’s cast was beyond talented, campy and iconique.
ReplyDeleteI like Brooklyn....buy she could take a few tips from Envy Peru when it comes to attitude.
DeleteHaving met Gia, I just know queen is gonna feed us on the runway!!!
ReplyDeleteIcesis Couture’s outfit was definitely my favorite and her meet the queens was quite adorable when I saw it.. is it too early to have a favorite? Lol!!! Good luck to them all.
ReplyDeleteOcéane looks like such a fun time I'm really excited to see what she brings to the competition! Meanwhile the UK is another killer season isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThey all look like a blast of confection!!! But I agree I don't like Brooklyn as the host. She brought done that first season, and I too love Brad but I don't feel this is a right fit either. So the judges and host might hurt this season again, the poor queens.
ReplyDeleteI agree. You mean to tell me they can't find more suited judges for this season? When you get right down to it, the only one suited to judge really is RuPaul. But hen again why even judge drag? How does one tell one queen she isn't good enought as opposed to the next one? Art is subjective.
DeleteOmg!!!!! Eve 6000 is giving me very much a more chic James Mansfield and a little bit of Alexis P. Bevels. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing girl.
DeleteThe girls look AMAZING and all did great with the theme! That's not always the case.
ReplyDeleteCMON CANADA!! I really hope these girls bring it because season 1 had some really great girls! It was a great first season. Like you, wish it had a different host.
ReplyDeleteBrooke Lynn Hytes so thoroughly turned me off as a biased and unfair judge in season 1, I never even finished watching the series. I won't be watching season 2 either.
ReplyDeleteI agree about your observation. I have a post coming on what I think of just the judges.
DeleteGia Metrics might be my new favorite drag name.
ReplyDeleteThis teaser is so good... I like it! I never thought Id say this but Im burnt out of Drag Race. Ru is competing with her own franchise at this point. I don't get the platform to view the Canada version. But love the looks of Kimora and Gia and Synthia Kiss.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the judging and Brooklyn isn’t wack this year. The cast look great. I wouldn't be surprised either if Icesis places top 4. And Eve is giving my major Jaymes Mansfield vibes.
ReplyDeleteThe first season was excellent...but there was definetly so chaos in there and one could see the campy queens weren't getting anywhere.
DeleteGood luck to the new batch of bitches! Gia and Pythica are SERVINGGGGGG.
ReplyDeleteWe shall see. It looks to be a lively cast of queens.
ReplyDeleteThey should all lose and let Jimbo win Season 2 as one of Ru's plot twist👌
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile I have no hopes that Brooklyn will be improved. She is sucking Ru's dick a bit to much. A chip off the old block.
I don't know why but season 1 gave me more excitement and I felt that the cast would be special (and it really was). I'm not saying that this one's not, just first impressions, I don't sense a fire with them. But I'm exited to watch anyways because I support them.
ReplyDeleteI do like this cast , but I think the first season will be hard to top.
Deletelove your pink mood!
ReplyDeleteI love Pythia. She looks like a Dr. Seuss creation.
ReplyDeleteI got the best vibes in the Meet and Greets with her Icesis and Suki.
DeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteI loved the queens from season one of Canada's Drag Race. So much fun. And I like Brooklyn. I think the feedback she gave was useful. After all, it comes from someone who knows the franchise from inside. And I like Brad Goresky. Well, I like him because he hates Rachel Zoe as much as I do.
From this group, I'm loving Suki Doll and Kendell Gender and Pythia. I don't know if I'll be watching. Will probably do with the Fashion Photo Review by Raven and Raja.
XOXO
I won't be either...has my friend got rid of his crave subsrciption. I too like Brad but i don't know i want him as a judge of drag. I still think we need more in the field judges...like club personalities. I am highly surprised Suzanne Bartacsh is not a regular judge...or Amanda Lepore, or the like.
DeleteSome gorgeous looks.
ReplyDeleteGosh, haven't watched a Drag Race in many, many months. But we are looking forward to "We're Here."
I have only seen a few of those shows, I don't get HBO.
DeleteThey're all so GORGEOUS OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll That Beth seems to have a sense of humour; I like that in a person.
ReplyDeleteI think she is funny and will bring some hilarity.
DeleteWell... some of those look like super hero costumes more than drag outfits... is that the direction the art form is going?
ReplyDeleteThey always do a across the board theme Upton, for the promo looks for the upcoming season to keep the queens all on a even playing field till the season starts. Trust me, most of these bitches will bring it.
DeleteSTEPHANIE PRINCE IS THE MOMENT!
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for my Crost The Border Queens in Vancouver! All That Beth, Kendall Gender, Gia Metric, Sinthya Kiss! W00T WOOT Rollin' BC! BC! BC! BC!
