MOOD BOARD

And as you guessed, and most likely already knew, the Mistress doesn't do the New Year New You bullshit either, lol!!!! Mine is to not make any new year new you rules. Though, my mother wants me to cut back on cussing. That last for about 20 minutes into the new year. No Christmas Miracle here. Besides why play with and ruin a perfect minx I say. New Year's Eve was actually fun and good to get out with 6 friends for a change, for dinner and drinks, of course all we talked about, it seemed,  was the deeply sad news on the legendary Betty White's passing. I can't myself deny getting teary eyed when I had heard the news. She was one in a million and one actress who got me in the heart strings, much like last year when 2021 claimed Olivia De Haviland that July. I surmise we won't see the likes of such a fine lady in Hollywood again. But you may have also guessed the Mistress made it to around 2:45am and had to be unzipped and stripped and put to bed. Gin, Moscow mules, and champagne are not the best matches made in heaven to mix. But I did arise the next day by 10 and headed home with the Lad to prepare the families New Year Day dinner for the evening. I'm now enjoying the last two days off before the shop reopens. Excuse me now, I'm off to have a nice moist muffin, with no cherry.

  3. I think I fell in love with Betty White on Password. So sharp and funny. I had no idea that was the beginning of years of admiration. Well, if you can cut back on the cussing, so can I. Just kidding. That has a fucking firecracker’s chance in hell. (Sorry, mom.)

    1. Password was before my time I believe, Mary Tyler Moore was my first experience with Betty. And I told my mother I have no damn idea what in hell she is talking about.

    2. Oh, it was before my time. Yep. It was. I must have seen it in reruns. Yep. That’s it. It was reruns.

  4. I can't remember what a nice, moist muffin is, let alone one with a cherry. Betty White, what a treasure! I remember her on Password when I was a child. The original one. I was young, but, loved her chemistry with her husband Alan/Allen Ludden. I never watched the parades. So boring. Betty seemed to be beautiful inside and out. There's not enough of that these days.
I think that cat is suffering from a massive hangover. It's nice to have a buddy to get you through.

  7. RIP, an icon - we adored her!

Remember her immortal words of wisdom: "Sex is pretty funny, let's face it. And the more seriously we take ourselves, the funnier sex gets, I think."

  10. It's hard to watch the Golden Girls now knowing they are all passed on. They just played the show where they were caring for one of Sophia's friends, and they all promised to be there for each other till the end. And Betty White's Rose then asks, "What happens when there is one of us left?"

I started getting teary eyed. I really liked this mood board.

    1. Thanks, Kent, for stopping in and adding to the talk. She is a great role model for us all. I can say I don't think I have ever seen someone pass that just about everyone loved.

  13. A much better notion than making new year resolutions is taking some time about now to reflect on the past year what was good or not good about it and have that influence what you will do/not do this year in general. I plan this year to cut out as much useless time sucks as possible.

  14. Lovely and moving mood board today. Starting the New Year somber. I loved Betty in numerous shows, and yes, I do actually remember Betty and Loren hosting the Thanksgiving Parade. I'm old and remember that. And much like Lucille Ball, I don't think it occurred to anyone just how glamorous Betty was when she was young.

    1. Years ago, when I did a post on her, I was shocked to see she had had brunette hair at one time.

  15. I still adore her on the Mary Tyler Moore show. Knew nothing about her, and assumed that was her personality. I loved Sue And Nivens. Kizzes.

Mistress, you could be many in Valley of the Dolls, but yes, Helen Lawson first.

  26. I saw the CNN report like 33 mins. after the report. So damn sad. It was as if 2021 was flipping us all off one last time. That's a wonderful tribute to her.

I don't do the New Year bs either. Don't see the point when I know I'm never going to keep to any of it, anyway. Hugs!!!
