POLITICKLES

And this was from the 60's and 70's. And sadly, these jokes, skits and points still land.

  1. When did we stop having this much fun?

And funny... or is it sad how many of these joke punchlines STILL stick?????

  2. My Rare One and I were talking about "Laugh In" just a couple of days ago and its "Fickle Finger of Fate" award, LOL!

  3. It's so strange that their section about news from more than twenty years into the future was really so accurate. A good guess or what? Or are we just stupid to keep re-electing the same old and not learning from mistakes?

  4. The credibility issue in the news?!?!?!? LMAO!!!!! Did they have a crystal ball back then on the shows? Here we still are...same shitty issues....

  5. Oh and look, congress still ignores the wishes of millions and millions of Americans and still has yet pass any gun control laws. The show was brillant.

  6. HA HA HA HA HA!!!! See, why watch the news. In all these years it's the same news and issues. The clip did have me laughing though. I catch the reruns some nights on some station here in town. Me Tv?

  8. You have no idea how popular that show was, that and the Smother's Brothers Show, which CBS cancelled because it attacked Conservatives so often.

  9. Yup, the more things change, the more they stay the same! Not long ago, I watched "All In The Family" episodes from the early '70s and laughed til the tears rolled down my face! Sadly, though, we're still hearing the same arguments about gun control, etc. in 2022 that Archie Bunker made 50 years ago...

    1. One of my favorite shows to watch. I too often have tears from laughter. That and Maude. The US could never do the show now. People lost their sense of humor, and everything taken so serious now.

  11. We haven’t come very far, have we! And those 1988-89 “predictions” were frighteningly accurate.

  12. I loved the Laugh-in which I first saw as a teenager living in West Vancouver where Joni Mitchell used to live.

  13. As the day, the more things change, the more they stay the same. And the Congress lines aren’t even jokes at this point, though Congress is.

  14. OMG too funny.
Love Lili Tomlin and Goldie. And yes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. America has, deep down, changed very little since then. Which is worrying and kind of sad.

    XOXO

    1. When I came across it, I was laughing so hard, and then it hit me, wait...these jokes were years ago, and sadly fits the bill...still. Then I wasn't laughing.
