One of the queens to always come out with music and hits the mark right on with a fresh current sound, and with a danceable beat in my opinion, has always been Alaska Thunderfuck. Alaska is here yet again with Brooklyn's mainstay Kandy Muse, for this fun surprisingly poignant electro banger about the sense of isolation that's part and parcel of a drag queen's life. I love the video shows the queens in and out of drag, showing that queens do have two sides and bend the gender. This was filmed before Kandy's season aired on Drag Race.
I am a lady who loves ladies.. but Alaska in that cropped tank top has me feelin some sort of fabulous ecstasy. I LIVE FOR THIS ABSOLUTE QUEEN!
ReplyDeleteGREAT Madonna tribute at the end there; from the lyrical style, down to the dance...reminded me of Vogue Queen Leiomy, down to that fake gap in your teeth!!!! That ladies is Attention To Detail henny.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. Made me realize I never have asked a drag queen how her day’s been. I never know what to say to a drag queen in drag. It always seems like reality has been removed from the equation.
ReplyDelete... where's the musicality?
ReplyDeleteI love Alaska.
ReplyDeleteHer persona is multifaceted. She's funny and sharp and I love how she gives body-ody-ody. The video is fun and bouncy. Was that a Jesus cutout on the dance floor? I'd like to think it was.
And Miss Mack is right. Madonna nod there.
I think including Silky 2.0 in the video is a barf. Can't take that basic, one tone bitch. Maybe she's there because of the 'sitting alone in the VIP' meme. Still. Can't wait until 'the muse' is irrelevant.
Alaska rules.
XOXO
Depending how you look at it, fortunately or unfortunately, the House of Aja are very popular in Brooklyn and Manhattan, which includes Kandy.
DeleteYou mean the House of Distaste don't you. Aja, Dahlia, Janelle No 5, and Kandy have no taste and are among the rudest queens I know. All of them rough around the edges and feel they are owed entitlement without the work. I call them bottom feeders.
DeleteThat wig deserves a special mention.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will be saying "Move" all day long.
Alaska eyecandy!
ReplyDeleteThis got me jump started this morning! And I don't even mind Kandy.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this. Because I love Alaska's music and what's not to love about Meatball?
ReplyDeleteI'm late getting started this morning...yet, it's still too early for club music. 😉
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! And I don't mind Kandy even.
