I have always loved the music of Brittany Howard who is known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter of the rock band, Alabama Shakes which I enjoyed since 2012. She and the band garnered many Grammy nominations along the way. It was in 2019 Brittany Howard struck out on her own and I was anxious to hear her solo album and tour, but thanks to the pandemic it was cancelled. It was two months ago on the fortieth anniversary special of Austin City Limits that she finally brough her long awaited solo show to us at last, complete with a crack band, and a setlist full of Jamie, her solo tunes and well-chosen covers album, and an eclectic new sound. It was rerun this weekend...what a delight.
And if your so inclined.... what a performance and voice.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was still in the US, I loved Alabama Shakes and have both their cds. Had no idea she struck out on her own. She has a more distinctive voice in a sea of bland artist.
