What a month to dance...for PRIDE!!!! π³ππ³ππ³π
Last week while at the Woods Campground, I was invited by one of the dj's, Ribos, to select songs for a two hour set. I got to be there with him, look pretty, push some buttons, drink and carry on.... and watch the boys dance to what I selected. It was great fun to watch, making the boys move and sweat, to the music I choose. I think I can see why DJ's love doing this. Here is half the list. I've swung open the doors of the Casa du Borghese tonight.... Get them dancing shoes on....and let's DANCE....and also raise a glass to our premiere Gay Ally in fabulon.... Anne Marie!!!
It's going to take me a whole afternoon to get through this lot. Shame I'm back to work tomorrow... Jx
ReplyDeleteTell them you'll need a two hour gay pride gin break.
DeleteJust thought I'd peek in. Nope. I'm too old for the room. Time for my before bed nap.
ReplyDeleteEevn for the Bee Gees' ABBA and Gloria Gaynor?!?!?
DeleteAt the risk of being banned, I don't really care for ABBA or Gloria Gaynor and I prefer pre disco Bee Gees. Please put away the tar and feathers. Blow out those torches! I'm backing away from the pitchforks.
DeleteWhat about Stephanie Mills?????
DeleteAnd don't worry, you know Maddie aint using tar...she'd get dirty, and the feathers she'd never waste, LMAO!!!!!! Maybe you can ogled the houseboys...they need handled.
Oh, I forgot about Stephanie Mills! Best. Dorothy. Ever! I used to own the Original Broadway Cast of The Wiz album. Her rendition of Home always made me cry. Didn't care for this particular song, though. I guess I was never a Disco anything.
DeleteI'm way older then you I bet Duchess Deedles, and that Maddie even had me up in my slip trying to dance. I'm sure it wasn't pretty. I'm surprised I didn't put my hip out. William is looking down thinking I'm a loon probably. William and I we're always disco babies.
DeleteMs Agnes, not way older by any means! Chronologically, I'm 65. Mentally I'm fluid. Health wise, I'm pushing 110.
DeleteIf it's any consolation, my wrist hurts.
DeleteI loved the early Bee Gees! I think my first Bee Gees album, around 1967, was actually called Bee Gees 1st. SO different from their disco lives, although I did get into that, too.
DeleteWords and To Love Somebody were two of my favorite tween songs back then, Scoot. I still love them. Those sibling harmonies were just gorgeous!
DeleteAlas I only know the the disco Bee Gees. Should I play more ABBA NOW?
DeleteDeedles:
DeleteYou hit my two faves, as well.
Maddie:
Check out the pre-disco music by the Bee Gees. I think you’ll be surprised.
Too dancy for me, you know my blood runs rock and roll.
ReplyDeleteTo AM! Cheers!

DeleteEXCELLENT LIST. I have always loved Heather Small's Proud. I have loved her since the M People.
ReplyDeleteI noticed your song list has a excellent common theme...live and have fun! Every song title say something about or to Pride. Were all beautiful. Im in such a good mood now
Happy Pride to everybody.
That song Proud always get to me with happy tears.
DeleteProud is an excellent song for Pride. And yes, I tried to select titles with with the same theme.
DeleteYou got me dancing baby!!!! Who needs a club in pandemic with the likes of this?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard the Pure Sugar song in ages! I used to love that songs...and I enjoyed a lot of the videos.
And yes, Im sweating!
I used to be obsessed with that song Jacoby. I have always enjoyed the video for it too. Holds up well.
Deleteand who cleaning up after this mess??? And where are the mirrors for the white stuff?
ReplyDeleteAs the senior state lady of this group...I know I am the only one carbon dated I'm sure, I have to tell you Mistress, you GIVE ME LIFE!!!! You had this old lady dancing in a slip!!! Would you believe William and I were still going to clubs as late as 2005!!! We loved to danced. We always hit the gay clubs. So I heard some of these, but some are new and I tell you Mistress, you help keep me young! This did remind me of Anne Marie to a certain level.
ReplyDeleteYou have any idea just how hip you are?
DeleteNot only will I need to put on my dance shoes but also Dr. Scholl's gel soles, because my aging feet is going to be aching after all that.
ReplyDeleteNightcrawlers. CFM Band. Todd Terry with Martha Wash and Joslyn Brown. Uncanny Alliance. ABBA.
ReplyDeleteWith drinks thrown in, I know who can fill in for me at the Monster when I'm out of town.
Hell, with this list, the Mistress would bring down the Boatslip!!
DeleteAnd still hit the Dick Dock after....
I could never fill your big cow hooves!
DeleteBy the way, that might be your best header yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kirk! I try to give good header.
DeleteI'm a fan of lady Gaga.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Anne Marie would love this and would even maybe forgive you for slipping one ABBA song in there.
ReplyDeleteWith enough gin even in fabulon she overlook one ABBA song.
DeleteOh, you did Anne Marie proud, boy! Betty Boo, Stephanie Mills, Lady Miss Kier, Gloria Gaynor twice... Never Can Say Good-bye is one of my all-time faves... The Gaga with BLACKPINK, KYLIE singing The Real Groove... I am in heaven. Man. I would have danced my ass off... how fun was that night. Thanks, boo. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteI might even adore you more know that you know who Betty Boo is!!!!! Many I know never heard of her. I hearted her hard.
DeleteCoincidentally, this article appeared in The Guardian today... Jx
DeleteHow about that timing! Slang for cunnilingus?!?!?!?
DeleteThanks for that link Jon...that was a nice read. I always loved her.
Most of these were before my time, but I said it once...the 90's had the best of club music. DAMN!!! What I think the most of your line up, it's old school house, house disco and some new selections and it all works. Damn boy your good.
ReplyDeleteAnd that new header is beyond sexy.
Now I want to go dancing!!!!!!!!! What a list...and some good memories. I remember the song from Ian Van Dahl-Will I...dancing on E!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you might be the only person to ever post or mention Betty Boo. I mention her and people are like who?
OMG!!!!!!! I can testify to your set!!! The music last week was banging...but let's be honest.
ReplyDeleteYou blew the roof off that bitch last week.
I will second that!!!!! This beats the stuff we have.
DeleteI don't dance, and you got me wanting to go dance. You had me with the first song, Sour Candy. And as a fan of the great Crystal Waters, I loved the song Just a Freak. Never got much air. One of her campiest song you ask me.
ReplyDeleteOh man, those days. When club music was up and coming. I miss those days. The world seemed much less complicated but that was probably because I was a dumb ass teenager drunk or high.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was there for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those were best moments. You brought back some damn good memories. I bet you had the boys sweatin'
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel about coming to North Carolina?????
With enough gin anything is possible!!!
DeleteGot me but good tonight!!!!!!!! India!!!!!! At 4'8" or some small measurement, that woman could belt out that song!!!!!!!!! That was huge!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome of these songs have to be one of the best house tracks ever made and house is a feeling that you can't describe... you feel. Music like this helps in 2021 and some!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this! I can imagine you had those boys jumping cutie.
For those people that got to experience this time of house music, let's consider ourselves the fortunate ones. The club scene, with the music as the soundtrack to our lives, and discovering who we were (LGBT). This music and that moment in life I would never ever change, or take back...in shaped us.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right Countess!!!! I LOVED out time frame in the clubs with music. It was and is an experience for me.
DeleteI’m raising my coffee mug to Anne Marie! Even the cats are dancing.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from the Woods posts and was there last weekend. It was excellent...we were all dancing on our site. It's great you can stream it from the clubhouse.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Nick!!!! Come say hi again! Isn't the woods just a blast?
DeleteFlashbacks to Saturday nights at the Firestone, in my hayday, the original Firestone store on Orange Avenue in Orlando was converted into a massive club, oh my!
ReplyDeleteTo Anne Marie!
ReplyDeleteClink, clink, sweetie! Jx
DeleteCheers!!!!!!
DeleteI'm just going to assume you included Bowie's "Let's Dance" somewhere in there....
ReplyDeleteThere's some sure fire winners in that selection!
ReplyDeleteSx
Most of the artistes I've never heard of, but then I tend towards the music of my yoof and orperah!
ReplyDeleteThis is currently being played one by one, for our one day in the office. It is Pride afterall, and everybody is loving it.
ReplyDeleteLove!
ReplyDeleteI'm putting them in my Spotify. They'll be my 'driving' playlist.
Remembering Anne Marie!
XOXO
