ReplyDeleteHamer lost her job and continually risked her life because of her civil rights activism. What a shame there is not more known about her out there. This is why I find this post interesting.

ReplyDeleteI being black, am very embarrassed to say I heard the name, and sadly know hardly anything about her. My mother mentioned her name a couple of time and always used her quote of "“I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
