So in walks into a bar, a fabulous woman, a health insurance professional, a realtor, a medical professional and a drag queen. Is this a joke, asks the bartender. It was no joke, but a good time was had by all, and I was standing up!!!!!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of catching up once again with Anne Marie, who apparently has not yet tired of my antics. If we keep getting spotted together all over town rumors are bound to ensue. We were joined by her entertaining spouse Arteejee, and in from San Diego , the handsome Fearsome Beard and his equally handsome husband Ken. I do believe Fearsome' s beard makes up half my length dears!!! It was a beautiful day weather wise. After hanging in the hotel lobby talking and getting caught up, we all headed over to Magganio's Little Italy for a early dinner. WHAT A FEAST!!! And you'll all be happy to know, I didn't drink the place dry. It was very entertaining to hear how Anne Marie and Arteejee met, and when I think of it, it is still making me laugh. After dinner we talked more, before catching our respective trains back home, but not before Anne Marie gave an impromptu history lesson of the Convention Center building which used to be the major train hub for the city. The architecture and beautiful ceiling is still intact. Fearsome and Ken stayed behind, as they are in town for most of the week. Upon getting in the city, I headed down early since it was so beautiful to take a walk about and took a few snaps and enjoyed a gin to two before our meet up.
Philly does old and new together pretty well.
William Penn, atop of city hall watching over all the debauchery.
My interest may be piqued?!?!?!?! I take a foot long please.
Walked past this cool mural Love its design; it's a real...pixel-me-up. Oops, I'd better...swatch what I say, or else I'll lose readers. Please direct complaints/suggestions to my content management intern, Houseboy #16..
Caught a drink or two and made merry at Ubar. Ubar is one of those great, no nonsense neighbor bars where everyone is friendly and has at fun, good times atmosphere.
Love the restroom door signs. No shame is the name of the game!!!
It was yet another fun filled and relaxing day, with what seemed like old friends. It is always so fun meeting up with other bloggers and readers alike. One must grab these moments and enjoy them. And Anne Marie behaved for the most part.
I ALWAYS BEHAVE, bitch! :)
ReplyDeleteyesterday WAS so much fun, but oy vey our knees were screaming this morning; damn arthritis.
I'm so jealous!!!! With my engagements yesterday I wish I could have made it. But music always calls. Sounds like a fun time was had. Loves you city pictures too.
ReplyDeleteyou are SO adorable! one of these days I hope to meet you!
Deleteit's nice to see you in a upright position for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteand at first glance I thought you were with the guy from zz top.
Ms Moorecock, Fearsome and his base face are much more handsome than anyone from ZZ Top! Just my lowly opinion.
DeleteYeah, I too didn't recognize him standing up.
DeleteIm surprised you guys didn't opt for the Naked Lunch?
ReplyDeletethey don't serve booze.
DeleteTHAT is what weekends are for my friend. Looks like a good time. Love the wall mural!!! I love see them...it's like free art for all. And you didn't drink a place dry????????
ReplyDeleteOh, mon Dieu... qu’est-ce que ce monde vient aussi?
Oh, how wonderful! If Naked Lunch is anything like the Wililam S Burroughs book, I'd be careful.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same. As long as there weren't any German opioid, or manipulative sadist, they were probably all right.
Deletehttps://momsorganicmarket.com/nakedlunch
DeleteI thought I left a comment somewhere else, but, anyway, it's good to finally see what you--at least the REST of you--looks like.
ReplyDeleteKind of boy-next-doorish, actually.
maddie DOES have an innocent air about her. but don't let that face fool ya; underneath there is the devil!
DeleteI agree with Anne Marie Kirk. He might look like a boy next door...but he is a wolf in sheeps clothing!!!
DeleteI was just looking at the previous post. We have the Mistress Borghese, a Madam Arcati, a duchess and a countess. What the hell is this, the Imperial Court of New York?
ReplyDeleteI also think I need a trip to Philly. I mean good times, beautiful sights, naked lunches....
naked lunch doesn't serve booze. git yer sweet ass over here so we can all meet up and have fun!
DeleteYes, watch out for prying eyes and the paparazzi...they will have you two embroiled in a passionate love affair Mistress!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe day sounds divine, and I too love Maggiano's. We spilt a portion when we go...but so good. Glad you all have the chance to meet up like this. And as always what lovely pictures of our beautiful city. Im sure Penn was thinking, "Oh no, here he comes again."
maddie has her eye out for old billy...
DeleteLoverly town pictures and good reporting
ReplyDeleteof a fun time by all. xoxoxoxoxo :-)
I've only been to an airport in your fair state. Twice. It looks so very historical there. Love, love, love the bathroom sign! That is a lovely group picture. RTG looks like the character actor, Richard Riehle. I kept looking at his picture, trying to put my finger on who he reminds me of. Anne Marie, of the sweet carebear face and sailor shaming mouth, how I adore her! It ain't healthy I tells ya! Maddie, cute as ever with cheekbones that can cut glass! Fearsome Beard, always a joy to behold. How tall is that man?
ReplyDeleteYour right!!! Actually Deedles, that really is Richard Riehle. He just let his hair down to be incognito!!!! Anne Marie keeps it a huge secret.
Deleteshit, I had to google richard's name, as it was not familiar to me. holy shit, I LOVE OFFICE SPACE! and you girls are correct! I think fearsome is 6'2". the rest of us are short people. it's nice to be adored, duchess!
DeleteAnne Marie, just a silly psa here: If one's shit is holy, one should probably look into a different diet!
DeleteAs for Richard Riehle, he's one of those actors who is very good at what he does, but nobody remembers his name.
I DO like swiss cheese...it has holes...
DeleteCarebear, you are incorrigible!
Delete:) guilty as charged!
DeleteMaggiano's?!? Your talking my kind of eating now. The only problem is I have to be rolled away and down the street home!!!! It certainly was a beautiful day..I was all over the gayborhood with my peeps. Wonder I didn't ran into you guys. That is also one of my favorite murals in the city.
ReplyDeletewell, maddie and I have to plan a meetup with you and cello josh now!
DeleteWait till you have a blogger meetup at the Woods one year. We will need pictures of that. I think I need to move to Philadelphia. Your post sure do sell me on.
ReplyDelete...and the bartender says, "uh oh here comes trouble"! :D
ReplyDeletedat be da trooth!
DeleteWhat a delight! I am mad-jealous to have not been there. I am glad to read you all had good fun.
ReplyDeletewe talked about you...
DeleteOk, y'all making me Philly sick! The worst thing I ever did was move from there. No where like the Northeast cities. I have lived on the west, but the character and history isn't there, Texas, just plain crazy, Chicago, nice, but to damn windy and winter sucks there, lingers to long. I will someday move back to Philly. Sounds like a fun day. Philly is also a great walking city...one of the best in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIT IS! come back, asriel!
DeleteWell, the gin flowed, and the laughs were made, and the memories shared.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fabulous time!
Looks like another fabulous time was had! You sure do get around Mistress.
ReplyDeletegawd, does she EVAH!
DeleteI can hardly wait to come see the fine city again. Maybe I can save some hotel money and say at the Casa du Borghese???
ReplyDeleteAnd when you say Fearsome Beard is half you length, just exactly which length are we talking about?
Oh to be a Philadelphia...…...
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see bloggers meeting up - I'm glad you had fun! I wish I could do a world tour and meet everyone.
ReplyDeleteSx
And if I go come along on your world tour, I'd have my social director, ms moorecock do all the work!!!!! First stop would have to be the Informatiac Manor.
DeleteSounds like just one G & T short of a right ol' bacchanalia. Only wish I'd been there to eavesdrop - and to surreptitiously poke out a hidden camera. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe'd welcome you with open gin bottles and arms friend.
DeleteHELL YEAH, RAYBEARD!
DeleteWell, thanks to ya'll but one problem (among all the others) is that I've been teetotal for 2.5 years now. Never mind, you'll have to guzzle down my drinks for me.
DeleteMaddie, that demure-looking smile isn't fooling anyone - there's more than a hint of mischief about it. In fact, everyone looks mischievious! No wonder you all had such a great time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, as always.
I'm as pure as the driven slush.
Deleteand just as dirrrrrrrty!
DeleteShe's pure as New York snow. She's got Bette Davis eeeeyes! Crap, I'm going to be humming that for the rest of the day!
DeleteIt appears a great time was had by all. Rumor has it that you will, "take a foot long please."
ReplyDeleteIt appears I will be in Philly Labor Day weekend.
You should let me know you plans dear...hmmmmmm.......maybe a chance meet up!!!!!
Deleteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! meetup time!
DeleteMy who knew such a innocent guy packed such heat.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. You all look like your looking for trouble.
But you wants to behave?
DeleteSo nice to hear you had a wonderful weekend. I'm back from my conference and catching up. I'm all-in for a Naked Lunch - could've used one these past few days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the extraordinary Candy! Gorgeous!
And, the PSA's are so very helpful.
Hugs, my mistress!!!!
I'm so glad this meetup happened and everyone had a great time.
