YES!!!!! It's that time of year again!!! My guilty pleasure of Shamrock Shakes!
Longtime readers have known that I go completely bonkers over these minty green shakes. The minute they come out....it's over. I overdose. I have already indulged. If I keep this up, I will be removed and rolled from the premise much like Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka, because of my size, or my color...of green instead of purple. I have no idea what it is about them I love so much, but who cares. This was Monday...
Yes...I have no wheel power or shame and got four yesterday, and squirreled three away in the freezer. But I know by Friday they will be gone, and I will get more. So...you know I have at least four, well... make that three, because I'm enjoying one now...any guess how many I had already since they came out??? If you guess right, I'll take you out for the night and bring everything you see above...and everything you don't!
Do you enjoy them? And who remembers when McDonalds used to have fun commercials and a whole land of characters?
I spike my Shamrock shakes with crème de menthe, so refreshing.
ReplyDelete-sidenote: Sid and Marty Krofft, of HR Huff 'n Puff fame, had proposed the characters for McDonalds.
McDonalds declined and went behind the backs of the brothers Krofft and stole the characters the Krofft's had created. The Krofft's sued and won a hefty settlement. :-)
Crème de menthe?!? I like the way you think!!! And that is quite the tidbit about the McDonald's characters I didn't know. That would explain why I get the same feeling as Krofft creations..
DeleteI'm sorry, um, like did you say something?
ReplyDelete* eyes wandering down, down , down.......*
I suppose you want some creme with that?
DeleteLOVE THOSE SHAKES! It's the only time I go to Micky D's.
ReplyDeleteNow what can I find to stir my shake with......
Let's together and rub our shakes together!!!!!!!!
DeleteWOW WEE! i never saw the scale wheel rebound and go around twice.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days...one of these days...POW!!! Right to the moon!
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteAccording to Wikipedia, McD's introduced the Shamrock shake in 1970 (the year you were born?!), but when I worked there in high school (1978/79), it was just a green coloured vanilla shake. An edible oil product -- yuck! And Ronald McDonald had lots of friends back then like the Hamburgler, Grimace and Mayor McCheese...
Worked there?!? I worked at Hardees for two weeks before telling this lady to go blow ...and quit. And that's putting it nicely. I used to love all those characters. If I recall...I also had drinking collectible glasses with the various characters on them. Of course Grimace was my favorite. He was my favorite color.
DeleteSorry to say I have never indulged in the Shamrock Shake, but that first photo makes me want to indulge in something else ... just sayin'!
ReplyDeletePS There has to be a Shamrock Shake Anonymous meeting somewhere!
Sign him up STAT!
DeleteI like these shakes too, but I'd never have your figure after drinking so many. I say you had 8 alreadies.
ReplyDeleteBitch.
Close! 👆👆👆 Higher...
DeleteI still keep the St. Patrick's tradition with one, and a Filet O Fish sandwich! And my my my...what a advertisement for the Shake indeed.
ReplyDeleteGawd, I haven't had a Shamrock Shake since Christ was a boy. I wonder if McDonald's here in Canada bring them back every year for St Pat's? I will make a field trip tomorrow and find out. If they do, I'll get a small one just for old time's sake.
ReplyDeleteA small one you suffice....unless your a gluttonous shamrocky like me.
DeleteDear Maddie...naughty boy... I've never seen anything like it! Looks like a cup of gorilla snot to me.Or have they taken to milking leprechauns in the back room now?
ReplyDeleteI have never, ever seen one of the green shakes. We are very conservative here in Lancashire. Vanilla, Chocolate or Strawberry are the choices. I havent had one for years. I may have to partake now you've reminded me! They can't possibly be good for us........
ReplyDeleteIm not sure the UK have them. They may be just in the US, Canada and Ireland. If you like mint chip ice cream you'd probably like them.
DeleteI think I should hang out with you on St Patrick's. Looks more interesting and fun!!! And shakes could come in handy. And yes, I love them too.
ReplyDeleteI remember McDonald’s when there was no interior for customers. You ordered standing at a window outside. Then one day there were outdoor tables and benches. There were no funny characters except Ronald. I have never had a shamrock shake.
ReplyDeleteWhat shake?
ReplyDeleteOh, THAT shake. Sorry, babes. Got distracted....
XOXO
It all that green I guess.
DeleteHuntleyBiGuy:
ReplyDeleteAfter the first picture all I heard was “blah, blah, blah.”
You can come clean up the dips.
DeleteIt is a good thing it is short shake season, or dad-bod here you come.
ReplyDeleteThe Lad already calls me Daddy in bed.
DeleteAll that fast food's gonna go to your waist, you know that, don't you?
ReplyDeleteIf you saw how much he eats and enjoys....he should be over 300lbs!!!! He must have a good metalbolism....still.
DeleteMM#1F is correct Dave. I seem to be one of those people that never gains weight. Granted I mostly eat healthy....I like my sweets and unhealthy things too. But neither of my parents were large...both on the slim side. And last a weighed I lost weight!!!???
DeleteIt's got to be at least one per day since they returned. I'm gonna say 12. Did you have one in that first photo? I must have missed that. Maybe I should go take a closer look....
ReplyDeleteAnd why you come back for another look take a great big gulp! Actually you're right on target with 12! Pat's the winner!!!!!
DeleteYeeeeay! I win!! Now, let me go back and take another look at that...um, shake. That's right, the shake... 🤣
DeleteIm your clay....take it and mold it!!!!!
DeleteSo what is in them apart from stewed shamrock? Cabbage? Grass? Green algae or crushed malachite? The mind bogles (sic).
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a green flavored mint syrup with vanilla ice cream.
DeleteI think I liked them. It's been a long time.
ReplyDeleteThose commercials were basically a Golden Arches knockoff of Pufnstuf. I'm JUST old enough that I can remember commercials with Ronald McDonald but with no other characters and no special land where he lived. Instead there was a giant hamburger that he flew through the skies.
Nope...those I don't remember....but I do recall the Grimace, Mayor McCheese and the Fry Guys....oh and the Hamburger.
DeleteI absolutely too love Shamrock shakes. And they look like something Poison Ivy would enjoy...so they are perfect for you.
ReplyDeleteI've never had one, but I'll start drinking them if they'll make me look like you in that pic above!
ReplyDeleteI do like chocolate chip mint ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to taste your shamrock Shake!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about gaining weight. If you weighed 175, we all know where the 75 is!
ReplyDelete#1 love the package!
