AOC REMIXED

AOC'S Tax the Rich dress got remixed! I say tax then both!!!! It time for Washington to grow balls and start taxing the churches in addition to the very rich. Taxing religious institutions would generate between  60 -100 billion a year, enough to do many things with, like provide every student in the US with a free college education if they would go off to further education.

Churches also buy, own, and hold property, putting up signs that say "future home of" Then they turn around and sell it at a huge profit with NO TAXES PAID. Fair?  I say it's time to tax the churches.  Tax the mega churches, the religious empires and the very fishy and cult like tele-evangelists and the like. The overwhelming number of churches and worship centers are modest centers of community and support that contribute untold service ...and then there are the bloodsuckers.

I don't have anything against religion personally. But it is rather like a cock. It's fine to have one and it's ok to be proud of it. But please don't whip it out in public and never try to shove it down other peoples throats, without their consent.  Just saying if Washington would tax not only the rich more, and churches , even just 5% we could even give universal healthcare for all.

  2. I'm more disgusted then I have been in some time. It is getting very close to what is so great here anymore? Everything is getting to be a rip off and nothing to show of taxes. And if the churches really are "for the good of man kind" then they shouldn't mind paying taxes if it does good.

    1. I still get worked up with certain things... and other days I think I should just shut all news off permanently. I don't think it will ever get better. We seem to have only corp politicians anymore.

  3. All of Washington needs to push this!!! As an ex Catholic, the net worth of the Catholic church= billions, and yet they pay their teachers almost poverty wages. This could go back to your post last week, Oh wait...that's why they have billions. No taxes, ow wages, and guilting people into donating constantly. Screw them.

  4. So true.Must be why when I was little I remember my priest only driving Corvettes.

I hope Biden plans to put in place more taxes on those who should be. But he'll never tax churches I just have a feeling.

    1. I bet you're right about Biden not taxing his church - I bet they'd excommunicate him

  5. I'm with you; tax the rich and the churches. Allegedly, the Virgin Mary’s house was carried from Jerusalem to Loretto by angels – I bet the angels weren’t too impressed by their burden nor the pointlessness of the task. Back in the late 17th century George I’s mother wasn’t too impressed by the fact that the mother of god owned “fine estates, many mansions, twelve coaches and six, and large numbers of lackeys and other servants.” How she managed that was that supplicants would give gold and bejewelled statue's to the Madonna. Over the years these were sold off as more and more statues etc. poured in. The money was spent enriching the "Virgin" and her son's church. When you consider how many sites of Christian influence the Catholic church found over the centuries you can imagine the riches all pile up. Yes the church does help feed the poor, but they also feed the Vatican bank accounts.

  7. Ban religion altogether! It was only Eisenhower who changed the motto of the USA from E pluribus unum to "In God We Trust" in 1956 anyhow, turning a long-established secular state into today's insane religion-obsessed mess...

Here we have HM The Queen as head of the Church of England, which is constitutionally much worse, yet no-one in the UK behaves as obsessively about it as the Yanks. Jx

    1. I agree with you. Too many people are concerned with what's going on behind closed doors of others, that doesn't even affect them. It is getting far more obsessive here lately.

  8. I also thought the churches were supposed to stay out of politics in exchange for their exemption. How’s that going?

    1. There are certain things the church and government should have no right to tell anyone what to do. Isn't that the whole reason we left one country to start another?

  9. Get religion out of politics. Or tax it like the business it is.

  10. The religulous keep getting into politics. Tax their asses!
    It's such a get-rich-scheme it's ridiculous.

  14. I was at one time a good Catholic girl. I not only drank the koolAid but swam in it. But then I divorced and remarried to a Jewish man-William. When I had kids and knew there could be the possibility one of my children could gay. I wouldn't care. What the Bible says and what Christians say are two totally different things. But even the Bible says to pay taxes and that churches should also pay taxes. I 100% believe in the separation of church and state. Churches should pat taxes and have no power over people except spiritually.

  15. Churches need to be taxed because they lobby so hard in government and many polictians/their base think American laws should be based off their beliefs. If you want your hands in the political pot, then the church needs to be taxed. Like a couple said here, Biden would never ax the churches...he would be tossed out by his own religion.

  16. This nonsense needs to end with taxes! And no one has the balls to do it!

  17. AOC's dress and the Remix, as opposed to "I Don't Care Do You" ... equals progress.

  18. Here's the thing. 'The people" wouldn't be getting the tax revenue. The politicians and their clients would be getting it. That would be the next hurdle. This country is so far fucked up, there is no coming back.

  19. Congress should have gone after churches way back when they helped get Prop H8 passed here in California. The Rock Church alone gave $25k. It still pisses me off to this day.

  20. I agree! Tax both the rich and churches!

  21. YAZZZZZZ. So on board. The Catholic Church can float on all that gold their hoarding at the Vatican. And those mega churches make my blood boil. That horrible Joel Olsteen... I want to punch his stupid plastic face in. And his wife... tight azz b&tch. Joyce Meyers, too... they have more than enough... and have actually lost all sight re: what spirituality is about... IT'S NOT MONEY, HONEY! Kizzes.

  22. I like this thought. At the very least, the "church" of scientology should be taxed. That is not a church. And those damn mega-churches. If the pastor or minister or whatever of a church is taking in a huge salary, then tax the church.

    Love,

A true classical liberal stance. Just like you don't want the church influencing policy making decisions, you can't be for separation of church and state and also want to tax the churches.

    1. Churches are there for our spirituality needs and nothing else. If they dabble in politics then they need taxed...sorry. In the same breath you say, a church can't have it both ways either. Religion and politics should never be mixed.

  25. I was taught that you can't buy your way into heaven, but some of these churches and pastors are sure as heck trying. I don't know how the heck anyone can argue with them paying some taxes.

  26. All should be Taxed, no exemptions. So many Organizations that pretend to be Non-Profits actually are Profiting and the obscenely Rich have never paid their Fair Share, nor the biggest Corporations. The Mega Corporations get preferential treatment all the time and they don't need it, time to restructure our entire Taxation System.
