Drag Race UK fans got a taste of Bimini Bon-Boulash's over the top style, and musical talent during the series, but since then, she shows no signs of slowing down. I always loved she style, but this song I came across as a recommendation...LOVE IT...LOVE the sound. The song, God Save This Queen tackles issues of class, anti-LGBT hate and living her their best "gender free life. The sound and style reminds me of another group or artist, but can't put my finger on it. Regardless...I'm obsessed. Can't get the song out of my head. I just wanna bop...
NOW....THIS IS A BIMINI BON BOP hennnny! Loved it
ReplyDeleteBIMINI BON BOP! HA!
DeleteGod I love this queen.
ReplyDeleteMany all of the Rugirls who put out music, with exception to a few, make the cringiest, least talented, horrible music... But THIS is actual music. God.. Drag Race UK season 2 was absolute magic!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Most are catchy...but very few of them have the guts of a song like Trixie, Sharon or Alaska. But this is a actual song I could hear on the radio. I just saw a new video of Denali and Lala. Yikes. What was the point? And Denali still looks a mess.
DeleteOh dear, I saw the video. I think they were showing there dancing talents, but I'm surprised they did a lip synch, and not sing the song with what all the ru girls using their own voices.
DeleteAnd Let's not discuss the looks. Im in a good mood right now.
The sound was giving me early 00s realness.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this. Definitely British and definitely a hit. A very modern British hit.
ReplyDeleteI would give this 10's across the board!!!! Not my usual flavor of music, but I liked it.
ReplyDeleteThere was me hoping for a riff on the national anthem!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S an anthem! I love Bimini.
ReplyDeleteI like it! there's a little bit of it that reminds me of Squeeze - Cool for Cats, and a bit of it that reminds me of Ian Drury. Jon might have a better idea of what this sounds like.
ReplyDeleteSx
Oh, yes! "Cool For Cats" - I thought that too. And some of the outfits had me thinking of Vivienne Westwood.
DeleteKind of a throwback to some 60s pop. I love it, and love the accent, and, yeah, I'll be singing it all day!
ReplyDeleteFabu. Love her take on Alice's tea party. Visiting that Wonderland? Would be eye-opening. The song is fun. Love the chorus. Has a lot to say... and the Keith Flint moments are cool, too. Very refreshing. And what a great month to hear this. Thanks for sharing, hon. You find the best stuff. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteI love that plaid outfit!
ReplyDeleteLoved it when Bimini said 'love you, mum'!
ReplyDeleteBimini has fantastic taste and a point of view. I think that even though she did not 'win', she's still a winner, baby. Loved the styling and the punk rock vibe. This Queen can deliver a LOOK with a message.
Beauty and substance. Also, I'm with Debra. Gimme that plaid outfit NOW.
XOXO
As the old statewoman here and old bag, I listened and love it! I would also wear that plaid outfit. Does this make me a bit hip? You always bring some new music to these old ears, I most likely would hear.
ReplyDeleteAgnes, having never met...I can tell you are WAYYYYYYYYYY hip! I have the feeling.
DeleteDefinitely a punk rock vibe and I LUV the plaid outfit too, but I KNOW I would never be able to teeter along in those stiletto boots, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd how do you not love a queen with a name like Bimini Bon-Boulash right?
ReplyDeleteToo early for a club beat... LOL. I'll stop by later for a proper listen.
ReplyDeleteLove this, will look forward on your next post. :)
