A short sweet post while I get the houseboys on best behavior for the Mother. Before she arrived , on Monday I had a lovely stroll along the canal. The trees are really starting to get some color, and it was that brisk feel many here enjoy in the fall.
And would you look at the size of this leaf!!!!!!!!!!
I also picked up two pumpkins. But it was overwhelming trying to find
the perfect two.....
I love all the hues.
I can see why you were overwhelmed choosing just Two, I haven't even bought a Real Pumpkin yet, the choices being endless and this Year Princess T really doesn't Care, so mebbe it's not necessary? I Photographed them all... that satiated my Desires for Pumpkin this Season. *winks* What a Glorious View you have for a Walk and I would have Kept that enormous Leaf for my Naturalist Jar, if it would even have fit, perhaps frame it if it wouldn't. Mother Nature sure knows how to show out and show off doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteOh frame it!!!!!! That is a great idea!!!!! I about another week, we will be at the peak of the foliage and it will be jaw dropping. When I saw all those pumpkins, my mind went right to you.....
Deletedidn't know pumpkins came in more colors than just orange!
ReplyDeleteYes...but I didn't know if I liked best the traditional orange, the pretty whites ones or some avocado pumpkin squash. I settled on three mini pumpkins for my window sill.
DeleteYou live in such a picturesque town!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, except for the pumpkin orgy. *SHUDDER*. Is that leaf big enough to cover the territory if you wanted to dress (or undress) as Adam?
ReplyDeleteI do believe that should hide the goods. I was waiting for the comment and guessed it might be from you Duchess Deedles...you never disappoint me.
DeleteLove the colors! I think the idea of pumpkins is super cool. I have no talent for carving them, but I love seeing what people do with them.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a HUGE leaf. Huge.
XOXO
I ended up with three mini pumpkins for the windows still. I don't think I'll crave one this year.
DeleteWhat a lovely place you live, dear. No wonder you have such a beautiful soul.
ReplyDeleteYou may be right...this area is good for my soul and helps to maintain my sanity, I swear.
DeleteWhat a wonderful Fall collection!
ReplyDeletexoxo :-)
Your tree looks like it has more leaves then ours, sure is pretty.Oh yes and lot of pumpkins
ReplyDeleteYep...I about another week the color will be at the peak....stunning...and then the leaves will come down fast and furious.
DeleteThat house along the canal is STUNNING!!!!!! I could live in that. I hear the walk along the canal is a lovely walk.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you ever featured the canal before...it's gorgeous and looks very northeast, loving the foliage. And I want to live in that house...love the blue.
ReplyDeleteIt's a different colour and the wrong shape, but that house reminds me of The Maitland's house in Beetlejuice! And also, of Jane's and Alex's houses in The Witches of Eastwick (I think it's the proximity to the water?).
ReplyDeleteThat leaf is like a parasol. Just right for nature-loving lady such as yourself!
Your right, I do get a Witches of Eastwick vibe! Maybe it can be your weekend place in the US.And the leaf did keep me dry.
DeleteOh I've just typed a long comment and its disappeared!
ReplyDeleteShort version.....love the canal and the pumpkins are fabulous!
Your comments must make my blog hungry!
DeleteAny idea what kind of tree that leaf comes from? I also love all the hues of the pumpkins and gourds. Beautiful photos. Have a great time with the mother!
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a huge maple leaf...really huge.
DeleteDo the houseboys have a different uniform when mom visits?
ReplyDeleteYes...they add a leaf in the back of them too.
DeleteIt is beautiful. It's that chill in the air that isn't. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in Paul!!!!! Yes. Nothing like a sunny autumn day with a slight crisp chill. It's been a
DeleteSo idyllic.
ReplyDeleteI need ... NEED ... that blue house.
You were the whole reason I snapped that picture...I had the feeling you'd love it.
DeleteThe colours are magnificent, but I still hate autumn. Our clocks go back this weekend, and that's the end of "British Summer Time" (and any evening daylight) till March... Jx
ReplyDeleteYet another reason to drink!!!!! I agree...in a week the trees and bushes will be in all there splendor... And then the leaves will fall. Then it will be as you say....the Season of Decay.
ReplyDeleteThat leaf is big enough to cover a multitude of sins!
