MY SHAMROCK SHAKE

As I said yesterday on the Mood Board, I'm not full Irish, but only a quarter Irish so that must count for something right? Tonight...time for my corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight!! It will slow cook while Im at work, and I have two friends coming in for dinner tonight. But a long-time reader here will tell you, that the Mistress LOVES Shamrock Shakes!!!! Alas this year I 've only enjoyed one, but rest assure I'll have another one today at some point! I present my Shamrock Shake!

And if we are not warmed up yet , my dear gin blossom friend across the pond Jon, reminded me it's the perfect time and day for the lovely Gardiner Brothers and their painted on black jeans!

ST. PATRICKS TRADITIONS

There are just some St Patrick's Traditions I just have to enjoy every year.  In addition to one of my favorite movies, Finian's Rainbow and listening to some Irish folk music, there is my Corned Beef and cabbage and potatoes dinner, and....

 the Talented Gardiner Brothers...

And for those wondering from Cali Boi's comment on how many Shamrock Shakes I've enjoyed this year...it was a shocking 4! With exception to the two tonight, which I may double fist! Regular readers will tell you I enjoy my shamrock shakes while wearing my greens!

YES!!!!! It's that time of year again!!! My guilty pleasure of Shamrock Shakes!

 Longtime readers have known that I go completely bonkers over these minty green shakes. The minute they come out....it's over. I overdose. I have already indulged. If I keep this up, I will be removed and rolled from the premise much like Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka, because of my size, or my color...of green instead of purple. I have no idea what it is about them I love so much, but who cares. This was Monday...

Yes...I have no wheel power or shame and got four yesterday, and squirreled three away in the freezer. But I know by Friday they will be gone, and I will get more. So...you know I have at least four, well... make that three, because I'm enjoying one now...any guess how many I had already since they came out??? If you guess right, I'll take you out for the night and bring everything you see above...and everything you don't!

Do you enjoy them? And who remembers when McDonalds used to have fun commercials and a whole land of characters?

I do love me a Shamrock Shake and many know I'm obsessed with these things. I have had 12 of them since they arrived! I hope everybody enjoys their St Patrick's Day. I heading out later  tonight to meet a good friend for her birthday and she wanted to have it at the Raven Resort here in New Hope...who was I to decline....maybe I'll even find a pot o gold.

LUCK OF THE IRISH

I don't mind this Monday!!!! I feel lucky today!!! So kiss me, I'm Irish!!!

Ok. maybe a part of me is Irish. The other two parts are Czech and Dutch so take your pick!!!! I have always enjoyed St.Patrick's Day, and contrary to popular belief it's not because of the libation consumption!!! I have no idea why, but it has always put me in a good mood.

On St Patrick's Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories ,the "wearing of the green". St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. The color green has been associated with Ireland since at least the 1640s, when the green harp flag was used by the Irish Catholic Confederation. Green ribbons and shamrocks have been worn on St Patrick's Day since at least the 1680s. Today, my major decision will be which too wear for fun........

It always tickles me to think if people wonder if I'm wearing any green!!! Will you be wearing any green or shamrocks? After work I have two friends coming over for a few libations and a corned beef and cabbage dinner. I love my holiday foods traditions!!!! In the United States and Canada, consumption of corned beef is often associated with Saint Patrick's Day. Corned beef is not considered an Irish national dish, and the connection with Saint Patrick's Day specifically originates as part of Irish-American culture, and is often part of their celebrations in North America. But if you all know me, the only St.Patrick's tradition and happy I need is my over dose on the minty goodness of that oh so sweet weakness of mine.........

yes friends, I have a good overdose of these delicious things till there gone!!! I really wish they were here for one day only. Good thing I have a couple suitors to help work them off.

St.Patrick's Greetings

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you all!

Any plans for any of you today? St. Patrick's Day, although not a legal holiday anywhere in the United States, is nonetheless  recognised and celebrated throughout the country. It is primarily observed as a celebration of Irish and Irish American culture; celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, feasting, copious consumption of alcohol, religious observances, and numerous parades. The holiday has been celebrated on the North American continent since the late eighteenth century. I have always loved this holiday, it makes me feel happy and it isn't because of the libations!I have never had green beer, my stomach curls at the thought of it, but I usually do cook a Corned Beef dinner. But not this year.The notion that a traditional Saint Patrick’s Day feast requires green beer and corned beef is dismissed. Later today, the Lad and my neighbor will be dropping in for a Saint Patrick's luncheon, instead of us venturing into the crowded bar and pub scene. And besides, I had quite enough libation Friday night in Asbury Park at the art show, and then ensuing night of debauchery of lounge hopping. But all is well as yesterday was my very relaxing spa day the hotel offers. To me I really think Saint Patrick's Day is more about food than drink. As green is the prevailing color on St. Patrick’s Day, I have menu where this color and white are used exclusively. For my luncheon I'm making Escalloped Potatoes, Whitefish Turbot,Cold Slaw and Fruit Glacé a là St. Patrick, with whipped cream.

 But of course you damn well know, if you know me, there will be one of these.......

yes!!!! The Shamrock Shake!!!! The Lad brought this over. Every year I overdose on these things, these lovely green,minty, creamy, nectar treats! I have had 8 of these this year already. Of course the wearing of the green is also fun to do on Saint Patrick's........

Today I'm wearing one of my favorite tee's.........

 Although the shirt really isn't true. I was born here, and I'm really half Czech first, then part Dutch, and part Irish. Does that still count?

And later tonight, I'll reward the Lad for the Shamrock shake with me wearing these.......

I 'll see if he can locate the four leaf clovers! Oh wait....there all four leaf clovers. Well ,blushing, I'm sure he'll still enjoy them! Have a Great Saint Patrick's Day to you all!!!!!

Guilty Pleasure....Shamrock Shake

After being out last night for some cock-a-tails and dancing, we all went to McDonald's for lunch today. It been a long time since I was there. But the reason? The Shamrock Shake!!! And this will only be the beginning. As you know lovelies, I overdose on these till there gone. All is right with the world again.

Weekend Plans-The Shamrock Shake

After last weekend the Mistress is going to be taking it easy. Next week will start another round of weekend happenings again so she is going to relax this weekend. And the bright side of having my hours cut at work ,is that I'm able to get most of the house work done durning the week, so the weekends are completely free. This weekend the Mistress is going to give the Boy-Toy a cooking lesson or two at the request of the Toy him self. You see, when the Mistress isn't around she takes all the house help with her. So he wants to know how to cook the staples of survival I like to call them, for himself. Another thing I want to do is download all the songs I want into my Ipod. So when I take a walk around the lake ,I have some tunes to listen to. Then there will be trips to get groceries and the market to get some provisions for dinners this week. Tomorrow, we will take it easy and we are going in the city to go see yet another museum, The Mutter Museum- The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The Mistress has been wanting to get there for ages. But the highlight will be getting Shamrock Shakes from McDonald's.





The Mistress was out and about last week and she saw that these little gems are back ! I loooovvveeesssss me a Shamrock shake. I will probably come close to over dosing on these again and have to be taken to the hospital because of it. Last year I had so many I swear this dame turned green! I'm getting my first one this afternoon!!! It's sad when you want a Shamrock shake over going to a museum isn't it. I need help.
