FOUR QUEENS

Rupauls Drag Race Finale is tonight? With four queens remaining.Another season of calling the top 6 queens....I wasn't sure if it would be Salina EsTitties or Lucy LaDuca making the top 5. Another good season. And the only queen to grate my nerves was Marcia....who probably made it further than she should have.

Mistress Isabelle Brooks....is my choice to win the crown. High time a big girl take the crown...only after 15 seasons. I don't think my girl is going to get it though.

Sasha Colby is hot. She did excellent. But. She is already so well known...highly established on the drag circuit...and career....I don't think she take the crown....but I think she be competing against....

Antera....who my money is on....and will take the crown as the 15th Crowned Queen!!! Let's face it...her only competition was Sasha Colby. And she brought the looks, styles, runways, skimpy looks and glam...and could perform and dance and leave a runway in pieces when she done. I think she may be the winner.

Lux London Noir....Not sure why she made the top 4. She is a excellent queen....buy i differ from the judges as to her style. I felt her looks were all the same. Sleeveless...slit legs....arm revealed...most all showed skin....mid drifts...or ensembles with material hanging from them. Never except once was their any big gowns or huge wigs. And after seeing her PR Grande Finale look....she fell real short of the others. I just didn't connect with her and found her beyond annoying.

Who your money on squirrelfriends?

  1. Mistress Isabelle Buttercup's good humour shines through when you hold her up to your chin, just like a buttercup shines when you hold that up.

  2. I really need to watch this show!! Good luck to all the contenders

  3. I completely agree with your assessment. And Lux should not be in the top four. Ever notice in her lip synchs? She never knows the words. She barely even moved her lips in the lip synched against Loosey. For that alone she should have left, not Loosey.

    1. YUP.

and when Ru announced Luxx in the 2nd spot in the finale, it cemented that it was going to be a double shante. . . because Luxx in a lipsynch against Sasha, Anetra, or Mistress would have been a bloody mess on the runway.

shameful manipluation - not that it matters, neither Luxx nor Loosey was/is gonna win.

I suspect we'll get an Anetra win (well deserved) and perhaps a consolation prize for Sasha (taking over lead judge on a new iteration of Drag Race)?

but let's see. . at least I adore 3 of the 4 in the top this year.

  4. It's Sasha's crown to lose, but I admit I'm rooting for Anetra--she's wowed me from the beginning with that amazing performance featuring not only her now signature duck walk but Tae Kwon Do.

  5. I've been Team Anetra from Day 1, but I don't think she'll win because it seems to me the judges have been pushing and leaning towards Mistress Isabelle Brooks all along, because THEY want a big girl to win.

    1. Mistress Isabelle Brooks was my choice from the beginning, and a great choice for a big girl. It's unfortunate though...how do these big girls win when the judges and fans only want the body ody ody...and a dance and acrobatic routine??? The girls rely too much on disrobing, in my opinion, in an over the top jaw dropping ensemble...like Sasha tonight... all too soon, to just show body. Now were confusing drag queen with showgirls. They also rely to much on summer saults and flips and death drops to the point where it is not original anymore. Notice how Antera was smart to not do the duck walk in her first set. It gets tired. Big girls will never be able to compete with that or win. Latrice, Ginger and Eureka, and I dare say Victoria Scone from the Uk, were all queens I would have picked as winners and highly entertaining and can have solos shows they prove. People want more than just a look queen for photo opts and lip synch. I don't know many queens who can carry a solo show...but these big girls can and do.

  6. Yes, Sasha is everything everyone says, but I was turned off by her perfection.

All I can about Lux is FEH.

Mistress Izzy would be just fine with me, but I hope Anetra gets it.

I don't pay much attention to drag other than this show, but drag seems to have changed a lot since the early seasons. Maybe it's just natural change or maybe because I'm 97? Who knows? It all feels too perfect. I long for the old days when there were smart savvy queens. I won't list them, you know who they are.

    1. From one Norma to another ...your correct. The queens these days are to perfect and worried about being pretty and contoured... over camp style, being silly, throwing something on, and real talent and comedy to seduce your audience...if you can't hold them, you may as well hang the frock and wig up.

  7. I too was team Mistress Isabelle Brooks or Antera from the beginning. Nothing against Sasha...I adore her heavens knows.....but from the beginning from day 1....I think it was set from then on Sasha was the winner. You didn't hear from me, but many of the girls said they felt like walking when they saw she made it. It some ways, it was unfair playing field from the beginning with her years of top notch perfection and professionalism, which is exactly why I don't think high profile queens should be constantans but let lesser-known queens who don't have the background and means to be on the show...like in the early days.

I mean, you could tell from the finale performances who had the backing and major budget.!!! But kudos to the queens for having the balls and guts to even perform against her.

BUT.....Lets be honest....JINKX STOLE THE WHOLE FUCKING SHOW!!!!!! NOW THAT IS A TOP NOTCH camp queen with TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When she was done...I thought that is a wrap!

  8. I agree!!!!!!! JINKX STOLE THE Show, from a lousy finale!!!!! Now THAT was entertainment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And love how Ru thinks she is breaking down a dance routine, lol.... Just no. As you know, Ru annoys me. To judge queens on style, make up and performance...and she can't even do her own wigs and make up or dance. Ok. Which is why, the judges panel should be her and all drag queens, with Ru as just a mentor like Tim Gunn.

  9. And didn't Ru look like shit tonight? That dress was hideous, the wig looked like they threw it on her as she walked onstage. I've hated most of Ru's dresses this season. I just don't get it.
I'll go have a tantrum now.

    1. I agree Norma not her best...and I chuckle all the time when Ru tries to do a number. Even my mother who is 81 finds it painful. Last I knew Delta Work was doing Ru's wigs, after the talented wigmaker and stylist Mathu Anderson was let go by Ru. Ru never looked better then when under his vision. That guy was a marvel. Raven now still does her makeup, not sure about wig design. Delta too since left.

      Now commence with your tantrum.....

    2. I was wondering the same as normadesmond ... who dressed Ru. It was awful and distracting because, every time she stood next to a Queen, my focus was on the dress. Trying to figure out why and how that terrible ribbon fabric was draped around it.

  10. I agree with everything I'm reading. Scarlet makes a point, which I sensed but couldn't put my finger on.....Sasha was sooooo up here above the others, how could they even have a chance? That was like letting every day people singing in a singing competition against someone like say Maria Callas or the like. It 's also why I enjoy the international franchises more.

But my queen, Jinkx Monsoon was well worth watching the whole finale and probably saved it...and saved yet another lack luster finale.

  11. I was happy with the top three...and was sure Antera had it.

Could just be me, but I always enjoy the show, but then the finale is always a letdown. I'm like, That's it? Thanks goodness for Jinkx...you all are right!

    1. Agreed. This season was more entertaining than I thought it might be, but the finale was weaker then the last two, with exception to Jinkx...and the over-the-top ensemble of Willow Pill to pass the crown.

  12. I'm shocked but not shocked. Ru may as well hang the show up. She already crowned the Queen of Queens....Jinkx!!! THAT was a PERFORMANCE and how it's done. I had chills watching and listening. That is a performer.

    1. True. If you crowned a Queen of Queens....why continue? And one would be hard pressed to top Jinkx.

  13. I haven’t watched it in a while though the English version is rather common lol

    1. Your correct. The UK among other city franchise march to their own style and camp. It worries me drag is becoming to produced and "follow a handbook" here some days. Some days even I have to pause and really look at a queen to decipher who they are...to many look like twins.

  15. YASSSSSS JINKX!!!!!!!!!!

It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that Sasha would win. Soon as I heard she made the cast. I knew she would take it. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. She was way too big for the show...no one stood a chance. But I do adore her. Hell, she could fore went a regular season and walked right into an All Stars and mopped the floor with them.

  16. #2 she's the most classic here!

  17. Congrats! Sasha!!!!!!!!!! And Jinkx? What could be done but to bow down. She smoked the stage honey.
