FOR THE RECORD

I have always loved Adele, from the minute she came on the scene years ago. It's been a complex few years for Adele, as the singer has gone through a painful divorce, battled anxiety, and adjusted to life as a single parent to her eight year old son Angelo. Now though, the singer and her recent stunning Vogue cover, the star is ready to chart a whole new course with the release of her first single in six years from her album 30, which recently is hitting. Of course mouths will flap, and tongues will wag over Adele's new look, while others criticized the focus on her physical appearance. I swear, the poor girl can't win. First she was looked down upon because of her plucky appearance, and now it's like she can't win because she is too thin?!? Her trainer has even come out, speaking up for her telling the press it was never about getting skinny, it was about getting healthy. Her trainer added that he worked with her post pregnancy and surgery...and with better exercise and  much better food choices is what took the weight off. But I for one,  am so tired of everyone and their mother saying how stunning and gorgeous she is now. I actually preferred the more plucky Adele myself, I have always thought she was a very stunning woman...and she is still stunning. I think as long as she is happy, that's all that matters. But I think we have to remind ourselves as a society your weight doesn't determine your beauty. Your appearance doesn't determine your beauty, and the number on the scale doesn't make you worthy or unworthy. Either way, to me,  Adele is and always has been a stunningly beautiful human who whether heavier or thinner is just as equally gorgeous. And she still has a set of pipes. It's just nice to hear that voice again.

You go girl and be happy.

  1. I saw her on late nite TV singing in a car with a host. She has a great personality and sense of humor. That's about it, for me. My husband loves her singing.

    1. Yep...I think she is very down to earth. Is she the best singer ever...no...but her voice enthralls me too.

  3. The song is growing on me... it's not her best vocal, but that doesn't mean it won't be huge. Have always loved her. I don't care what she looks like as long as she's happy. I don't understand why we live in world where everybody wants to look a certain way. How boring. But, being happy is key... and if she needs to have a trainer to do that... more power to her!

    1. I think your right. She has always been comfortable with whatever size she has been....but it is about her health...and she seems very happy...dare say glowing. But then, she always did.

  6. Love her.
Her Instagram lives are HILARIOUS. Girl is a riot and does not take herself too seriously. Love the voice, too. She looks fantastic when all glammed up and I love the throwback style she sometimes favors. I'm happy she's happy. And I'm sure she does not care what people think. She's laughing all the way to the bank.

    XOXO

  7. Yes, I agree! I too loved the plucky Adele and thought she was glorious then and now also. It drive me nuts too that people say 'OH look how beautiful Adele is now." Bitches. She was ALWAYS beautiful...in and out.

  8. A lovely post! She truly is one of the few really beautiful humans...and I don't mean the outside. She looks gorgeous either way, and like her old self, Im a plucky bitch...and just let someone tell me I not beautiful just because I'm fat. You know what? I'm happy with life and myself.

  11. That Vogue cover? Amazing!

I love her to bits. I still get chills that in the 21st century she appeared on the MTV awards show and sang with just a piano backing her. No lights, no flash, no wind machines.

    Just that voice.

    1. I agree. The real talents don't need the extra shit to distract why were there. And it ends up way more powerful.

  12. Well said, my love. I liked the way she looked early on, but choosing health is a great. I'm so tired of criticism about the way people look.

    Love,

    1. I agree....and it's one reason i don't watch many award shows. I feel the real reason of the show is taking second fiddle anymore. When the pre show of what everyone is wearing seems as long as the awards show...something is wrong.

  13. I love her music. So much of it resonates with me, in particular "Someone like you" it makes my scalp creep.

Shame on the tongue waggers. Jealous, in my opinion.

I'd be proud of her if she were my daughter.

  14. That's it...a classic beauty. Once your classic no need to keep reinventing...and the classics are a dying breed.

  15. Her music and her voice are heavenly. I have loved her from the start. She IS and always has been beautiful... and a riot. Wouldn’t you love to have dinner with her?

  16. I've never heard Adele before hearing this track. She has got a good voice and she is an attractive lady, plump or not. What I hate is the like of Vogue on insisting on models who are more akin to the starving poor in Ethiopia than a first world country. And most of the models used in fashion magazines and on the runway look hideous. Let's go back to the 50s in fashion styles (but not 50s mores).

  17. I loved hearing her swearing on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show - I bet the producers were having kittens.
People are weird - they want change, then can't handle change - poor Adele was in a no-win situation.

  18. Love me A LOT of Adele. I love that she always seem to embrace a retro vibe to her appearance no matter what size. And no matter what size she is still gorgeous and glamorous.

  19. For me, it's always been the voice. Thin or heavy, she's a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She should have a talk with Babs. Babs knows a thing or two about appearance shaming. Talent will out.
