THE MOUNTAINS

This past weekend, my good friend up at the Woods Campground , which is one of my favorite gay places in the Pocono Mountains was away and asked if we wanted to come up anyhow. I threw what I could muster in my new straw bag you saw in a post last week,  and some food and drink into two market bags and off we went. Is it bad when the liquor bag weighs more than the clothing bag????

The place is great , even though a huge percent of the guest is gay, all are welcome. The amenities are excellent and very modern and extremely clean. If you have seen my numerous past post, you know this place is great fun and new friends to be made... and it's not really camping, its glamping honey. You can stay clothed or be as nude as you want...everything goes!!! So my good friend Mame, AKA David Dust, and I went. It was glorious, very hot, but glorious. As I saw on Jenifer's blog today the term "high summer" this is the perfect place to spend it, while still not being near people if you don't want. Being that I was getting dark thoughts again, it's was what I needed.  The camp has a masking wearing guideline in all common areas, even though we kept to ourselves most of the time on the site or on hikes.  Did lay out and catch some rays. And the owners didn't play. We saw and heard people told to leave the area and collect their belongings to leave the campground for those not wearing masks and following guidelines in clubhouse, lanai, camp shop, pool area and deck. Served them right. We only got into the pool once 90% of the crowd retired. I must have been quite the sight with my mask, sunglasses and huge hat, with my junk swing about!!!!!

But the highlight was the nature but of course. The lake is one of my favorite parts. And the dock is a favorite place for me to lay in the buff. This trip was mostly a lovely low key, nature weekend.

Part of the sight.

The guys on this sight...this is their converted golf cart?!?!?! One year Ill do Cruella de Vil in that thing!!!!!!!

And these guys who are bears, on their site,  had light up bears to send a message. Cute.

Tent guard on duty!!!!!

Sunday found me on the hammock, after Mame left,  for most of the day, while listening to Ella Fitzgerald on the Bluetooth. It was so relaxing just laying there swinging about and snoozing. And the view above.

It was the most heavenly part of the weekend.

  2. I love how you are still getting to do things but do it safety. This look's like heaven. I swear one day I am going there to check this place out. It's one of the best in the country I saw in one article. Your picture are stunning. I love the moss covered trees. And your swimmies.

  4. Very nice indeed! I would love to see you do Cruella De Vil in that car! As for the hammock shot, I will not mention anything about tent pitching. I am a lady, after all. I will say that you have fantastic legs that look down right lickable! I'm a lady, not dead. All the camping stuff looks fantabulous as well.

    1. It was nice Deedles..because you can get away from the house, live on the sight for a change of scenery and still not have to see people if you don't want and still be safe. Lickable legs!!!! Someone might get hair in their mouth?!?!?

  5. This is lovely. High Summer all right!
I was reading that being around all that green is actually good for our cognitive abilities and helps us fight depression.
I love that little tiny house/RV/cabin! And the stream!
    And that doggie. Too cute!

And you were showing leg? Oh La La!

    XOXO

    1. Sixpense...your right about the green. Could be why I always feel at peace when I come back from there. It's the same feeling I get when I get back from a beach point.

Green outdoors is good, but when I was going to school for design, we were always told no green in a home as far as paint was good. It casts terrible light on the skintone, and in a kitchen is terrible against food. Never had a green room myself. But I do believe green in nature is very good for us. You would love this place, I bet you be fun to take there. The lake and stream are two of my favorites up there.

I was showing off all three legs at times.

    2. The only green in a house should be in artwork, plants, or veggies...

Oh, Maddie, all three legs??? I would SO love that place.

  7. Looks relaxing. There reliable sources that say it is not junk, that it is nice and reasonably functional. I can’t verify that, others may be able to do so.

  8. What lovely pictures!!!!! I have never been to the Pocono's mind you , but hear they go on forever. Your lake shot and that incredible shot of the Queen Anne's Lace is breathtaking. It's one of my favorites. Make me now wonder...is it a flower or a weed? Which ever they are so pretty and delicate. Look like a nice weekend Mistress.

    1. It's actually considered a weed...even though many Europeans plant it in gardens. It also happens to be part of the carrot family...and it's roots can be eaten.

  12. Ok boy...rub the salt in the wounds. With flying I won't make it this year. Byt your pictures are so pretty and make up for not making it this year. I fell in love with this place because of you and where we met once. And your right, a perfect place to either be alone or around a few if you want. Good to hear also a place take responsibility for guidelines, but then they do everything right there. Jealous you live so close to it and that opening shot....I know right where that is. Loved the weiners!

  14. What a beautiful place to spend time. Green, tranquil and calming. A lovely retreat from the madness we are living through.

No its not bad that your liquor bag is heavier than your clothes. That's being prepared!

We should have been cruising the Danube this next week on a small vessel with a string quartet accompanying our evening meals and visiting some wonderful places. Alas, covid has put an end to that.

So, beans on toast for tea.....
    Take care.

And I’ll volunteer to apply the sunscreen. You don’t want to burn.

  19. How absolutely glorious! If we had anything even close tot his near here, I'd be there. I love the heat, I love Summer, but having a place to go where I could walk and commune with nature au naturelle...I most certainly would. I love walking along trails with the goods swinging free, taking in the sights.
