NO JUSTICE NO PEACE

Philadelphia represented!!!!!
I attended the George Floyd March in Philly...it was very stirring, Happy, sad, angry and magical all at once is the only way to describe it. Two friends of mine invited me to come down, and felt I wanted to. Although, I hung back from the major march on the street because not everyone was wearing mask, so I hung back to the sidelines. My measley video.

It was nice. Every race, sex, age, and lifestyle joined in,We've all seen by now the sensational news parts that the reporters show, whether it was the looting or just being overly  confrontational and trying to escalate the protests, But we all know that news is a business which purports to tell us what's going on, yet racks up their ratings only showing the sensational parts. But I'll bet most of the protests were like this one. And I feel it's sensational enough that this many folks want to end rampant police brutality, and have equal rights for all, that they're hitting the streets to get it and done peacfully. Sure bad things happen during these riots, like stealing and looting, but that shouldn't be the headline, the cause should be, and Philly did good. What a difference from the destruction last weekend in Philly, and in other good news,  the Mike Rizzo statue of the past bigoited mayor has been removed!!!!!  We followed along the march route from the Art Museum to City Hall. This guy was kind enough to let me take and share his picture. Love his message.

Just to show you the size of the crowd and how many cared.  This was shared to me by Mac and Meeka. Thanks guys!

  1. I wondered if you may be down in the masses. I think that crowd even far outnumbered last year 50th Stonewall Pride Festivities. I and another member of the orchestra played our cello and violin on a corner for all the protestors passing by in memory all lives lost. It was a good day.

  4. WOW! That is quite amazing and very moving to see all people coming together. Let's hope it last and it sinks in this time.

As I said before you have our condolences from New Zealand on the lack of leadership, or for that matter, a lack of a leader at all.

  6. Gods love you Mistress. We saw some of the coverage and were blown away by the number of people that attended. WOW! We also par took of a lunch out for the first time at a outdoor café, but we ended up asking for it to go. Way to many people coming in and no mask wearing. Very disappointing. Needless to say we won't be patronizing them anymore if they can't be responsible.

  9. Great post and words! That guy with the sign gave me a laugh with that. My kind of guy and nice legs! It was so important to be apart of. We drove up to San Fran for the march there, for the walk over the Golden Gate. Could have almost brought tears. Time to get the message out, we aren't taking this unequal rights anymore or the treatment of our fellow people. Time to end this period.

  11. I myself made the fatal error of believing these were riots and only riots, to the point where I said to someone, why are they burning their own neighborhoods down? I'm ashamed I said it and should have known better. So often these start out as peaceful demonstrations and only turn into riots when the police show up. Really, has there ever been a riot that can't be traced back to the police? Look at Stonewall.

    1. There are two types in these riots. The ones who are honest and peacefully seeking change and the opportunist. But I'm sure some of the was also done just because of pure hurt and angry, for being ignored and walked over constantly.

It's that old African proverb saying."This is what happens when the child who is not embraced by the village. They will burn it down to feel it's warmth." People can only take so much pain and hurt.

  12. That is amazing. Glad Philly got it right. And love Mr. Big Booty's poster. Proud of you for going out and participating, too. It's important. This is the time for this finally. It is sad that it takes someone's life to wake us all up... but we woke now. And we are speaking now. I applaud you, my dear.

    1. If we don't get change soon on many levels, this country will be done. And another four years if he is elected, the country will be history. It will then be a revolution, mark my words.

  17. Yes, there were a LOT of people in Philly protesting yesterday and I was thrilled to see it online. I'm also glad you stayed a safe distance. I fear there's going to be a spike in COVID-19 cases in a few weeks due to all of these protests. Stay safe.

    1. Between protests and re-openings….we better grid out loins. Spikes are already going higher then they were originally in the first round.

  19. Powerful protests all over Europe, too. Can’t believe this is necessary in 2020 but so proud of those making their voices heard.
