I see the suffering of the LGBTQ community in Russia and quite a few other countries and think about how far the U.S. has come. It's not far enough, but we're getting there. If trump or another Republican of his ilk is elected to the presidency again, all of our freedoms will be in danger--except for the freedom to hate. This is a lovely post, dear heart. No one should have to feel it's better to be dead than to be gay.
No words needed for this. The memes stank in and got to me. I agree with Janie, we have come a long way and must keep tugging along to keep the evil out of position. We are lucky here, but it breaks my heart to know many countries they do kill themselves in fear.
I am angered by those in control of my country that they send back LGBTQ asylum seekers back to countries like Nigeria and Uganda where they can and are murdered for their sexual orientation. I am embarrassed to be British.
I remember when I was a young Mistress, standing in the crowd on Pride Day, thinking, "Why can't every day be Pride Day?" Now that I'm a much older Mistress, I hope we get there before I expire.
A very striking assemblage of photos and messages, Mistress Maddie. Every day can be Pride Day once a person realizes there's support and acceptance to be had almost everywhere these days. The important thing is not to sit back and become complacent about hard-won rights!

Pride is important because it shows community. And it should be celebrated 12 months out of the year. And twice on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection, should be on the front page of every southern newspaper, should be scrolling on every Fox news channel.
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice.
