GOOD EARTH

Earth Day is annually observed on April 22 to promote awareness about the environmental issues and urge people to embrace nature. This year marks the 51st anniversary of the celebration. The day was founded in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, a senator from Wisconsin. Our planet is an amazing place... but it needs our help to thrive. Having been through the pandemic when things shut down, we saw first hand how quickly the planet started healing,  and nature started taking back over. It was the healthiest it's been in ages. So I say go outdoors today, and enjoy it's wonders. I took a nice long jog up at the lake early this morning, where I got this great capture of a heron. The lake was bustling with activity. I thought for today I'd share some of earths greatest and small gifts for me...flowers. Close ups I took of my current assortment.

"Love the earth as you would yourself"-John Denver

" The earth is what we all have in common"-Wendell Berry

"Try to leave the earth a better place then when you arrived"-Sidney Sheldon

"What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."-Jane Goodall

"The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth"-unknown

"A society is defined not only by what it creates, but by what it refuses to destroy"-John Sawhill

"Keep the earth clean. It's not Uranus."-unknown

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you"-Frank Lloyd Wright

"A walk in nature, walks the soul back home."-Mary Davis

"Nature itself is the best physician."-Hippocrates

"The good man is the friend of all living things."-Mahatma Ghandi

"Men, the most absurd of God's creatures. Mother Earth gives you life...and can take it away just as easily."-Poison Ivy

"Flowers are like Mother Nature's smiles"-unknown

This polished Love rock was a gift sent to me from our dear Debs...and it reminded me this morning it was Earth Day, and it says it all...we must LOVE the earth and take care of her.

Happy Earth Day πŸŒΌπŸŒ³πŸ¦‹

  2. If we don't take care of Mother Earth we're only killing ourselves. The planet will survive, albeit in a different form and without us.

  4. Such heartwarming pictures! So creative. Flowers certainly are one of Mother's Natures gifts. If we all did the 3Rs = REDUCE + REUSE + RECYCLE, it alone would make this Earth a better place.

People who have no love and disregard for the earth and animals are not worth my time and are discounted in my book.

  10. Love these pictures. Sometimes I get stressed and I think that we live in such a tiny world, what do I want to send out? Not stress, so I try to change my attitude and ways.

  12. Happy Earth Day! Here's another quotation, although I don't know who first wrote it -- "The earth laughs in flowers." Beautiful photos and glad to see the "Love" stone featured in the last one!

  16. We need to protect Mother Earth for generations to come. It’s interesting that a Wisconsin senator started earth day. A state virtually controlled by the GQP, the party that doesn’t give a crap about nature.

Love the photos and the idea. It always blows my mind that people are not aware that we need to take care of Mother Earth. We only have got one!

  22. It's almost a shame the pandemic has to end. I liked not seeing people anywhere. And the nature result was inspiring. But now I guess we can return to tearing the earth to shreds again.
