I have always loved Adele, from the minute she came on the scene years ago. It's been a complex few years for Adele, as the singer has gone through a painful divorce, battled anxiety, and adjusted to life as a single parent to her eight year old son Angelo. Now though, the singer and her recent stunning Vogue cover, the star is ready to chart a whole new course with the release of her first single in six years from her album 30, which recently is hitting. Of course mouths will flap, and tongues will wag over Adele's new look, while others criticized the focus on her physical appearance. I swear, the poor girl can't win. First she was looked down upon because of her plucky appearance, and now it's like she can't win because she is too thin?!? Her trainer has even come out, speaking up for her telling the press it was never about getting skinny, it was about getting healthy. Her trainer added that he worked with her post pregnancy and surgery...and with better exercise and much better food choices is what took the weight off. But I for one, am so tired of everyone and their mother saying how stunning and gorgeous she is now. I actually preferred the more plucky Adele myself, I have always thought she was a very stunning woman...and she is still stunning. I think as long as she is happy, that's all that matters. But I think we have to remind ourselves as a society your weight doesn't determine your beauty. Your appearance doesn't determine your beauty, and the number on the scale doesn't make you worthy or unworthy. Either way, to me, Adele is and always has been a stunningly beautiful human who whether heavier or thinner is just as equally gorgeous. And she still has a set of pipes. It's just nice to hear that voice again.

The Grammy After- Thoughts
I know you will all sleep better knowing what the Mistress thought of some of the Grammy going ons. I was very happy for the Whitney tribute, and thought they did a wonderful job. And you know I shed a double tear for Amy Winehouse in the memory section. And then did a shot of gin gimlet.
Adele. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Talent and retro style.
Jennifer Hudson. I will catch flack I'm sure. I love Jennifer alot, but I don't think she was the right choice for this song. Her pitch was way to low for the song and she got carried away with her "enhancements" a little, if you will. She did good though, and looked hot. But during my pre-Grammy post, some readers thought Dolly Parton should have had the honor. I think they are right, after all she wrote the song, and does have a sweet voice. I would have been in tears meanwhile.
I thought LL Cool J was a smashing host and did a wonderful job.
Adam Levine and Maroon 5 looked and sounded wonderful with the Beach Boys. Swoooooooooooooon......
Ohhhhhh girls, I was lovin me some Bruno Mars and his retro style, and number! Someone remind me to have him entertain at the Casa, mama is in the mood.....
Nikki Minja. What the *@#* was that? yeah right, Little Red Riding Hood.
And I refuse to picture Rihanna. Did she show up for a rehersal of AMC'S The Living Dead? Rihanna, Sharon Needles called. She wants her look back! Tootles, and good night!
All Eyes will be on The Grammy's...

The Mistress is not one for awards shows, but was planning to watch tonight just to see Adele and see how LL Cool J would be as host. But after the latest news, I will be watching with Kleenex. Jennifer Hudson and rumors have it, possibly Chaka Khan will perform a tribute to the late Whitney Houston at tonight's Grammys.

For the first time since her hiatus after a vocal cord surgery, the beautiful and talented, Adele will be hitting the stage with her hit songs, a comeback performance for 2011's best-selling artist.
It will be an intresting show for sure. Anyone planning on watching? Monday, June 29, 2009
The British Might be Coming
Now, the Mistress isn't getting to excited just yet, but I found out that three of my favorite singers may be coming to Philadelphia. While at work today I was talking to our new assistant whose boyfriend and a friend of his run The Lever Room here in Philadelphia. I have never been there yet, but they have excellent jazz and groove music with dinner. Anywho, this fall they take part in the jazz festival every year. And this year they are in talks to hopefully secure not one, not two, but three British powerhouses for the festival. The Mistress's favorites, the sassy bad girl, Amy Winehouse who was here two years ago, the soft and sultry,Duffy and soulful and plucky Adele! Now whether all this will come to fruition will remain to be seen, but I think I would pass out if I got to see all three at once!
Amy Winehouse singing Valerie. I know she's a wreck, but damn it I love her voice!
Duffy singing Mercy.
And Adele singing Chasing Pavements.
