Gracie Sinclaire
Ann Sheridan
Angela Greene
Lucille Ball
A view of the bag pipers from the St Patrick's Parade I ran into on Sunday...what's under those kilts????
A Happy St Patrick's to you all!!!!
Those old pictures are nifty. Today's stars wouldn't tolerate them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the video, although purists would say those jigging brothers move their arms too much. Traditionally, in Irish jigging, the arms hang straight down by their sides and do not move.
ReplyDeleteHappy St. P, dear. Love the vintage Hollywood stills. Inspired. Wish I'd thought of it! As for the tapping twins... oh, dear, no... brings to mind Lord of the Flatulence - and that insufferable Michael Flatley. He certainly drove that thing into the ground. Well, raise a glass, my dear. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Love the old Hollywood pics. Ava Gardner was STUNNING. Whoa.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can attest to the fact that Irishmen do NOT move their arms when dancing. Or their hips. Nope.
XOXO
Except when they’re dancing in the sheets 😜
DeleteLove everything!
ReplyDeleteHappy st Patrick's day!
ReplyDeleteIt is alleged that the rumour that Scots warriors failed to wear underwear is just that, a rumour. Even angry Scots don't want to freeze their balls off. Whether the ancient Irish were less prissy is not known.
ReplyDeleteCroí folláin agus gob fliuch! Jx
ReplyDeletePS That's a variation on "Cheers" in Irish Gaelic, and literally translates as "a healthy heart and a wet mouth!" I thought it appropriate in your case, dear Maddie.
You know me so well dear! 🍺🍀🍺🍀🍺
DeleteGet a couple of straitjackets for those flailing arms!
ReplyDeleteNow your sending my mind racing...
DeleteI didn't notice any flying arms...just very tight black jeans with full baskets.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if your par taking of you corned beef dinner this year?
A few years ago, I saw a picture of the St. Patrick's Day March in New York City and one of the kilted musicians had just walked over a street grate. Unaware that kilt had blown up at the back a la Marilyn, the marcher showed off his tightie-whities to the world! He had a nice ass though.... Happy St. Paddy's Day, Maddie!
ReplyDeleteNow that would be my luck!!!!
DeleteAh I remember those days well 😉And those feet sure to move!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patty Day. For a second there, I thought that first image was you in reface.
ReplyDeleteJust you wait.......
DeleteGracie Sinclaire's look is everything!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day! Men in kilts look so sexy!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day! I like the old photos and the men in kilts! 🍀
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day, sweetpea! (yeah, I know, it's almost happy Friday for you)xoxo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Gardiner Brothers and love the spin they've put on traditional Irish dancing!
I just recently discovered them Savvy and they are hypnotizing.
DeleteI'm a little late, but Happy St. Patrick's Day. Enjoyed the Hollywood publicity shots.
ReplyDeleteI thought you might Kirk.
DeleteCute pin ups! I love B&W images! Toby Wing would so be me.
ReplyDeleteI could literally watch these guys dance all day! They're beyond crazy-good and VERY accomplished! This video really lifted my spirits! Or was it the tight jeans?
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patty's!
These are so charmingly delightful! I often wonder when I see vintage Hollywood and pinup holiday photos like these, whatever happened to the many, many festive props that were used in them? Is there some secret, amazing warehouse somewhere in LA filled to the rafter with them and if so, can I please have the keys to it? Corn beef and cabbage on tap here for me tonight.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, so classy, so talented! I just discovered this video and watched it 10 times in a row... and I still want to watch it again !! Those feet sure move.
ReplyDeletewait...We don't get the green underwear and Shamrock Shake shot this year?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the world coming too?!?!?!
It's tiring to be an open book and opened legged all the time.
DeleteFabulous. Those were chic and fun. Have a tremendous St Patrick's Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThat jig is joy. I always want to look under the kilts to find the purists... or something else.
ReplyDeleteIm amazed they can even jig in those tight pants.
DeleteIt's surprisingly easy to dance in tight pants - so long as there are no extended leg lifts to worry about. In the South, here in the US, the Irish Jig is called "clogging." The More You Know...😊
DeleteOh, I bet you can guess what is under those kilts. I think you have seen something like that before.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great St Paddy's day. Love the vintage Hollywood publicity stills!
ReplyDeleteRaising my glass to you on st paddy’s day!!!! …and if it’s not been mentioned elsewhere, it’s coincided with Purim this year…a day of celebration and dressing up…so I’ll raise the glass to you again!!!
ReplyDeleteI noted it..! Jx
DeleteCheers bitches!
