MOOD BOARD

Another busy weekend. It also felt more like winter again instead of spring. Another weekend with friends in Philadelphia, before heading back up the turnpike again. Today, a day to myself to relax and luxuriate. Read that as veg out and relax before going back to work tomorrow. Did I watch the Oscars? Nope, never do. But I did see some of the arrivals and thought that Uma Thurman and Marlee Matlin looked to be my favorite for best dressed. Otherwise looked to be the year of the titty!!!!! The girls were out all over the place! Keith Urban and Shawn Mendes looked sexy as hell in their tux, as did Simu Liu in his red suit. Elliot Page looked adorable. I also think Chris Rock came across tasteless as always after the crack he made of Jada Pickett Smith, and I also saw a clip of the Gaga and Minnelli presentation... did we really need to put Liza Minnelli through that????? Loved the 60 Years of Bond, when I flipped in, but how could you not include the music of Dame Shirley Bassey who has done more Bond themes than any other artist? While I didn't see the movie, I was very tickled to hear that Jessica Chastain won, I just adore her. Otherwise, I think I saw about 20 minutes of the show here and there. Now on to my coffee.....

  1. Didn’t see the show. Will catch the highlights. (I already saw the slap in the news.)

    1. I had my BBC shows to watch but checked in here and there. I didn't agree with the slap, but that was a low blow Chris made. Chris grates my nerves anyhow. And besides I think Jada could have done more damage then Will. She probably could have snapped his chicken like neck with one crack.

    2. Chris Rock was never funny. He deserved it, and more. Jx

    3. I'm sure as I type this Jada has a hit on Chris Rock's dick to be cut off.

  2. Yeah, I wondered about the Liza Minelli cameo too. But Lady Gaga was very loving and solicitous with her, which was good to see. And Liza announced the Best Picture winner like the star she is!

    1. Gaga did a good job, but it was very uncomfortable to watch.

  3. When you come over, bring your camera and photograph my home town as beautifully as you do yours.

    1. They are not my pictures; my Monday pictures are often one I find on the net that reflect my current mood.

  4. I agree. Lots of double backed tape used to keep the nipples from showing. It was an ok show. I must admit I had missed it during covid.

  5. I love the mood board. Yes, it did get cold, so I'm enjoying copious cups of hot coffee today. I too didn't watch much of the Oscars, but I agree I think Marlee Matlin was one of the best and classy looking of then night.

I also couldn't bare seeing Liza on parade.

  6. My grandfather had a vintage Citroen. He sold it before he passed. That is one of my favorite cars...such style and vintage chicness.

As for Oscars highlights had over to my blog friend's Bob's blog.

  7. It's fresh it's hot and it's good, sums up your blog on Mondays for me anyhow. Certainly, was breezy this weekend in town.

I watched half the Oscars. My top three women were Nicole Kidman, Marlee Matlin and Mila Kunis.

  8. I could use a stiff one today.

  9. I didn't watch (and never have) any of it. Back-slapping faux-worthiness at its worst. Obviously the "Best Film" had to go to something schlocky and disability-oriented [NB the disability movement hated it, so I'm no speaking out of turn] basically because there wasn't any "star vehicle" for anyone "playing gay" this year.

I had to Google the Liza bit. So very sad. Yet another PR coup for that talent-syphon Gaga to laud about, more's the pity. Jx

    1. I don't get it either Jon. Especially that Liza bit. I hadn't been so uncomfortable with watching something like that since Liz Taylor's appearance, which shortly afterwards was when I stopped watching the show.

  10. I love your mood boards, honey. I am there in that tub with you... just don't look at my feet. Don't care about the Oscars at all... I kept trying to determine if it was Mother's day yesterday - and Will Smith is a azzhat. Sorry Jada has an issue with hair loss, but... hey... Smith was out of line and is even more of a dickhead thank I thought. And Liza/Lady? What happened? Love 'em both, as you know. Kizzes

    1. I tend to agree with your comment at Bob's. The glamor and the real class of Hollywood is gone. Why the Oscars keep going is beyond me. Movies are meant to be for entertainment purposes, not to be picked apart and analyzed. As Joan Crawford once said, "Why must EVERYHTING be a competition?"

Who is to say one movie or actor's performance is better than anothers.

  11. Love your mood board today, sugarpie! The cars, the doors, the coffee, the men! *sigh* Perfect for an overcast, rainy day here in Southern California! It was sad seeing Liza in a wheelchair, but I though Gaga was perfect. When she said, "I got you" and Liza replied, "I know" I felt it. xox

    1. It was a touching moment, but I will never understand why they drag out these older Hollywood royalties like that. I could barely watch.

  12. Ohhh I love, love LOVE! These cars! I want to have that WV wagon so hard...
And I agree with you about the Oscars. I thought Zendaya killed it. But she usually does, so no surprise there. I loved Nicole Kidman too. I think her husband is HAWT.
I was appalled when Liza showed up. HOW DARE THEY?
And Chris found out he went too far. Will could have waited though, but Jada whispered in his ear and it was all over. She better suck that dick from behind, gurl.

    XOXO

  14. Your mood bored was more exciting then the show. I just do not get award shows?

Most winners seem to never go on to do much again...exemption of Meryl Streep.

  15. Damn that coffee mug!!!!

We didn't watch the Oscars either. But we did see Koda, it was an excellent movie.

  16. Oh... how I want to be in that bathtub right now.

I used to love the Oscars in the late 80's early 90's...but then I don't know what happened to Hollywood. Them, the fashion and the show just became filled with lackluster and a lot of hot air, with a very few memorable moments.

  17. I seriously questioned if Rock, the Smith's, and the Academy staged the whole thing. The ratings of the show drop more and more every year. You'd think after the pandemic they would have blown the roof off after a two-year absence of sorts. But it hit a low.

  18. Great mood board!! Coffee is my routine every morning. I think that is the best I have ever seen Marlee Matlin....she was radiating.

But I too haven't watched it in years and never saw a whole show of them ever. The Oscars is desperate for views …they’ll do anything, all an act to stay relevant as it is dying a slow death each year further.

  19. It was cold as a witch's tit here all weekend and windy again this morning, so your subdued mood board matched my outlook this morning! Hollywood hasn't made quality films for the last 25 years, and I haven't watched the Oscars since Julia Roberts won Best Actress for Erin Brockovich. That cow couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag! Awards shows are neither entertaining nor relevant anymore, IMHO.

  20. I didn't go out anywhere this weekend, it was so damn cold, I stayed in and lounged girl.

This is spring, isn't it? Oscars? Watched the arrivals and that as far as it went.

  23. I saw everyone clutching their pearls over the slap, and yet I kept thinking about one saying... Talk shit, get hit.

    Rock deserved that one.

  24. No, no, no, no, no! Chris Rock told a tasteless joke. Slapping him was not justified. Nope. Violence was not appropriate. Will Smith damaged his reputation and career with that stunt. He has since issued an apology but what he did will forever overshadow his win.
Loved seeing Shangela hosting on E!

I'd be sure to send mine in.

Nice to see the Morris traveller too. I haven't seen one for decades.

  26. Your mood board looks very British - apart from the men - they don't make them like that over here!

  27. I was going to apologise that a couple of my coffee servers managed to insinuate themselves into your array of photos, but I see that Ms Scarlet's let the cat out of the bag in the time it's taken me to get here. No one will ever believe those two are Brits now!

Still, thanks for getting my bath ready.
