In the mall where our Bloomingdales is located, I very seldom venture into the mall. I have never been much of a mall shopper, opting for in town shopping. Very few stores in the malls I shop except for maybe 3 or 4 clothiers I frequent. The only time I go into the mall is for my second morning coffee and then head back to work to my shop in the store. I did however venture out when we got quite before Christmas to go and sit and watch the carousel our mall has indoors. The carousel has been refurbished from the old amusements park that used to sit on the grounds of the mall today. Pretty neat, and it's nice to see the magic the carousel still holds for the kiddies. It was always fun trying to get to ride your favorite animal, if it wasn't all horses....
The giraffe was always my favorite if it wasn't all horses.
But on Friday MM #1 FAN came for the weekend, and we went to Elmwood Zoo for a few hours where I fulfilled a Christmas wish...I fed a giraffe!!!!!
I already want to go back for a up close and personal tour with the giraffe's. And note...they slobber... a lot. but not as much as some men I've been with.
Did you have a favorite animal to search out?
Oh, me thinks you’re opening a can of worms with this one. Bears, otters, etc.
ReplyDeleteBut I always liked the lions, king if the jungle. Plus I’m a Leo.
Lets face it, I just enjoy a good ride.
DeleteWhatever animal was available. I was always afraid if I didn't find one right away, the thing would start spinning, and I would, I don't know, get thrown off or something.
ReplyDeleteyou drove past MY HOUSE on your way to the zoo!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am forwarding this post to my friend sassybear, who LOVES giraffes!
I would choose the tiger on this carousel. the carousel is a beautiful piece of art.
I wondered tootes. I know your on Swede Road somewhere's. And besides I thought I heard some cussing.....
DeleteGiraffes, eh? Is this your way of telling us you like to ride high.
ReplyDeleteI used to run the carousel/merry-go-round at our local amusement park when I was eighteen. I liked to ride any animal that went up and down instead of remaining stationary (let's not go there peeps). As for real live animals, my go to favorites were meerkats and tigers.
ReplyDeleteYou expect us to hold our tongues with a comment like that Deedles?!?!? It may back up and come out in another area. I too did like the up and down on the horses.
Deletewhen I was younger, I liked the ups-n-downs. now I like the stationary.
Deleteseems to me the three of ypu are up and down on things so much it's a wonder you don't need a Dramamine.
DeleteNow that right there is fun!!! What Christmas is all about...feeling like a kid again! Glad you had a great time feeding that giraffe. I can tell your tickled.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty!!!!!! I used to like riding in those ornate cars that had seats in it, I used to pretend I was a princess and waved to the crowds. That is amazing feeding a giraffe!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a heart warming post Mistress. I still love taking my grand kids to the merry go around. They just love it, and we give them several rides on one when we encounter one. City Hall had a nice one this holiday. LOVE THE VIDEO!!!!
ReplyDeleteToo go up and down, I thought a carousel would be the last thing you'd be on!
ReplyDeleteThe whole giraffe vibe is cool. Never been up close to a giraffe.
Loves the carousel!
ReplyDeletexoxoxo :-)
What... is it the big long neck that... no that's too easy. Lol on the slobbering comment! Giraffes are beautiful animals, I have been up close to some.
ReplyDeletethe mistress would fit right in with his long neck.
DeleteI guess we are so used to our place of work that we don't often stop and see it with the eyes of the uninitiated. I love the idea of keeping the carousel and using it as a memento of what used to be there in place of the Mall.
ReplyDeleteThat giraffe is too cute! Going to the zoo is actually pretty cool. They light up the zoo here and it's very pretty.
XOXO
Oh, yes his makes me so happy. The giraffe was always my favorite, too, if it wasn’t all horses. AND when we lived in San Diego, we went on what was called a photo caravan at the Wild Animal Park and hand-fed some animals. I put a huge carrot in my mouth and a giraffe wrapped his 18-inch tongue around it and pulled it out! https://mitchellismoving.blogspot.com/2017/12/some-tongue-un-poco-de-lengua.html
ReplyDeleteso many double entendres there...
DeleteAnimals I have sought out, bears! Two trips to Alaska and not a bear in sight, Glacier National Park they were all napping out of sight. Shenandoah National Park here in Virginia, four encounters, one that just wanted to graze and didn't care who watched.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...im familiar with that carousel. I used to love them, but don't know I could get my fat ass up and over a animals now. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea giraffes clobbered that much. I love there eyelashes....so pretty.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I am a diehard giraffe lover (and collector) and have had the luxury of feeding several giraffes in the past few years. It’s always a huge thrill for me. They are truly amazing animals.
