HuntleyBiGuy: Noooooooo! Summer can’t be over already. That means I’ll have to pick all of the apples off my tree, and I’m not looking forward to competing with the wasps for the apples and climbing a ladder. But we could use a little brisk weather before the snow flies.
I love the feeling of a little fall in the air. It's still fire season here but at least the triple digits are gone. Pammy, I want to hug the melancholy out of you, and steal that hat!
We just KNOW she can WEAR a hat! And I love that Lana song! I can't believe summer is over. I'm still holding on to some sun and surf but the mums are popping up.
Love that mash-up. Oh, I wish I had a gin and tonic and a mirror ball. Yes... summer. Yesterday, I said good-bye to the prairie. It is our last expected day of 80's temp (88) - today? High of 64. Fall fell hard. Boom. It's okay. It was a marvelous summer. Adored it. So sad to see it go. And thank you Pam... I just know you have a whole arse-nal of tricks up your sleeve. Or up your... well, whatever. Can't wait for your Xmas display. Shiny disco lights. Kizzes.
Pam the glam! I think Autumn is my least favourite season. I can't really explain it, it just feels sad. I'm already perusing the seed catalogues and planning what I'll grow next year so there is that. Onwards and upwards it will soon be spring!
While I think autumn is stunning with the sun and all its vibrant color...I know what your saying. For me I know once the colorful leaves are gone...everything looks dead and depressing....even though we know plant life is just taking a long snooze.
My ready supply of fresh home grown tomatoes is drying up as autumn comes in early this year. I've had the woodburner in flame most of the month. Fuel bills will be dire this winter as energy companies make more in a second than most people earn in a lifetime.
Fuck me! Peggy Lee lives! Jx
ReplyDeleteYour not the first to say that!!!!!!! Now how's about some Fever?

ReplyDeleteOur first day of fall was rather a drastic temperature change already...but no heat yet...we are still in the low 80's here, 50's at night.
