Joan Crawford's nemesis; about whom she said: “She sleeps with the boss. Who can compete with that? I don’t get it. She’s cross-eyed, knock-kneed, and she can’t act worth a damn. What does he see in her?”
Maybe Norma didn't heed Joan's other advice. "I think that the most important thing a woman can have - next to talent, of course - is her hairdresser."
Been in one! I did a Italian Courtesan one year for a Halloween Party. It was the biggest and most lush ensemble to date I wore, and probably the biggest hair too.
The Galerie des Glaces is much, much smaller than I imagined it to be. It does not look big enough to hold the court of the kings of France, especially the court of that big head, Louis XIV.
Ooh, what a gorgeous poodle!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I always wanted to wear the outfit of the man Norman is with. And I'd still get to wear a wig!!!!
DeleteOh, Norma Shearer!

Looks like she's rehearsing for the guillotine.

DeleteI want to see what formal looks like!
ReplyDeleteAnd you’ve never looked more lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, "Louella Parsons". Jx
DeleteWe'll have to see what Hedda Hopper has to say.
DeleteNow THAT'S a gown fit for a Queen!
ReplyDeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteThat billowy white confection of a gown suits you to a T, Mistress Maddie!
It will also hide a multitude of Shamrock Shake sins, Tundra. Win-win.
DeleteTundra Bunny again...
DeleteAHAHAHAHA! Good one, Duchess!
I hear he is up to 13 shake now.
DeleteHuh, well...you guys might be right. The undies are getting tighter.....
DeleteMads, I read your previous post. I don't think it's the shakes that are tightening those undies.
DeleteThat's what I always like about you, you always keep it understated.
ReplyDeleteBut how many guys are under the dress?
ReplyDeleteThe Galerie des Glaces is much, much smaller than I imagined it to be. It does not look big enough to hold the court of the kings of France, especially the court of that big head, Louis XIV.
ReplyDeleteWill they let us eat cake, too?
ReplyDeleteJust the frock to get all the dusting done in. Just sashay around the house and the dusting's done!
ReplyDeletePoor Marie Antoinette!
