Earth Day is annually observed on April 22 to promote awareness about the environmental issues and urge people to embrace nature. This year marks the 51st anniversary of the celebration. The day was founded in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, a senator from Wisconsin. Our planet is an amazing place... but it needs our help to thrive. Having been through the pandemic when things shut down, we saw first hand how quickly the planet started healing, and nature started taking back over. It was the healthiest it's been in ages. So I say go outdoors today, and enjoy it's wonders. I took a nice long jog up at the lake early this morning, where I got this great capture of a heron. The lake was bustling with activity. I thought for today I'd share some of earths greatest and small gifts for me...flowers. Close ups I took of my current assortment.

Happy Earth Day! Beautiful flowers, but that heron shot takes the cake - well done, Mistress!
ReplyDeleteIf we don't take care of Mother Earth we're only killing ourselves. The planet will survive, albeit in a different form and without us.
ReplyDeleteYou always know how to grab attention with a message. Stunning photos.
ReplyDeleteSuch heartwarming pictures! So creative. Flowers certainly are one of Mother's Natures gifts. If we all did the 3Rs = REDUCE + REUSE + RECYCLE, it alone would make this Earth a better place.
ReplyDeletePeople who have no love and disregard for the earth and animals are not worth my time and are discounted in my book.
All pretty pictures but that
ReplyDeleteheron! What a majestic bird!
xoxo :-)
So, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing these photos! Happy Earth Day! π
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeletea lovely post, the flower blooms. do you have the houseboys planting outdoors mistress?
ReplyDeletethe heron, such a beautiful graceful bird.
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures. Sometimes I get stressed and I think that we live in such a tiny world, what do I want to send out? Not stress, so I try to change my attitude and ways.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Happy Earth Day! You capture good pictures Mistress.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day! Here's another quotation, although I don't know who first wrote it -- "The earth laughs in flowers." Beautiful photos and glad to see the "Love" stone featured in the last one!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post!! Also so very true. Thank you for sharing the perfect post and your pictures. The flowers look so cool up close like that...almost alien like. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe eclectic end photo is lovely
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day. Thanks for celebrating.
ReplyDeleteWe need to protect Mother Earth for generations to come. It’s interesting that a Wisconsin senator started earth day. A state virtually controlled by the GQP, the party that doesn’t give a crap about nature.
ReplyDeleteI see, someone's been picking my flowers again.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Amazing pictures! The details!
ReplyDeletewhat great tribute you made for Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos to go with the quotes.
ReplyDeleteLoves it!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and the idea. It always blows my mind that people are not aware that we need to take care of Mother Earth. We only have got one!
XOXO
Wonderful post!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost a shame the pandemic has to end. I liked not seeing people anywhere. And the nature result was inspiring. But now I guess we can return to tearing the earth to shreds again.
ReplyDeletethank you for spinning around it with me.
ReplyDeleteBe careful: Your artistry is showing again.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
