SEASIDE

Yes yes, I know what your thinking. "Mistress, haven't you had enough summer already?" And my answer is no, no I haven't. Summer is by far my favorite season, while I can find beauty in each season, I just feel more alive in the spring /summer months. This weekend was so beautiful and warm,, and we still have Indian Summer to enjoy yet.... I decided to head to Rehoboth one more time while it was still nice.  After such a grueling, hard, long and tiring work week, did I mention I had to work the whole week,  I decided I needed to decompress, and the only place to do that is a full day at the spa, which I had no appointment, or a day at the beach. So off I and my personal assistant Buster Bolfig Borghese went, with a packed lunch and drinks and beach stuff. It was well worth the drive. Being off season now the crowds have thinned and the parking is a breeze. It was heaven, and Buster seemed to enjoy the beach.

Buster investigating a horseshoe crab carcass.

CARINAGE!

I really like this shot.

After some frolic, flirting and exploring, we had a nice two hour nap...heavenly!

And then the sun started to set, and what a spectacular calm color the sky became.

It sure was a great day, just what the soul needed.

    1. There were plenty of people there on the beach, but I was on the private beach next to poodle beach. Dogs are only allowed on the private part. So we had room to spread and lounge. It was wonderful.

  3. Mistress, you sure got some beautiful pictures! That evening sky is truly amazing...the colors. William and I took our two dogs to the beach once, they were no where near behaved as Buster. Mine didn't even like the sand. He sure does look like he enjoyed it. He is too darn cute.

  4. I need to be more like you and be impromptu and just take off. With me everything is planned. Sometimes spur of the moment turns into the best and most relaxing of times. Looks like a great day.

  5. Same! Spring and summer are my go-to seasons. I'm too darn tropical for this Midwestern cold. And I'm extra jelly that you got to go to the beach one more time! Doggie is adorbs, btw.

    1. I hear you, I like all the seasons, beauty in each of them, but I so enjoy open windows, hot summer weather, beach, warm starry nights... almost being naked....

  8. This just looks so calm and peaceful. I miss being able to go to the beach. It's always nice to see Buster. My little Bella has been in the cone of shame for over a week now. She had a lumpectomy and sixteen teeth removed, poor baby. She gets the stitches and cone removed Friday, and we are off camping! Yay! Anyway, lovely pictures :)

    1. By the way, I love the picture of the ocean from your reclining perspective 😉. Don’t tell Sixpence Notthewiser I said that, though. I’ll totally deny it. 😁

  12. Well, I do declare, that's what this body and soul needs, too. I should've liked to gone along. Though, I dare say, I would've dared to go bare - at least for a short while; just so see if anyone complained. :-)
    Hugs!

  13. There's no such thing as too much summer. Enjoy it while you can. Even though it's officially autumn, the weather here in TN still feels like summer.
