ANOTHER LEGEND

Its with sad news, yet again, of another drag Legend passing away. Late yesterday I got word that the highly entertaining, raunchy and Fabulous Heklina, who has been entertaining San Francisco since the early 90's passed away suddenly and unexpected, while in the UK with Peaches Christ. Trips to San Francisco will seem a little bit darker now without seeing one of her shows. If you hadn't seen one of her shows you certainly missed a San Francisco treat. But fabulon just got a lot brighter.

And this from Trannyshack...cicra 2003.

If that's not enough to scare the shit out of you I don't know what is. She will be missed...and this form of camp drag...is slowly becoming extinct.

Rest well Heklina ...and thank-you for all the laughs and hilarity.

  3. Sad news Mistress. I never had the pleasure to see her show, but met her once in Ptown when she saw my show here. She was a complete riot and nonstop. It's Peaches who has my thoughts. Too lose your life long drag friend and sister and show co-star. Their show nights are legendary.

  5. Oh no!
So sad! She was a riot! I've watched her shenanigans on youtube and she was absolutely hysterical. Very old school Drag: witty, irreverent, funny.
    She'll be missed.

    XOXO

  8. I actually read about it in our media - she died here in London! She and Peaches were about to launch their show Mommie Queerest at the Soho Theatre next week. Peaches found her body...

Shocking. 54 is no age. Jx

    1. Their Mommie Queerest show I saw years ago....it is hilarious!!!!!!! My drag friend Ella Vallday who lives in London is the one who texted me. Poor Peaches...to find her. They have been longtime friends and drag sisters.

    2. "Ella Vaday" is one of my fave pun drag names, alongside "Dixie Normous", "Ida Slapter", "Sum Ting Wong". "Tanya Hyde", "Crystal De Canter" and "Ophelia Balls"... Jx

    3. LOL!!!!! Back in the day I had a drag friend of mine that went by the name Crystal De Canter. She is long passed on.

    4. Our own Crystal D'Canter is a stalwart of the drag scene in London, and as one half of the famous "CK Sundays" (with her her long-standing drag sister Kelly Mild) one of our most-enjoyed cabarets in the whole West End! Jx

    5. I loved that article...and adore these camp classic queens. They are a dying breed. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect all drag queens, but it's these 'old school' queens we won't soon see. And there the ones tough as nails and have the staying power and really encapsulate drag for me. She is glorious!!!!!!
