I can believe that it is December. Sort of, I mean we did almost, or did, hit 60 degrees this Saturday, with another mild week on tap. What I can't believe is that, it is Monday again?!?!?! I'll bet you can guess what two of these pictures this week sums up me today?!? If not for Christmas, December would be a ho hum month you ask me. It's the first month really that truly looks baron outside and all is "asleep" or as I call, all dead and sticky. Thankfully Christmas month comes with just enough beauty of its own, for me...the scent of cedar, boxwoods and pines and balsam pines, as I decorate mostly with them indoors and our fresh wreaths that adorn the doors, and all the woody and pine scented candles help too, along with bright or sparkly baubles of ornaments. I usually look forward to the holidays as it begins my wind down of social activities, but there seems to be no end in sight right through till the end of January. Oh dear.... let's breath in the pictures, shall we?
sOOOOOO me!
Oh the puppy warmed my heart but then the newest Houseboy Leonardo in a sequined onesie heated up my nether regions,
ReplyDelete"Ring for service," you little dickens!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I haven't had somebody call me a little Dickens since my late uncle! I've missed hearing that.
DeleteI love a nice Mood Board. And yours always match my aesthetics.
ReplyDeleteHug you.
L.
Oh thank you Laurent. I think you and I would have a lot in common.
DeleteI bet it takes a fair few bartenders to carry that champagne glass (sans dame)....not to mention a fair few Melchizedeks of champers to fill it.
ReplyDeleteI loved the puppy, too!
ReplyDeleteEven in retirement, Mondays still kind of suck. That adorable puppy is me right now.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics that put me in a December mood. And that fourth photo put me back in my wheelchair - - with smelling salts *smile*.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, if you had him there as a home aid I'm sure you would suffer many "setbacks" !!!!
DeleteI believe it's no coincidence (or virgin birth) that Christmas, as well as its pagan predecessor Yule, was purposely placed in December, because everything indeed is so barren and dead outside, as well as DARK. December would be a very depressing month without a holiday of some sort.
ReplyDeleteI believe you may be right Kirk. Although if we get snow then I don't mind it. There's nothing prettier than a freshly laid snow, and ice covered trees.
Deletering for service. let me guess...you show up with puckered lips and knee pads???
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the gun oil.
DeleteOh Maddie this is a great mood board to start December with. I just adore fresh pine and greens in the winter. And that puppy is just too adorable for words. And I totally thought of you immediately when I saw the Karen Walker one. That would not surprise me if you actually really do say that.
ReplyDeleteIs that Sophia Loren in the header? That woman know how to CUT a crease!
ReplyDeleteAnd I enjoy December. I don't like the maudlin sentiment, but I love some pines, and chestnuts in the fire and some good hot chocolate.
XOXO
Yep, that is the fabulous Sophia Loren. Cherished and adored by us at the Casa du Borghese.
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of a Jack pine forest, especially in the fall. We got a small layer of snow last night, just enough to make everything white. Winter is the season of hibernation -- everything is resting for the rejuvenation of the spring to come. Today, I feel like the puppy, just wanting to hide under my quilts in hopes that my to-do list will disappear.... yes, Virginia, I'm the Queen of Procrastination, LOL!
Yep you said it hibernation. Right after Christmas it's usually why I don't make a lot of plans right up leading to March or April. I like to recharge my batteries so to speak. And that really is the best time to be indoors.
DeleteMistress Maddie I'm in NEED of pool-boys, just send Azrak and Lindberg over. Of course, I expect them to wear Prada flip flops, Versace thongs, Dior mirrored sunglasses and Gucci baseball caps. :) - I must impress my sophisticated neighbors in So.Cal. and the pool is heated. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose two in a heated pool? That should be able to kill a few hours.
DeleteThe puppy is so cute, but so is the leotard with the big ole schlong in it!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Ahhhhhhhh, to be able to pull that leotard off. And I mean off him not me.
DeleteI think this is my favourite moodboard so far and theyve all been fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the puppy, the bird on the car wing mirror and of course, the lady who arrived when she wanted to!
My son in law is a bit of a recluse so last Christmas i bought him a t-shirt that said, "Sorry I'm late, I didn't want to come" . He loved it. My dauhter, not so much! 😂
LMAO!!!!!! I would love to have you as a Mother-in-law!!!!!! You're such a cracker!!!!
DeleteSMILE!
ReplyDeletea very interesting interview with Leonardo here where he tells also he's gay
ReplyDeleteAll those baubles make so much sense for you. Two especially.
ReplyDeleteLove me some Karen Walker. She can come late to my party any time she wants.
Rather adore that dancer man... is he a lord a leaping? Because I give him permission to waltz my way. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteOh Leonardo is a stunner!!! I swear....dancers are so fun in bed too.
