Happy Gay Pride Weekend🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈
I was tickled everyone loved my attempt last weekend with posting my song list when I was up at the Woods Campground with attempting to DJ. So here is the second part of the set I picked. We certainly can't have a Pride Weekend without a Tea Dance, so again, the gates are open at the Casa du Borghese...with no doubt, our dear Anne Marie over looking us all from Fabulon... making sure were misbehaving and dancing!!!! This picks up where Stephanie Mills left off...now let's getting dancing and sweating and.....
🌈 HAPPY PRIDE EVERYONE!!!🌈
It’s approaching midnight here. Way too late for me to get started on this list. I would be awake and dancing all night. SG and I met at a tea dance, but I can’t remember one song that played that afternoon. Time froze and we were surrounded by silence. Ain’t that romantic? I‘m off to bed. Anne Marie would be proud of you!
ReplyDeleteWow, Scoot! How Tony and Maria of you two, *sigh*.
DeleteFunny Mitchell...I met more guy and had romances from tea dances, then I did on club nights. And we know Anne Marie is dancing her ass off.
DeleteLOVE THIS...especially the Freemasons Katherine Ellis song. MAJOR Bob Fosse /Sweet Charity vibes choreography ! I bet you had those boys drenched.
ReplyDeleteThat was what drew me to the song originally ...was the Fosse choreo.
DeleteMistress!!!!! I wish I was there to dance with all this!!!!! Damn your good. I was one of the lesbians that loved dancing with the gay boys. I would give anything for this music again. Pure adrenaline.
ReplyDeleteYou got some gold in here.
Yay for dancing lesbians 🌈🏳🌈🌈
DeleteThis music will never cease to give me life.
and what the mistress omitted was she was at the 1:47 in leopard in the Sofi Tukker video.
ReplyDeleteWhat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteIM sweating!
ReplyDeleteI've also sign you up at the Boatslip.
That tired old Boatslip wouldn't know what hit it.
DeleteAre you sure it was the Boat Slip this time and not the Dick Dock?
DeleteNot that both aren't fun.....
I LOVE YOU!!!!! I remember how pumped I was to hear music like this. There was so much hope in the 90's.... I like your selections because there is enough for everybody to dance too and a nice balance of old and newer songs. Happy Pride indeed. Now back to listening to the rest.
ReplyDeleteI have never been clubbing in my life, so I've never heard of most of these people. These were probably my raising children/teenagers without going out of my mind and becoming homicidal years.
ReplyDeleteRaising children/teenagers!!!!! See a little ABBA would have helped with that stress of it all, lmao!!!!!!!!
DeleteI liked the movie Mama Mia, oddly enough. I don't really care for ABBA though. I do like the song Fernando, but Cher does it better. I sang and listened to Broadway Showtunes and movie musicals during that time period. It relaxed me, but I think my singing may have traumatized my sons. Heh.
DeleteYou haven't hear traumatizing singing till you heard me sing.
DeleteYou weren't attempting to DJ, darling. You DJed. You did it and I have no doubt it was divine and you pulled it off with panache.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
This is real music. Love the beat, love the sound, love the voices. You got some bumpin' and jumpin' Maddie!!!! You'd make an awesome dj.
ReplyDeleteI miss this dance music like this song. Early 90's had the BEST dance music!!! Lets go clubbing everybody. This music is so missed.!!! I have never even heard the Whintney Houston and Debra Cox song. How in hell did I MISS that one?
ReplyDeleteI fist became aware of that song for a drag routine with Miriam Webster.
DeleteWow, what a lineup!
ReplyDeleteYasss HENNY!! Werk that runway honey! You are definitely a creature of the night. A club kid at heart. You got some church up in here with the Happy Clappers..Hellar and Farley...Lil Louis's Club Lonley...that was the bomb gurl.... talk about ballroom..and no anthem like Pride-A Deeper Love to bring the children to worship. HEY!!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Mack...we need a huge dance party for us all...you in?
DeleteEmpress, Miss Mack is always in! You should have seen his look for Suzanne Bartsch's party this weekend I got!!!!!
Deletethank you for all of this; i Needed some comfort.
ReplyDeleteComfort? My adrenaline is in overtime sweet cheeks.
DeleteEPIC lineup again!!!!!!!! How I wish I was there to have danced to your sections! Damn your good. I remember the Mariah Carey song getting us boys worked up but good to that Dream Lover remix. Good times
ReplyDeleteLove Stonebridge and huge fans of Sofi Tukker.
Thank God I experienced the 90s house scene!!!!!!!!!!! You had me with A Deeper Love. And lest'd be honest...Aretha can sing, but her version couldn't hold a candle to the Deborah Cooper version....as Miss Mack said...that was having some church!!!!! Rozalla, Livin Joy and Crystal Waters were some good memories. I listened to this whole thing, my big ass was movin girl!
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT line up!!!! I Believe, from the Happy Clappers was my club jam back in those days.Sandra Edwards is the best, and the song still has much relevance to 2021 - lets sing "I believe we're equal every color and creed". I notice your song have messages in them.
ReplyDeleteI bet you had those boys wanting more!!!!!!! Love the mix of old and new and everything in between....It should be illegal to play this at low volume and sit in place. You had me dancing in my chair Mistress.
ReplyDeleteWhere does the new generation dance now? Do they even dance?????
I have no idea. Its a shame they can't experience what we did.
DeleteI hope you do another one at the Woods when I'm there again.
ReplyDeleteThe pure euphoria this gives...
I saw you dancing in your speedo!!
DeleteDang, listening to this song on my headphones right now comes closest to actually being inside a club these days!
ReplyDeleteClub Borghese - on a wonderful summer night! I wanna put my heels on and gig.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making my night bright with some of these house songs😍 Man I need to go dancing. what I like, you have no idea what's coming next, it just gets better with each selection and ends with a BANG!
ReplyDeleteThis list absolutely rips!
This list has to be some of the best house tracks ever made and house is a feeling that you can't describe you feel. I am grooving to this
ReplyDeleteWERK IT BITCH. THIS COLLECTION. Happy Clappers, old school. Lil Louis...excellent. Chicago born and raised. Just another legend in Chicago's history in helping create the House Sound of Chicago and place it of the house map.
ReplyDeleteI'd twirl but my dogs and bunions are already barking from tonight
Gravy aint a beverage bitch. Thats why your bunions are hurting.
DeleteYou got that right QUEEN! Lil' Louis was THE best house group to come out of Chicago.
DeleteYou and this list was fucking brilliant!! I felt good just listening to them. Didn't know some.
ReplyDeleteWow! Just finished skimming through both line-ups (this and last week's), and there are so many happy memories (and new joys) here! Apart from Mariah-fucking-Carey and Wibbler Whitney (and a couple of "unavailable in your country" tracks), this would be a party to remember! Jx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help myself with Mariah Carey...she had to songs this one and Fantasy that were remixed by David Morales and Junior Vasquez that sent the boys into obit...but it was the music part that did it. I can say I liked her early stuff, but once I went to the clubs...that music took over and she went to the wayside. Can't stand her later stuff at all...especially the fucking Christmas song. She needs stabbed with a ice pick
DeleteUm, I recognize a few of those. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was my youth. 80s and 90 were the best years for music and you nailed it! I wouldn't be surprised if your asked to do another?
ReplyDeleteIm here to tell you the queen had the tea dance jumping.
DeleteAgain, you got this old states lady of the group moving and shaking...shaking more like it. They give this old broad new life! Long live dance music, long live Gay Pride and long live Anne Marie!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHERE! HERE!
DeleteMuch of these before my time, but still loved hearing them. Excellent sounding. When music was more melodic, groovy, hard-hitting.
ReplyDeleteI just finished the playlist now I wanna go dancing! And just so you know the guy from Sofi Tuckker gives me the vapors...I have always thought he is hot!
ReplyDeleteMe TOOOOOOO! He makes me quiver.
DeleteWhen you heard many of these intros drop, you immediately grabbed a partner and ran towards the center of the dance floor, in a sea of shitless men! Good times and Happy Pride to ALL!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm 65..... I remember many of these from summers of gay destinations. So much nostalgia! You have given this old man some very fond memories if my gay youth...hadn't heard some of these in years.
ReplyDelete💗🧡💛💚💙💜
DeleteI'm creating another playlist as I type.
ReplyDeleteThese are absolute bangers and I'm ready to dance!
Honorable mentions to Crystal Waters and Miss Houston!!
Dance!
XOXO
Was never a HUGE Whitney Fan, but I did love this ditty. Type away cutie...
DeleteYou burned the place down again!!!!!!!!!!! I was a huge fan of Stonrbridge, Take Me Away was always a favorite... but seems to be largely forgotten....a shame, because it's a cracking record!
ReplyDeleteAnd I may be gay, but Nelly Furtado is scorching hot! And that song? That's one woman Id have sex with.
Totally agree! I have always thought Nelly Furtado is one of the hottest singers.
DeleteYou making me cry again, boo. Kym Sims. I was just playing her the other day. Sandy B, too. You the best. Gloria Gaynor and Kellie Marie. Too much. Love Freemasons and Stonebridge... you got a great mix going. Thank you. I even like that Mariah. OH and Deborah Cox giving Houston a run for the mun. YES. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteWould it be nice to be able to go dancing to house music sometime?!?!?! I bet your a good dancer.
DeleteKym Sims "Too Blind To See It" - YESSSSSSS!!!! I haven't heard this in an age! Thank you, Maddie x
