DAYS AWAY

The election is now!

In 15th century Tuscany a very small percentage of the population had the right to vote. Perhaps this familiar looking and famous Gorgon from those times will remind gentle citizens who won't vote or haven't votes yet, to go vote. This fragment of an architectural freeze in terracotta was created as the Black Death plaque was still affecting Europe, having ironically started in Pisa in 1348, and spreading throughout Tuscany, becoming the fastest and deadliest pandemic in recorded history. Earlier in the century the Florentine people feared the loss of liberty and respect for people that was the pride of their republic. The Duke of Milan threatened all that but caught the plaque and died in 1402. Subsequently, the King of Naples tried again to strip the citizens of their rights, but he to died.  Fate, karma and Destiny work sometimes.....but isn't voting in 2020 the perfect recipe for preserving individual liberties today????

VOTE! If you just received your ballot, they must be hand delivered to your drop box or elections office.

  4. Vote Blue. There is no longer a Republican Party, it is now the party of the Idiot Jerk, and with him gone... it will fall to pieces.

  7. This election is like Xmas and Halloween all at once... I can't wait to find out what we got... but am terrified at the same time. Quite frankly, anyone who still thinks the orange ogre is fit for office is a total stooge in my book. I listen to NBC interview people who are voting for him and am gobsmacked. Oh, well... as long as there are more of us than them? Sad that we have to think of our society in those terms... but when you have a azzhat ruining everything? Whatta you expect? Kizzes.

    1. I haven't made up my mind weather to watch returns in private...or at the Democratic headquaters where I was invited. I am so anxiety riddled at the moment...... Most likely home...for if we lose i will go to bed and stay there for some time.......

  8. Such a perfect comparison here. Voting during a deadly pandemic to preserve our free society is crucial. Unless we want to end up like Russia - or worse - we must vote.
I hear many people say they won't vote because their vote doesn't matter. I tell them (if I can): "Think about your LOCAL portion of these elections. They impact your life on a daily basis. Stop being stupid!"

    Is that too harsh? 😜

    2. Me, too. I tell Chris Hayes and Don Lemon I wish I could share their sense of hope and optimism. (As I said to the wife, "They can hear me when I talk at the TV. You know that, right?")

  12. I really cannot believe there's still people who are 'undecided'. But I do believe people will vote for IMPOTUS because their racism, xenophobia and selfishness knows no limit. That they vote for an incompetent, petulant, corrupt used cars salesman says all we need to know about them.
I'm aso gobsmacked that PA is not counting early votes and that it's going to start late. Gosh. I need to know Cheeto will GO and that the Repugs that enabled him will go with him.

    XOXO

  13. I still say that he and the member of his family and staff fake having covid. It was all done so he could down play the seriousness of the pandemic. "Oh look I had it and my family and we recovered in days...no big deal"

    1. I thought the same. No way could they have recovered that quick. This whole administration is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

  18. Excellent and ironic comparison!!! The anticipation of the USA electoral result is actually for me more stressful then the COVID19. Research and scientist will resolve the latter, but nothing will help us or the world if that crazed idiot gets another term. It STILLS blows my mind how anyone can vote and support him!?!?!?!?! Do they NOT see the country??????? The climate of things and disregard has never been this bad in all my years living. It was not like this before trump.
