AUTUMNAL CONFETTI

Just Friday after Lawn Daddy and son were here, the yard and gardens were clear of any leaves...and it seems like, no, it WAS, overnight, the great oak in the back yard littered the Casa and its gardens with leaves. Sadly, most of our annuals and such and salvia are covered with leaves. But the pups seem to enjoy them. Well except Lillith. She like to sit at the front door like Queen of Sheba. Some snaps taken early evening. Next question, where to starting with the blowing.
Did I mention it was almost 78 degrees today?
And bees are still sighted pollinating in the roses and salvia? No bonfire tonight, but we did indulge in mulled cider under the festival lights.

  1. The leaves at this time of year are a bastard! I bought a leaf blower/vacuum to deal with them, but it's been pissing down with rain for ages so it's of no use now (they don't deal very well with sodden leaves).

Buster seems to be enjoying it, so that's what matters! Jx

    1. Thank heavens for the leaf blower. Saves tons of time. Luckily, they are not sodden yet.

  2. All our fall leaves are now buried under a thick blanket of snow.

  3. My second favorite season of the year! Beautiful pictures. I think autumn has the most color right after spring. And we always love seeing Buster and Lillith. Your lawn man must love all those leaves, but it does seem rather like they fell out of nowhere doesn't it?

  4. As Jon said - too wet in the UK to enjoy the crunch of fallen leaves. You have so many though!!

  6. So beautiful. As for where to start with the blowing, some would say go for the biggest one first.

  8. We were lucky on Bonfire Night on Saturday; I think the recession has already hit pockets in the village as there were virtually no fireworks to upset Wolfie. However the Posh Boys' School are having their fireworks this coming Friday. Wolfie will definitely need incarcerating as the PBS spend a LOT of money on their fireworks.

  10. I love buster. He's a very handsome chap.
I am going to buy some of the lights like in your last pic. They remind me of warm, summer evenings eating under the stars in france.

    1. I had to do this festival lights to the backyard this summer. They're great because they're not as bright as a house light and they don't attract bugs, and the light is very ambient.

  11. Hi Buster and Lillith!

It's nowhere near Christmas, and yet I've been lighting up my fake indoor tree every night since it arrived. I love how peaceful a dimly lit living room looks at night.

    1. It is a bit early for me, but I agree nothing like a dark room was just a Christmas tree lit.
