THE TRUTH IS....

...it's not been easy, rather, things have been tough at the Casa du Borghese since letting go all the house staff.
I just hope mother, I and the racoons can pull through.

And if your a night owl, like me....

  5. I have a fourteen year old staying with me until something changes. We spent the day yesterday fishing tampons out of the commode that she tried to flush along with shit. Good times. TMI?

  8. OMG that first Image had me rolling, along with letting the House Staff go! *ROTFLMAO!* The other Night, as a lark, I turned to Faux {Fox} News and one of their Blonde Bimbo Journalists was lamenting {seriously no less} how much of a hardship it would be now to have to let her Au Pair go due to The Orange Menace banning Immigration and so her 'Staff' wouldn't be able to get their Work Visa renewed in order to stay! Shit! She acted as tho' the masses all have Au Pair and could commiserate with her! The Granddaughter hit the reality Home when she turned and asked, "Gramma, what's an Au Pair?! *Bwahahahaha* Clearly, we do not have Staff and I can't recall anyone I've ever known having an Au Pair! *Smiles*

    1. Gay men LOVE this movie Anne Marie. It truly is a fascinating watch, and uncomfortable at times. I can't believe Jackie Kennedy Onassiss let them live like that so long. Rumors swirled for years before the movie was seen, that these two were living in squalor. She had to have known before she stepped in.

  11. Gray Gardens is a study in solitude and an ode to fierce individuality and its side effects. Very appropriate for these times, I should say. Little Edie is an icon.
You'll be fine. They can't keep a good woMan down.
And now I'm going to have to watch the documentary again...

    XOXO

    1. I think the "fierce individuality" is why I see myself never being partnered again.

  12. After the musical Grey Gardens I finally watched this documentary. It's exceptional, comical, and heartbreaking. And I was was so impressed with how well the musical followed the documentary. The acting, too, was brilliant and they both deserved the awards and accolades they received.

  18. Are you telling me you gave in to those awful neighbors and let the Houseboys go? Well, I hope you're being a good employer and keeping them on salary! Yes, yes, I know supplying them with gin can get expensive, but, my dear, you KNOW how tough it is to find hard men!

  19. I love the documentary, one of my favorites, even thought it is uncomfortable to watch at times.

Big Edie was unapologetic and a free thinker. Grey Gardens was a world of her own. It seems like her way of liberating her daughter from the social construct she had escaped on made her daughter resentful. Little Edie wanted the life she was promised and coped by living in the past. She is the human embodiment of missed opportunity and wasted youth. This documentary is truly powerful.

  21. This sounds like something I would never, ever watch (big surprise, huh?). I'm in a bit of a crying mood so I'll watch my old cathartic favorites. Brian's Song (that's song, with an s) and Beaches (with an ea). Afterwards, a palate cleanser of The Birds. I do love watching Tippi Hedren (I can't spell her name) getting whacked in the head by that gull! Serves her right for wearing that pukey green skirt and heels everywhere. Hugs everybody :)

    1. I love Beaches!!!! My favorite line and one I use a lot is, when CC takes Hillary to the beach, and she is being miserible about something CC fixed her for lunch, so CC corrects it, and gives it back to Hillary and says "THERE....HAPPY DEAR!"

I have been on a huge movie and virtual drag show binge.
