From a little girl living a carefree life with her dog to a Queen and all the responsibility and pressures that must have brought. She did a most excellent job, never stepping out of line.
A lovely mood board, you've captured Autumnal and ancient things which seem to belong together, along with the Queens passing.
Thank you Christina!!! I felt no words needed. She wasn't even my Queen and I was in a very melancholic mood Monday and today. I suspect we will never see the likes of her again.
Me too Adam. I watched as her monarch tools such as scepter and crown were returned....and her coffin was lowered into the vault and out of view....and then it was real.
Are you in mourning? I am of the sort that don't understand. This fictional queen... I mean, she lived quite the life. But... the reaction seems out of proportion. There are those who find it humorous and those that are taking it very very seriously. It's sad, of course. But I'm not one who believes in Royalty, so... I just shrug my shoulders. Does that make me an awful person? Well... thank you for the beautiful images.
No you not nuts. I find it very said that we won't see the likes of her again. She over saw of sorts a two sides Parliament...and had to keep in the middle which i feel it should be. I just feel the class, decorum and her dictation won't be seen again in any leader. Otherwise i don't get the whole Royal thing either.
Tundra Bunny here... QE2 was the best of a bad lot. Even though I'm Canadian, I'm no monarchist. Now we're stuck with a pompous parasite for a figurehead until all ten Provinces and 3 Territories can agree to rid ourselves of Charles III et. al.!
I do agree. I never cared for Charles. He's gonna be a real prick I have the feeling. When you have to have tantrums over pens....yeah. Where's his priorities? He only hopes to have a quarter of his mother's leadership style and dedication.
I prefer the pics that aren't of Her Maj, but they are preferable to ones of Chaz 3 and Fag Ash Lil. They promised us that FAL would NOT be queen, like all royal promises it was yet another empty one.
If my old bones would have withstood the queue I would have been there. She was above politics as are all our royals. We shall never see her like again. I applaud you, jon. Xx
Believe me, Christina, there were bones of all ages who made that long, long walk to pay tribute - from little nippers to great-grandparents. It was hard work, but ultimately cathartic. Jx
I wondered if you might be in the line. I looked for someone wearing rhinestones and a huge veiled black hat....but ...some many hats. She wasn't even my Queen and I feel very sad and melancholic still. I glad you got your wish to pay respects dear.
Love the flowers. That last picture is almost surealistic.
ReplyDeleteVery poignant mood board today.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure of your mood, but the board is nice.
ReplyDeleteCrazy mood. This week is going off the rails....it needs to settle down
DeleteNice that you also have pictures of the Parliament building (the one with Big Ben.) THAT aspect of the British government should never be forgotten.

DeleteIt is strange to think that her era is over. I honestly thought she was going to live another 6 years or so

DeleteOnce the Queen, always the Queen
ReplyDeleteSomber mood board. I get it.

ReplyDeleteDumbo and Mr Ed!!!!! I can't stand either of them. And they never appear happy and look like sour pusses
DeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely mood board for a very sad occasion - despite the insensitive acrimony of a few people here.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad I joined the queue and attended her lying-in-state. The end of an era, indeed. Jx
