One of my latest songs to be obsessed with lately. Anabel Englund's Midnight Rapture. A song I wouldn't mind doing in drag. Anabel Englund is a singer, songwriter record producer and a dj from Southern California and best known for her collaborative work with electronic and house music artist. I love this song...it depicts a late-night rendezvous edging toward euphoria set to a sensuous dancefloor beat alongside the bells and guitar riffs taken from the Blondie original. You know this song gets me dancing, and us nocturnal creatures need to stick together.
I’d love to see you perform this.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this song! And Anabel had got some great style. Makes us miss dancing.
ReplyDeleteThis gets me moving. Now Im going to have the song and those bells in my head all day now.
ReplyDeleteI adore your taste in music. I feel as if I've fallen out of step. When did this come out? Life in the bat cave... I need to make more of an effort. OR... you could just keep me informed, since you seem to have your fingers on the pulse of new dancefloor faves. Thanks for sharing. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThis song came out in November, early December of 2021.I always try to stay up with my dance and house music.
DeleteIt has been too long since I have been out dancing
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I'm more into alternative rock
ReplyDeleteThis stuff gives me seizures! Not the good kind!
ReplyDeleteHey seizures are good as long as it keeps you moving! hahahahahahaha
DeleteThats what BH said. Of course, he was somewhat horny at the time. TMI?
DeleteAny exercise is good exercise.
DeleteLMAO!!!! I agree with Norma Deedles. Sex is a good exercise!!!!
DeleteNo seizure here Deedles...but did get me moving....and a palpitation or two.
DeleteYou go on with yo bad self, Ms Agnes! You're more hep to the jive than I'll ever be. Of course, I was born 40 years old. That puts me at almost 106. You're aging backwards. *Sigh*.
DeleteI surmise Agnes may be like Benjamin Buttons.
DeleteHah Deedles; I'm older than y'all!
DeleteOnly chronologically, Helen. Speaking for myself, of course.
DeleteAs you know I love and perform classical music, but I absolutely love house and dance music also. So complete opposite. Love this songs beats & music, it's a banger.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely obsessed with this song. Can you say, "loop?" Yes, please!
ReplyDeleteI haven't felt the rapture for decades. I detected a little Madonna-esk.
ReplyDeleteShe’s got that Cloris Lechman vibes (after all, Annabel is her granddaughter)
ReplyDeleteExcellent song and style.
Now that is a great tidbit. I had no idea she was Clois Leachman's granddaughter.
DeleteNever heard of her. But I like her tattoos.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
I prefer Blondie, but nevertheless, Maddie, I'd love to see you do this in drag. If I didn't think I'd end up looking like Tony Curtis or Jack Lemmon, I'd even be one of your backup dancers.
ReplyDeleteYet again you bring new music and artist to me. This gives me life. If only I was years younger to tear this up! I also see from above she is Cloris Leachmens granddaughter! I see some resemblance
ReplyDeleteI saw the title of this piece and misread it as Annabel's England. Ho, ho! Thinks I, the Mistress must have deep pockets to be dancing at Annabel's.
